We had a pleasant and comfortable family getaway. Loved the view! Located in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the quick stroll on the beach to Puerto Nuevo.
We had a really nice long weekend here. Views are stunning. Just a short walk on the sand to get lobster. Amazing fish taco spot about a block up. Everything is walkable.
Excellent stay for the weekend. Loved the view and the sound of the waves in the morning. The house is comfortable and clean. Debbie and Heidi are both just fantastic to deal with. Highly recommend and planning on returning. Rob and Jodie
Despite a few things that could stand improvement, this place gets 5 Stars anyway. It is literally a stone's throw into the ocean, so you get full effect of the sights, sounds, and smells all day and night. This is a very old house that has clearly had numerous upgrades over the years, including a gas furnace. Plus the security on the house itself is second to none with the bars, security door, etc. And as advertised, you can walk to Lobster Village, but it is a healthy walk to get there. The hiccups include furniture that is low, hence not the best for older people (like me). If you cook, the cookware is less than ideal though useable. And, there were lots of ants in the kitchen especially. But still, with the location and view, 5 stars anyway.
This house had everything you needed for a wonderful stay. We booked this place to celebrate our daughter’s 3rd birthday as a family. Debbie, the property manager, was so much fun to chat with as she walked us through the house. She was amazing and we just loved her vibe. We also loved how close everything was to restaurants and Puerto Nuevo village. The house is beautiful, to comfy beds, nice bathrooms, and peaceful scenery. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Heidi, for a great stay.
This house is close enough to Puerto Nuevo to feel local but at the end of the street and far enough away to feel secluded at the same time. The kitchen is convenient, the beds are comfy, the electric fireplace is very cozy and the sound of the ocean is absolutely dreamy. Magnificent sunsets. Epic DVD collection. Delicious lobster awaits you in town. I cannot wait to return.
Cute home with a very quiet, private vibe. The view is awesome and it was great that the weather was pleasant.
The house is very comfortable, well stocked and clean.
The communication with Heidi and Debbie, the Manager was awesome. Debbie even waited for us to arrive since we weren't able to make it to the home until close to 9 pm because of traffic. Would definitely stay there again.
Really beautiful location and cozy property right on the ocean in a quiet, gated community. Easy to get to with very helpful property manager who helped us keep the lights on during drenching rainstorm! Keep in mind no central heat, especially for winter months, but still very warm with space heaters and blankets. Beautifully decorated with comfortable master bedroom and couches. With Rosarito just a stone's throw and Valle de Guadalupe wine country a breath-taking drive away, this rustic seaside getaway is a bargain in Baja.

It was unfortunate that Linda was at the house during or right after a big winter storm. The electrical to the house was effected unbeknownst to everyone. There was power but not full power to everywhere in the house. We were then at the mercy of the power company to repair the power line in the neighborhood which happened after Linda's group left. Our manager helped with extra items like electric cooking pot and skillet in place of the stove, extension cords to plug into sockets that were working, extra blankets, a handyman to help solve issues, and our manager even took and did their laundry at her own house. We did the best we could to make the house as comfortable as possible.
Then came their departure. The house was not left in any kind of order at all. The renters had plugged into places they were specifically told not to use and caused more electrical damage. None of the departure rules were followed: garbage was left in all cans (the receptacle is across the street and an easy one for renters), games and outdoor chairs were not put away, dirty dishes were in the sink. The list can go on. The rules are clearly marked and it says that the deposit return is dependent upon the departure details being followed. We are pretty lenient for most folks, maybe a step or two not done, but these renters didn't do ANY of it and the cleaners had to so much more and charged more. Hence, no refund of rent in place of deposit being returned. Otherwise, we would have kept some of the deposit to cover these extra costs. After a long long time of owning this house and renting out to a variety of people, we are definitely fair when it comes to any extra charges. This was an unfortunate instance that didn't go well for either of us.

