This light, bright & open contemporary Pebble Beach home located within walking distance to The Lodge and adjacent to the Lone Cypress tree along the 17 Mile drive with views of the Pacific from almost every window is the perfect getaway.

This home, originally built in 1970 in the Sea Ranch Style has just undergone a complete remodel.

The open kitchen/great room now has additional windows to the sweeping views of the Pacific where you can watch the waves crash and the otters play. A large wood deck opens towards the ocean through sliding doors from the Kitchen. This is the area where you will spend 90% of your time when in the house!

There are three buildings on the property. The main house, the guest house and the garage. The main house includes a huge master with a King Size bed and ensuite bath - complete with double sinks and walk-in closets. A large sitting area with sliding door access to an outdoor patio area is adjacent to the Master.

Up the stairs is a second large bedroom and a loft space separated by a bathroom. The upstairs beds can be configured as either 2 Twins or a King. The loft/den adjacent to the upstairs bedroom has a sitting area with a Flat screen TV and room to set up additional air mattresses (provided) for sleeping additional guests.

This rental includes a detached 300 square foot guest house. This separate space is the perfect solution for either teens, in-laws, or couples - allowing for private space - yet connection to the main house via the patio - all behind the locked gate. The Guest house has a mini-fridge, it's own en-suite bath with shower/tub and in the sleeping area has a Flat Screen TV and a great reading chair, dresser and book shelf.

The very large living room with its abundant windows provides views to the ocean. There is a game table in this room to either gather to play games, do a little work or eat a meal.

The newly renovated kitchen/great room has a sliding glass door out to an ocean side deck, a large flat screen TV in the sitting area, stackable washer/dryers behind a pocket door, all new top of the line appliances, a large island with seating and great views of the ocean.

Each of the three full bathrooms have also been completed remodeled with all new plumbing, cabinets, flooring, lighting. The bathrooms are roomy, bright, modern and VERY functional.

There is also a powder room right off the main entrance in what used to be a small closet.

There is ample parking at the top of the driveway as well as a several spots along the 17 mile drive, which belong to this property exclusively. There are times when 1 or 2 spaces are available for use in the garage. (please ask if interested).

Enjoy your morning tea/coffee from one of three outdoor patio areas and watch deer, listen for birds, and observe the beauty of the Del Monte Forest which surrounds this special home.

You might find more luxurious options, you might find cheaper options, but I can guarantee you won't find another place as unique, special and timeless as this modern tree house in the heart of the Del Monte Forest with the wide pacific expanse out your front door.

Oh - and let's not forget the neighborhood - Best Golf in the world. Easy access to Big Sur, Carmel, Monterey and more. A vacation experience you will long treasure.

About Tracy Jenkins

My husband, who worked for many years for the original owner and his wife has always loved this home. We purchased the home from the original owner's trust and have committed ourselves to share the home in the way the owners wished. It was always the wish of the original homeowners that those who stay here use the home as a place to explore the incredible Peninsula.

The Original owners hired a contemporary architect to build a structure that would melt into the surrounding Del Monte Forest, while taking advantage of the slope, the view and the natural beauty of the area. They took inspiration from the architecture you find at Sea Ranch on the Mendocino coast.

Although many people have wanted to purchase the property for the land to build a much grander home, we want to continue to share the home with visitors from near and far - as this how the original owners envisioned the home's use. For over 40 years countless friends, family and vacationers have enjoyed the peace, tranquility, location and unique beauty of this one-of-a-kind 17 mile drive home.

What makes this house unique

It's hard not to fall in love with this home. Parking the car and climbing a few short stairs to the wooden gate, worn to a weathered gray finish evoking a sense of time and place. The pebbled decks speckled with flower pots, lemon tree, multiple hummingbirds, and more greet you as you turn to the 2 story front entry way filled with light.

We almost always park the car and immediately walk yards to the Lone Cypress to enjoy the remarkable setting. We hope you will find the same joy.

