This was a so-so experience. There were several good things and several bad things about the property and experience. The bad: there is a catering & restaurant laundering service next door which makes an incredible amount of noise for the two street-facing bedrooms. Like, an amount of noise that makes it nearly impossible to sleep starting at 1-2am and ending at 7-8am. The home was mostly clean, however there was hair in the shower. The location is 15mins from the train station and 30 mins to walk to any area of Brooklyn that’s enjoyable for food/drink. The good: comfortable home, overall clean, stylish and only a third floor walk up. Wouldn’t stay here again due to the uncontrollable noise. Half of our party was unable to sleep the entire stay. Bring earplugs and a loud noise machine.
We did not stay. We learned the morning of intended arrival that the actual property address was not the same as the property listed on our confirmed reservation. We requested a full refund based on the fact that it was fraudulent advertising. We did not feel safe going to a completely different address that was 1 mile away from our reservation. 1 mile makes a huge different in neighborhoods in Brooklyn, NY
The only thing accurate about this property listing are the pictures. The inside of the unit is very nice. However, the location is nowhere near where they stated it is. The address that comes up when you book it is in an active area with restaurants and shops and the subway right near it. The actual location is on an industrial block 25 minute walk from the subway and challenging parking with nothing within walking distance except a tiny little deli place. In addition to the location, when you get there, you have to meet a housekeeper on some sketchy street and have her take you to the unit. Then they will tell you not to tell anybody that you’re a VRBO guest, but that you are with Julissa. In addition to that, when we got there, one of the bathrooms were out of order. The maintenance guy showed up early in the morning the next day with no notice. Then, it started to get warm and we realized there was no remote control for the air-conditioning, and we spent three days with no air-conditioning in a warm third floor walk up. The owners promised us a 30% credit, but they never sent it. Steer far away from this place.
The property was not at the address we were given after we paid. The original location was a 5-minute walk from a subway entrance so we planned to take MTA from the airport. However, after arriving, the host requested we contact his friend, who would lead us to the place and let us in. The meeting place was at a different address that was a 20-minute walk from the address we were given for our listing. I asked if it was ok to meet at the first address we had been given to save backtracking with 6 people (including 2 children) and our luggage, but was told no, that we had to meet at the new address. We did not hear back from the friend until 10 minutes after our check-in time when she texted us to meet at yet another address, which luckily was only a block away. We waited for her there another 5 minutes and she came with the keys to let us in. This address was our final destination and was directly across from a major catering company run out of a warehouse 24/7 with dumpsters for their trash that were piled high and removed every day and deliveries with men shouting and large trucks at 5 am every day. The street had rats in it and was littered with garbage in puddles of water at the curb. The place was very clean but the amenities were inaccurate. None of the 3 beds had a top sheet and only 1 bath towel/person-no kitchen towels, only 1 spare roll of toilet paper in each bathroom for a week stay.Communication with host was very limited. Took 2 days to get these items.
