|Minimum Stay||2 - 5 nights|
This home is perfect for those looking for a truly private and tranquil retreat or a base camp for adventure. It is tucked away in the quiet Queen's Bath neighborhood, though still close to beautiful beaches, shopping and dining. This Hawaiian-style home has open plan living with vaulted ceilings and louvered windows that allow the island trade winds to naturally cool the inside. The expansive lanai extends living to the outdoors, with lounging, barbequing and dining in the tropical garden paradise. Luxuriate in the double person hammock under the shade of the mango tree. Snorkel the reef at Hideaways or hike the trail to the waterfall, steps away from Nalu house. After playing in the ocean, enjoy the secluded outdoor shower. Each bedroom is unique, with the entrance to additional sleeping quarters, The Twilight Room, through the garage. 'Nalu' means wave in Hawaiian and this home epitomizes the spirit of 'Aloha.'
5 night minimum stay; other minimum stay may apply seasonally. As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is not air conditioned.

Very quiet and private home. Appreciated the amenities of the kitchen and multiple water / beach accessories. There are two bikes which we used to tool around the community and watch sunsets.
Multiple fans which helped to cool the house since there is no AC.
Great location for the beaches, grocery store and shopping.
Nalu is a very pretty house will a lot of accomodations. We really liked our experience, we were close to the nicest spot such as the Queen's bath and Hanalei Bay. Downsides were the lack of A/C, it was very veryyy hot!! The showers were a bit dirty and had a used soap in it.. I would recommend this place for everyone that wants to stay on the north shore, there is also wi-fi and a phone that we can use. Nice place!
The house is lovely and uniquely suited to vacation rental. The outdoor shower was a wonderful experience, but there are 2 full baths in the house for the less adventurous. Multiple entrances allow for privacy. The open floor plan for the kitchen, dining and living areas make it easy to entertain. There are three bedrooms with plenty of closet and storage space. Nalu is located in a beautiful area, within walking distance of the Queen's Bath, and within easy driving distance of all of the accessible parts of Kauai. We explored the north, east, south and west shores of the island during our stay. The house catches every breeze and remains comfortable night and day. The deck is wonderful. The yard is beautiful. It is located in a lovely neighborhood. Use the grill to eat in or drive a short distance to any one of a number of dining opportunities. After staying here, I would never bother with a resort.
This is my second trip to Nalu House. I love the relaxed atmosphere, the proximity to the North Shore Beaches. I love Hanalei nice shops, friendly people. The house is very comfortable. It has a bbq when you want to cook, good restaurants when you don't. I like the outdoor shower especially at night under the stars. Don't worry it has 2 full bathrooms inside. You can easily sightsee the South Shore beaches but there is nothing like the North Shore. So if you like to surf, paddle board, hike or do nothing come visit Nalu House.
Great location. Close to beach, services, walks and hikes. Great internet and amenities. Nice to have a yard and private deck for eating outside. Very reasonable rates!
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed visiting this home. It was nice as it was all on one level and there was a spacious outdoor deck in the back to enjoy breakfast or afternoon drinks. The location was just a few minutes drive to amenities and beaches - and free parking right out front - The area is very safe, clean, and quiet. The Queen's Bath which is a cliffside ocean pool is a lovely hike to take - Royalty once lazed in this naturally occurring pool and it makes for a nice photo memory too - watch out for waves and make sure you wear good shoes or sturdy sandals as it can be slippery. The bed was very comfortable and there was a nice big picture window where you could doze off after looking at the stars - I would recommend it for both singles and small families.