This home and property are gorgeous and well-equipped. Its mid century modern decor is so fresh against the backdrop of the incredible view right outside the full and numerous windows! Just steps away from the famous Lone Cypress -- we enjoyed many sunsets on the deck there. An added plus -- the details provided by Tracy, an extremely organized owner. Her famous "green binder" was invaluable. We especially enjoyed reading about the history of the home. Caretaker Paul Smith was awesome and informative, too. We hope to return soon and repeat our wonderful vacation at this property! Thank you!

Can't Do Better Than This

This was our third extended stay at this property. Works great for 6 adults, can accommodate additional children. House was remodeled a few years ago, and it was done very thoughtfully. House much more accommodating now. Everything is fully stocked. View of ocean could only be better if on the ocean side of 17 Mile Drive, which has few rentals. With the great weather, little desire to leave the house when can sit outside on the deck and enjoy the sight and sound of the ocean. This is our go to spot for our annual trip to the Monterey Jazz Festival.

High Expectations... Cole House and Tracy Surpassed

My family spent a week at this majestic spot. The attention to detail on the home renovations should be noted. Everything was as described. My family has stayed at many homes with the service around the world and we have typically found a slight annoyance here or there but not with this house... The master bedroom was spacious and we really enjoyed all of the seating areas in and outside the house. As noted in many reviews here- we began our day with coffee at the lone Cypress when there was no one there for hours on end. We used the kitchen pretty extensively and love to cook and did not find anything we did not need. Before and during our stay-all of our needs were met. We have been to the area before and stayed in hotels but after a week here I am not sure I'd would want to stay anywhere else. We played golf at a bunch of the area courses and it was such an easy and enjoyable drive everywhere. Great base for golf. We would come back here for a couples trip and stay here as well. My mother stayed in the guest house and said it was the best sleep she's gotten in over 10 years. The home graciously provides bikes but we did not use them as the area traffic and very narrow roads did not seem safe unless you are experienced or going early in the morning. We walked to several stops on 17 mile and had excellent whale watching from Pescadero point. Home provides good binoculars for your use as well. We also played Scrabble (provided along with other games) many nights which happily kept teens of screens! Many unexpected touches like that with this special home. Thank you TRACY!

The new kitchen with GE Monogram appliances is a great room with TV, seating and exterior deck - all windows face the roiling Pacific ocean. All the bathrooms were renovated including the Master which now has double sink vanity, walk in shower, walk-in closet. We've added a 1/2 bath off the living room. This home, located just steps from the Lone Cypress tree right along the historic, scenic 17 mile drive, will delight you from the moment you walk into it's secret and stunning rooms. You can take beautiful walks to Pescadaro point, Cypress Point Golf club, Pebble Beach Golf Club. The location of this rental is one of the best along the drive.

This is a great place for your foursome to relax after a day of golfing at any of the Public golf courses located within a short distance. You can walk up to The Lodge at Pebble Beach, take a short drive to the Fire Pits at Spanish Bay Inn and Resort to hear the bagpiper as the sun goes down!! (This is a don't miss).

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is about 10 minutes away. The town of Carmel and it's quaint shopping is a short 10 minute drive as well.

You can also drive over to Point Lobos and hike the trails or do some diving, snorkeling. (Bring a wetsuit)

Drive down the coast to Nepenthes.

Or just simply relax and enjoy a simple walk along the drive. Bring your bikes and ride along the famous 17 mile drive.

Home is rented to responsible mature adults ONLY. We charge additional fees of $75/per person/night (more than 6 guests) - 8 guests maximum. This home is not available for parties of any type. It is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and renew.

Nightly rates do not include property damage insurance (required), cleaning fees and lodging taxes. You will see the full quote which includes these totals when you request a full quote.

Rates are higher for special events and peak seasons.

Until booked, confirmed and deposit made, rates are subject to change. We have a 90 day cancellation policy. If you need to cancel within 90 days of arrival a partial refund would ONLY be available if we are able to re-rent out for any or all of the time for which you reserved.
