About the Property
Spacious 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom, Sleeps 8 - Luxury Chalet
Our 3 bedrooms provide home away from home comfort. The master suite has a king bed, two closets (one walk-in closet), and a private bath with walk-in shower. This bedroom also offers floor to ceiling views of the outdoors with access to a deck.
Second and third bedrooms downstairs offer king and queen size beds with spacious closets. The third bedroom opens up onto a deck with its own floor to ceiling view of Mt. LeConte. A full size sleeper sofa upstairs offers additional sleep options.
Our bathrooms come stocked with linens, hairdryer, hand soap, starter tissue and toilet paper.
There's no need to feel cramped in a tiny cabin. Our chalet offers spacious living, dining, and play space with an open floor plan upstairs and downstairs! Our large dining table seats up to 8 guests very comfortably.
If you dine in, our large new kitchen offers all stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), comes furnished with essential small appliances (coffee maker, toaster, blender, toaster oven, microwave), bakeware, and anodized cookware, and gives you more than ample storage and prep space! Grocery shopping is conveniently located 5 minutes away on Hwy 321, accessible by back roads to avoid traffic.
Just because you dine in, it doesn't mean you have to cook indoors! We’ve designed our property to maximize the outdoors. We have four outdoor living spaces where you can cook, eat, rock, read, and even sleep. Try out our outdoor solid surface grill, perfect for steak, hibachi, or burgers! Cook your eggs, pancakes, & bacon right on the stainless steel surface. Roast hotdogs or toast marshmallows over the open flame of the outdoor fire pit. Gather around the covered outdoor table for mealtimes or make memories under the stars as you sit around the fire.
If you spend the day shopping in downtown Gatlinburg or shopping in the outlets of Pigeon Forge, rest your weary feet in our 6-person hot tub. Relax as you soak in the bubbles and soak up the view. Our hot tub is covered and situated so that you can look right out at Mt. LeConte.
Prop your feet up indoors as you take in a movie. We offer not one but two large high definition flat screen televisions. No need to argue over what you watch! Both the 50' and 55' flatscreens come with DVD/Blueray surround sound, netflix, and streaming Pandora.
If you're in the mood for a family game night, we provide a full-size slate pool table and a variety of games and puzzles.
Privacy is a great feature our chalet offers. We are located on a heavily wooded one acre lot at the end of our drive, so there is practically no traffic. In the spring, summer, and fall all you see is Mt LeConte and the Smokeys to the east. The properties in our community are a mix of rentals and permanent residents, which makes for a safer and quieter vacation.
The peace and quiet provides a haven for a variety of wildlife, including bears, raccoons, & many species of birds. You may see all these right in our backyard! Bring your binoculars! You may be visited by cardinals, chickadees, white breasted nuthatches, tufted titmice, and an unusual number of pileated woodpeckers.
Just because we're private doesn't mean we're not connected. We provide free WiFi, cable, and long distance phone service. Enjoy your vacation without being cut off from life back home. Our chalet even gets great cell phone reception, so you'll never be out of touch.
In case you need to wash laundry, we also provide a full size washer and dryer. However, we do not provide detergent.
We provide all sheets and bedroom linens, kitchen linens, starter paper towels, and trash bags. We want to make your vacation as relaxing as possible.
By the end of your stay, you'll feel like you could live here! We hope you will want to come back and tell your friends about us :) This is a new listing, so we look forward to sharing our place with you.

Our chalet is centrally located between three major attractions offering everything from hiking to outlet shopping to theme parks.
The main attraction is the Smokey Mountain National Park, the nation's most popular national park. We are located 6 miles from the Sugarlands Visitor Center, the main entrance to the National park on the Tennessee side. Trailheads for Mt. LeConte and the Chimneys are just a few miles away. Grotto Falls and Laurel Falls are nearby. Clingman's Dome is within 20 miles and some of the best cycling and horse back riding is available in Cades Cove.
Downtown Gatlinburg is just over 2 miles from our chalet (and we have backroads to get you into town). Ripley's Aquarium is one of the best aquariums in the Southeast and is a must see. Dozens of local and chain restaurants offer a wide range of food from Steak to Mexican to Seafood (Calhouns, Cherokee Grill, Bubba Gump Shrimp, The Melting Pot, No Way Jose's, Texas Roadhouse). Of course, all major fast food options are available. A pancake house sits right by the first traffic light as you turn left. Children and couples alike love to play Davy Crockett's mini golf, which is located right beside the pancake house. Dozens of shops line Gatlinburg's main street (don't forget to take home some Tennessee fudge).
If you are in for attractions, then Pigeon Forge is a must stop (Again we have back roads that can help you avoid the traffic on the main drag). Whether you like thrill rides or country music, Dollywood Theme Park is a must see. The park, voted America's most friendly park, has four major roller coasters (including the new Wild Eagle) and award winning live entertainment to suit every taste. Next door is Dollywood's huge water park Splash Country. Plan to spend an entire day at each park. Pigeon Forge has wall to wall live entertainment with everything from the Comedy Barn to the Dixie Stampede (a great show if you like horses and a good ole fashion meal). Kids really enjoy MagiQuest and the Nascar Speed Way. You can play miniature golf, bungee jump, or ride the new super Ferris wheel. The brand new Pigeon Forge Convention Center is located in the center of town. A wide assortment of dining is available but we recommend you eat at Applewood Farm House at least once (Breakfast is a definite and do lunch or dinner if you can).
Horseback riding, zip lines, white water tubing, rafting and many other outdoor activities are all located within a 10 mile drive.
Year Purchased: 2013
About the owner: We have lived in beautiful East Tennessee together for 20 years. In fact, we just celebrated our anniversary in this chalet. I grew up in this region, and my husband spent many summers during his childhood vacationing here with his grandparents. Our daughter is growing up learning to appreciate the outdoors with us. We spend most spring and fall evenings eating outdoors on our deck at home. Here in the Smokies, Abby loves to spend hours picnicking and playing in the stream at Metcalf Bottoms. We are a family of three (four, if you include our miniature poodle Roo) currently living in the city of Knoxville. My husband and I both teach at Johnson University, situated just miles from the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. We love to travel to see the world and do missions work. Our daughter attends grade school and loves horses. We enjoy worship with our local church family, and try to stay involved with our daughter's school activities.
Why the Owner Chose Gatlinburg, TN, USA:
Since we both grew up loving the peaceful quiet of the mountains, we had always talked about owning a place of our own. We normally rent a cabin in the winter to get away for the weekend, so we knew we would end up using the place ourselves. We love the house and area so much, we feel like we could live here. We bought this place with retirement in mind; And truly every time we come here, it feels like home.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
I fell in love with the house when I first saw the floor to ceiling windows. With the large open floor plan, it just feels like the outdoors comes right in. The view is just spectacular. We can sit outside enjoying a book and tea, or stay indoors enjoying a book or tea. Either way we feel as though we're a part of the scenery. We wanted the comforts of home, so we made sure we had comfortable beds, furniture, large table for family meals, great TV's with a sound system (we love music) and a modern kitchen. The stone fireplaces add a rustic and comfortable touch, and we had to have our outdoor living space. The decks, carport, and patio all add extra living space to the home, making it the ideal place for us. The hot tub and pool table are just bonuses for entertaining!
