About Mary Ellen Warner

Mary Ellen and Bob are from Mississippi. Bob grew up in Bay St. Louis and graduated from St. Stanislaus. They have been coming back to "The Bay" for over twenty years and are proud to be apart of this unique coastal community. The quiet streets, beautiful beaches, and the history & culture of Bay St. Louis are forever in our hearts. We love Bay St. Louis!

Mary Ellen Warner purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Mary Ellen Warner chose Mississippi

The owners return to the Gulf Coast regularly for rest and relaxation. They are pleased to have the opportunity to restore and preserve this historical 100 year old cottage, 'La Petite Cachette' (Little Nook). They love their home and want to share this restored piece of coastal history.

What makes this cottage unique

This Creole home is one of the few 'Biloxi Cottages' to survive after Katrina. The typical 'Biloxi Cottage' is a locally popular vernacular house that is typified by a gable roof, undercut gallery, and four bay facade with doors in two central bays.

'La Petite Cachette' is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is a special property that seamlessly blends the history of a past lifestyle with the modern luxury of today. The 'barge board' bookshelves and hardwood floors are incorporated with the modern luxury of the private pool, WIFI, and flatscreens.

Wonderful, cozy place!

  • 5 of 5

This place was tucked into a very private yard with a beautiful pool area. The main house was very pretty, however we stayed in the attached guest quarters which had several stairs to walk up to get to it. We never encountered the people in the main house. Everything was very nice! It was perfect for 2 people! Nice little open kitchen, dining area and living room with a private bedroom with a few steps going up to a nice bathroom Would recommend for a nice quiet , private week or weekend getaway!!! Thanks to the owners!!! They were easy to deal with! Love the Bay! Beautiful town and Kind people!!!!

Comfy Cozy Retreat

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay in Bay St. Louis and this property was comfortable, charming, and convenient. Bike rides to the beach, popcorn and a movie when the rain came in. The pool was great for a quick dip to rinse off the Gulf. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, but just a couple of minutes from lovely downtown. Mary Ellen was wonderful to deal with and we couldn't be happier with our stay. Highly recommend it!

A gem! Beautiful accommodations in an adorable little beach town. The pool was perfect for long stress relieving floats. Great Resturants and shops to enjoy. Even made new friends - the downstairs guests!

My husband & I stayed in the Guest Quarters!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed a long weekend at the Guest Quarters for our anniversary. We were so impressed with the charming beauty of this place. Bay St. Louis had quaint shops and great restaurants that were close and we loved the character and privacy of the historical home. It was a great stay and we would book there again for sure!
