Why Jay Crochiere chose Moultonborough
We designed this home with a renowned local architect to take advantage of the location and the commanding views of the cove and the mountains.
What makes this House unique
The location of this brand new Craftsman style house is fantastic. Great water views and water access in this quiet cove (it's all a "no wake" zone).

Great summer escape!
Great camp in a quiet cove. Perfect for swimming, kayaking, boating and loon watching. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Ken & Beth,
We are so glad that you had a great week. I love watching and listening to the loons too, they are awesome.
I echo what everyone has said in the reviews below. We had a great week! Jay was very patient and responsive to my million questions, the house and kitchen were well stocked, there's plenty of room for parking, and the decks are amazing. The bunkhouse was a lifesaver for the kids. The true star of the show is the location - a quiet cove in a no wake zone, perfect for fishing, kayaking, etc but only 20-30 minutes from some VERY big water. There's deep (read: weed free) water right off the dock perfect for diving in and more than enough room for a boat or two. Center Harbor and Meredith are right down the street. Do be aware that the place is "rustic" and that Jay is still fixing some of its quirks. We would definitely go back!
We are glad that you and your family had a great week! Thanks again for renting from us. We are planning some major upgrades to the property during the off-season.
This was one of the best houses we've ever rented on the lake! It has incredible views!
This house has everything you need with a great deck and dock ! Plenty of room for our boat and Jetski. The no wake zone is so peaceful .... We loved it! We used the fire pit almost every night. One of the best vacations ever ..... We will definitely be back !!!!
Thanks again for renting from me, I am thrilled to hear that you and your family had a great time. Looking forward to having you back again next Summer!
Excellent all around
We rented this property for a week, from the beginning Jay was excellent contacted me within a day of making the request. Called me made sure I had his phone number. Before arriving he left a detailed email of everything we needed to know about the place and area. He left a note and bottle of wine to welcome us. The property is wonderful beds are comfortable everything looks brand new. We used the grill for every meal so can't comment on the stove. Place had everything you need for a comfortable week away. We did a little fishing had some luck nothing crazy. Snorkeled along the rocks off shore so some interesting things. The only recommendation I have is make sure your kids can swim because it is extremely deep off the dock. But water is Warm and nice. We hope to be able to rent this property again in the future.
Great spot- great owner
The owner Jay was very responsive and informative- we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a welcome note upon arrival which was a classy gesture. As for the house it has a rustic feel but is very clean and equipped with everything you need. If you have teens the Bunk House will be a huge hit because it's close enough to keep an eye on them yet far enough for them to have their own space. The fire pit was huge and we enjoyed it every night as we relaxed and enjoyed the lakefront view. The new Weber grill was also of great use. What was most surprising was how little boat traffic there was. We went in the middle of July and thought there'd be a decent amount of boat traffic but there were some weekdays where we only saw one or two despite the fact every house had a boat. Another big plus is that the entire cove (which is pretty large) is a wake free zone. I had zero issue kayaking near the very few motor boats that went by- even in the outer wake zone the boaters were consistently courteous and kept their distance. I frequently saw people stand up paddle boarding across cove with zero issues. A 5-10 minute kayak trek will take you to some great bass fishing areas (caught two in the 4 lb range / used soft jerk baits near lilly pad edges). The water off the dock is very deep and a previous review said they caught no fish. The trick is not to use a bobber (float) with bait. Simply put a worm on hook, cast out approximately 3 feet and watch line as it slowly sinks to bottom. When line stops begin to s-l-o-w-l-y reel it in with frequent pauses. My kids caught bass, several large and hard fighting White Perch and oversized Bluegill- I still smile recalling their excited shouts of "I got another one"! The kids also enjoyed using the rope swing which was a 5 minute kayak ride away. The two person kayak is great but I recommend bringing (renting) one for anyone who does like to explore because its more fun to do as a group.
Nostalgic, waterfront cottage with amazing views
We stayed at this cottage for our "mini-moon" after our wedding for four nights/five days and it was exactly what we needed to decompress after the stress and excitement. The scent of the cottage reminded me of my grnadparents property where we vacationed years ago and I loved the nostalgia it brought. Jay and Alice (owners) knew it was out honeymoon and left a bottle of wine and a lovely note for the newlyweds. We spent most of the time on the dock (NOT the deck) since the weather was amazing. There must be a beehive near the deck because there were lots of bees (friendly ones, nonetheless); we would have spent more time out there if there weren't so many. We used the tandem kayak available (I think the listing mentioned two kayaks)and saw the loons frequently (a highlight for us). We loved fishing off of the dock but didn't catch a thing. We grilled every night and made a bonfire for s'mores every night. It was quiet and peaceful and relaxing. LOTS of spiders all over the property (big ones!) but never in the house; however, one must be comfortable with nature's critters to stay there (rumors or bears in the 'hood....never saw any but still made me nervous!). They had all of the amenities of home in the kitchen. We spent a day in Meredith: ate at Town Docks (food was mediocre but lobster roll was amazing) and shopped at Mill Falls Marketplace and checked out Weirs Beach (mostly closed due to the time of year)--but we honestly couldn't wait to get back to the cottage and relax and swim. Owners were accomodating with early check in and late check out. Jay was quick to respond to my emails and texts. The listing description and photos were accurate (although I think better in person). House was very clean and neat. We were sad to leave.
