About the host
Hosted by Hunter Trenary
I come from a proud military family—my dad served, and I followed in his footsteps by joining the Army myself. I was born in North Carolina, but I grew up all over the country—Oklahoma, Kansas, and even spent part of my life going to high school in Hawaii. Having lived in so many places, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for different landscapes, people, and cultures.
I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors—whether it’s snowboarding down a mountain, scuba diving, surfing, hiking, or just spending time in nature. Adventure and travel have shaped who I am, and that spirit is part of why I love hosting.
This was my very first home, and it holds a lot of special memories for me. Now that I’m moving out of the area and starting a new chapter of travel and exploration, I wanted to open the doors for others to enjoy it just as much as I have. My goal is for every guest to feel at home the moment they walk in—to relax, recharge, and create their own memories here. Hosting gives me a way to stay connected to the place that started it all, while sharing the comfort, warmth, and peaceful energy that I’ve enjoyed so much myself.

Why they chose this property
When I first started looking for a place, I knew I didn’t want to live right in the middle of a big city. I wanted something quieter and safer—somewhere with space to breathe, friendly neighbors, and a strong sense of community. Washington, Illinois checked all those boxes.
It’s about a 15-minute drive to Peoria, so you can easily enjoy restaurants, shops, and entertainment whenever you want, but you get to come home to a peaceful neighborhood afterward. With a population of around 16,000, Washington has that small-town charm where people still wave to each other and look out for their neighbors. It’s a great area for families, evening walks, and anyone who wants to unwind without feeling disconnected from the city.
The safety, cleanliness, and friendliness of this neighborhood are what really made me fall in love with it. It’s the kind of place where you can feel comfortable letting your kids play outside or enjoy a quiet morning coffee on the patio without any noise or traffic.

What makes this property unique
This home stands out because it was designed with comfort, connection, and fun in mind. The highlight is definitely the heated swimming pool, where guests can even request the water temperature ahead of time to make it just right for their stay. The backyard also has a beautiful garden, along with an apple tree and a plum tree, which bring a relaxing, homegrown feel to the space.
Upstairs, the second-story deck is one of my favorite spots—it’s perfect for dinners outside, morning coffee, or just hanging out under the stars. The layout and amenities were created with family gatherings in mind. It’s spacious enough for everyone to be together without feeling crowded, and it has everything you need for quality time—whether that’s cooking, swimming, or just relaxing.
This was my first home, and I poured a lot of care into it. It’s comfortable, peaceful, and has a great balance between modern convenience and that cozy, family-friendly charm that makes it feel special.