We did not stay went to check in place old old furniture smells , only good thing was the view
Did not checkin after seeing place reviews and description of inside of house inaccuracies. Debbie manager told us we will loose the money we didn’t care that’s how bad it was . We’re out 500 dollars and driving in from Orange County and back 10 minutes after arrival obviously if we could have slept. At least one night we would have. The view was incredible

My manager, Debbie, and I have been speaking about your very short 10 minute visit. Though there was some confusion of basic house rules due to English nor Spanish not being your first language, you seemed fine with the house, it was your friend who was not. You told Debbie that your friend was not ok with the high rise rental in Newport Beach as well. There is a pattern with your renting history. You were given back your cleaning fee on the spot and your deposit will be refunded thru the website but your rent will not be, as stated in our rules, which is a lot less than the "$500" you thought you have lost. I'm also curious as to what the reasons are for not staying.
We strive to take care of our home for our guests and have had over 15 years of happy renters. Our pictures and descriptions are accurate and it is even stated in our description that if you want a 5 star resort, this is not the house for you. Your initial message when reserving was " ..planning to show our friends an authentic Mexico experience" - this is what you would have received if you would have stayed longer than the 10 minutes you took to survey the home. I'm pretty sure you would not have found a rental anywhere in this part of Baja that would have fit your expectations.
You really lost out, our home is awesome and I'm sorry you didn't feel the same way.
We brought 4 teens down for spring break (our son & 3 friends) and this home was perfect! The patio is huge and the views are beyond stunning. We even saw a SpaceX rocket launch one night! Sea lions frolic in the waves, we saw a gray whale & a seal while paddleboarding offshore, and surfed the waves right off the house. At low tide, you can walk quite a distance along the beach and explore tidal pools.
We loved that it was walking distance to Puerto Nuevo and close to other surf breaks. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has just been remodeled and the home is well-stocked with necessities. The area feels very safe and we met friendly homeowners and their happy dogs - it's a great little neighborhood. Agree with another reviewer - the fish taco place near the Oxxo is cheap, great & friendly staff!
We cannot wait to go back!
Adorable casa with such a peaceful vibe and the absolute most gorgeous view of the ocean over the bluffs covered in succulants. Quiet and very private - love that the bluffs block the view of people on the beach below so it seems like we had the entire coast to ourselves! The host contact, Debbie, was great. She was very patient with us as we made our way from San Diego to the property several hours later than we had expected :)
I could not have asked for anything better! The casa was well stocked with everything we needed, clean, and wonderfully decorated. They even left us a vase of live calla lilies on the dining room table that were so perfect we thought they were fake at first!
Wish we had a few more weeks to stay and enjoy it.

amazing view
We were a little nervous about traveling to Baja with our young children, it was fine. The house is a good size and in a good location, less than 5 minute drive to town. But, the outdoor space is what makes this place a must return to location. The house was a great value. Nothing fancy, perfect for the location. The only reason it is not a 5 star is because I am a clean freak and look for things that most people don't. Heidi was very easy to deal with and accommodating, she definitely gets 5 stars. The check in process with the house manager, Debbie, was easy and she was a great resource and made us feel very comfortable. Looking forward to visiting again and again. Just FYI, we crossed back to the USA on a Wednesday afternoon and it was about a hour and was also a very easy process.

Cute and Convenient Home
The home was very convenient for our stay in Mexico. It had 3 bedrooms; 2 bedrooms with queen beds and one bedroom with twin bunkbeds. Two full bathrooms (one with a tub). All reviews that were previously written by guests were accurate. The house is very close to Puerto Nuevo market, 20 minute drive to Rosarito, views were amazing, nice owner and property manager, secured location (gated community with 24 hour security), and easy to find. Wished that the area offered more of a sandy beach. There is a small beach during low tide but is infested with bugs, dead animals and seaweed (I believe that's were most of the smell comes from). Internet was only strong in the bunkbed room, once in the living area it would no longer work. Warm water worked in one of the bathrooms but the other remained cold the whole week. Had to bring extra toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags.
Was charged $100 cash for a cleaning fee which seemed a bit pricy for me due to the size of the house and the average prices in the area.
Overall experience was good. However, I would most likely try and explore other options for rentals.

