About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6, 1800 Sq ft

This house is located just blocks from everything that you need. We are 2 blocks from the park, 1 block from the historic district, and 5 blocks from downtown and all of the history that it has to offer! There are several restaurants and bars in walking distance, but far enough away for a peaceful rest. The house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home and can sleep 6-8 people in total. Two of the bedrooms are furnished with queen beds and the third bedroom has 2 twin beds. One of the queen rooms is located in the lower level and is nice and cool in the summertime.

We recently refinished all of the original wood floors from 1946 and they are just beautiful! This house has a lot of charm. Updates have been made when necessary, but we have done our best to maintain some of the original features.

We are pro-family and do not charge for children 15 years of age and under.

This house is a duplex and the other side is rented out. There are five steps into the front door. There is a large lot where 2 vehicles have off street parking and there is plenty of room for a pet to be outside, however it is unfenced. Pets are considered on a case by case basis.

The house is completely furnished and has a table & chairs and a grill for outdoor cooking. It also comes with wifi and Dish TV. We have just completed an update on the house and this is only the third summer it is available as a vacation rental.

About Elton and Elaine Dodge

Our names are Elton and Elaine. Elton was born and raised in Livingston, MT. We purchased this duplex about 11 years ago and it has been a standard rental until 2013. We have just decided to explore the world of vacation rentals. Several of our friends have been doing this for a couple of years and really have enjoyed their experiences. We would love to have you stay at our vacation rental in Livingston and would also be happy to be your resource and knowledge to our area and things that there are to do here!

Elton and Elaine Dodge purchased this house in 2005

Why Elton and Elaine Dodge chose Yellowstone Country

The Livingston area has been home to our family for close to 150 years and there are four generations of us that currently call it home. This house was originally purchased as an investment property and some of our family have stayed here when they have moved back home (and they always do!)

We currently live on a 20 acre ranch just west of Livingston. This part of the world really is the 'last best place' and a piece of God's country.

What makes this house unique

This house was build in 1946 and has a lot of the original character but also has enough of the upgrades to today's standards. We pulled out all of the carpet and refinished the original floors and I am sure there are many stories within those walls! The location of this house is the best that there is in town. Parking can be difficult during a Livingston summer so staying at a location that is easy walking distance to the action is a plus.

Nice house, spotlessly clean, good floor plan, well-supplied and maintained, conveniently located. Great value.

Owner's Response: We have really enjoyed hosting the "fishermen" groups that have stayed in our Geyser Vacation Rental! We are located only a short distance from the Yellowstone River and the National Fly Fisher Federation Headquarters. Thank you for visiting and leaving our home in great shape!

Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

This was a nice quaint home with all the things you need for a longer stay or shorter one. We were in town for a wedding and were staying since extra days and with having two families and younger kids it definitely way better than a hotel. The owners were very pleasant to speak to and were available for any questions! Great property great time in Montana!

Great little house in an awesome location!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with our accommodations while in Livingston. We especially appreciate the cooperation of the owners, since we literally booked our stay as we were driving to Montana. We were traveling with our 8 week old puppy and there willingness to let us have her there was a Godsend.

The house is nicely furnished and would easily fit 6 people, although we were only a party of 3. It's within walking distance of downtown and easy to find. One thing to keep in mind, it is an older house and unlike most houses these days, has a limited amount of hot water. Don't let your teenager be the first one to shower!

Owner's Response: We are happy that our rental was available for the days you needed them! We also have pets and try to be considerate of them....with some discrimination. Our home is much more spacious than the outside suggests, with plenty of room to "spread out" without walking over each other....or the puppy... Thank you for the "last minute" call!

Nice, Basic Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year in the property. Three men, each requiring separate bedroom, find it clean, comfortable, and adequately stocked.

Although we travel out of town on day trips fly fishing, we prefer staying in town as we may quickly shop on morning departures and return each night for dinner in town. The location is very convenient for us.

We particularly like having the spacious laundry room downstairs because with airline travel and baggage restrictions we have begun packing less and laundering clothes during our stay.

We have enjoyed meeting the owner and found him interested and concerned about renters having a pleasant experience.

Owner's Response: We love that you chose to stay at our vacation home again! We enjoyed seeing you all sitting in the lawn chairs watching people walking and cars driving by! We are happy to host fly fishermen to the Livingston area. It is one of the many things Livingston is known for!

Large and roomy for a family of 4

  • 5 of 5

The home was very clean and organized well. We had everything that we needed in the kitchen (except for a dishwasher - which is more of a want than a need). The laundry was very handy (they provided detergent and even dryer sheets!). It was about a 60-minute drive to Yellowstone, though we hit some construction on the days we went which made it a little longer. 3 bedrooms were very nice, and I think a 4th could even be used if needed. The owners were very responsive to us and very easy to work with!

Owner's Response: One of the many highlights of the location of our rental is the proximity to Livingston, Bozeman and Yellowstone National Park as well as 4 ski resorts (Red Lodge Mountain, Bridger Bowl, Big Sky and Moonlight Basin). We love when families or groups of friends stay in the home...it makes it "warm and cozy". Thank you for staying at our vacation home!

Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

It's not much from the outside, but there's a big suprise when you walk through the door. It is a perfect set up for families or just fun! It is clean and very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need and the beds are GREAT! The location is central to everything Livingston has to offer. We will definitely stay here again!!

Owner's Response: You WERE right about the outside....since your stay, we have painted the outside and replaced all the windows to maintain a more comfortable temperature and keep dust from Geyser Street out. We have also updated some of the inside furniture and look forward to you staying again!

Livingston is the place to be in the summer. We are located at the original gateway to Yellowstone National Park. There are many activities available to the traveler including hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, fishing, city tours, monthly art walks, and much more! We are located about 50 miles from the Yellowstone National Park Entrance and about 30 miles from Bozeman, MT where the airport is.

Events to look forward to in Livingston during the summer include the Art Walk (4th Friday of every month), July 2-4 Parade, Rodeos, Art in the Park by the Depot on Park, Professional Bull Riding (PBR) (August 6, 2016), Summer fest (July 15, 2016), the Livingston Hoot (August 4, 2016) and our weekly Farmers Market (Wednesday evenings 4:30-7) in Sacajawea Park only a short walk from our rental.

There is almost always something going on in our sleepy little town during the summer! It is truly an undiscovered hideaway!