Thank you for your review Evelyn. I am happy to hear that overall the house worked for your week stay. To address the issues: the items we put out for renters are a full roll of paper towels, 2 extra rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom, and extra garbage bags. This is very typical for a rental. As your group stayed for a week, it is assumed that you would need to buy extras, especially since your group was larger than expected. The cleaning fee is typically $50 - for a weekend. Your group of 6 or more was there for a week and we price accordingly. We have always tried to be fair with our pricing. The cleaning fee is set by our cleaning lady who lives in the neighborhood. This is also the person who would have come to fix the hot water issue if you would have contacted us. I'm sorry to hear that you were out any hot water for the week! We have 2 water heaters. The circuit must have popped on one. An easy fix if we were notified. And for the beach, yes the size is dependent on the tide. There are sand fleas, as there are on our beaches in CA. I'm not sure what to say about the "dead animals" on the beach as I have never seen that. The seaweed gets piled up in the summer and is washed away from high tides and storms. Late summer lacks in storms. We have always managed to get away from it and enjoyed our time on the beach. There are not many big sandy beaches in the area.

weekend get away with seniors
* House is next to a sewer drain on the right. Not a super strong smell in April but we did catch a wiff every now and then. The location was very safe with security at entry. The beach access is nice although I would not recommend getting in the water. Beautiful views from the balcony. Nice Kitchen, plenty of fresh towels. Home is one story making it easy for the 3 over 70 seniors we brought. it is a very roomy beach house. the compound is full of other beach homes and safe to walk around. The home is a rustic style. Very clean although I would suggest the fan in the 2nd room near living room is cleaned. its full of dust. Negatives1) the host left the propane tank at 30 the tank looses pressure at 20. So basically she left it empty. This was not an oversight. She was aware. the last night we were there we lost gas during our eve dinner. okay fine. 2) No wifi password anywhere to be found. Okay its a beach house just disconnect. 3) No functioning TV (DVD player on but not working) fine we disconnected. Host can be friendlier and less anxious. It's difficult to rent from people who have emotional attachments to their homes. Overall I gave the home a 4/5.
Amazing, exceeded my expectations, the best place to stay and spend time with the family. Without exaggeration the place is very beautiful 100% recommended!. Asombroso supero mis expectativas , el mejor lugar para pasar un tiempo con la familia. sin exagerar el lugar es muy hermoso y todas comodidades y necesidades estan a la mano recomendado 100%
Pictures don’t do this adorable house justice! The view of the coast from the large patio while listening to the waves is a little slice of heaven. Within minutes of Rosarito and right next to Puerto Nuevo. The owner and property manager were great - answered all of our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Heidi and Debbie! We will definitely be back!
My husband and I fell in love with this place. It was just what we needed. A quiet little house on a quiet street, overlooking the waves. We just spent our days enjoying he views and beautiful weather, and walking around the area. There's a market nearby so we did shopping and barbequed on the patio but the restaurants in Puerto Nuevo were just a short walk along the beach. The house itself was clean and well stocked and there was no problems at all. I will definitely stay here again.
Absolutely amazing the pictures don't do justice this place is so nice the view is espectacular, easy to contact the manager very friendly Debra gave great recommendations of restaurants. Will definately be booking this place again with the family close to everything nice private community really enjoyed our stay.
The view was gorgeous, the house decorated beautifully, very well supplied with everything you could need, the contact person Debbie was so nice, in short, we loved it!

We purchased our Baja house in 2007 hoping to spend some quality time with our family at the ocean. We surely enjoy this special time with such an amazing view of the Pacific! We live in the San Luis Obispo area and always look forward to spending time in Baja.
Why they chose this property
We first vacationed at this house during Thanksgiving time in 2006. It was for sale and we loved our time here so much that we bought the property soon after. We have had many memorable visits with our children. They absolutely love being at the Baja house. The connection with the ocean is unforgettable.
What makes this property unique
One of my favoite places when at the house is the front entry courtyard. It's such a cool place to sit on a warm summer day. The bouganvilla cascading over the entry is absolutely beautiful. But it's undeniably the view of the Pacific Ocean on the back patio that cannot be forgotten. Being able to walk down to the waves to surf in front of the house is Jake's favorite activity. Come experience our House by the Waves, Casa De Las Olas. It is such a family friendly house in a quiet and safe neighborhood with a beach below (depending on tides) and the village of Puerto Nuevo next door. Perfect for a couple or a family.
