Jim F purchased this House in 2017
Why Jim F chose Oak Park
I bought this house specifically to become a short-term/vacation rental host. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely gutted and updated to the latest building codes. We passed all the city building and rental inspections. We also have a professional cleaning crew that comes in after each stay and makes sure everything is as clean and tidy as possible for the next guest. The house stays clean and fresh.
What makes this House unique
Location (20 minutes to most things you'll want to do and see in Detroit) Stay in a brand new house with a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, new flooring, new living room furniture, very comfortable mattresses. Attached 2-car garage - you won't get that often around here, and certainly not in a hotel.

This property was a life saver for us when we had to move out of our house to have the floors refinished. We needed somewhere we could do with our pets. The communication with the owner was always very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend
We stayed here for almost 5 weeks. It was mostly as advertised. A few small things were corrected by the owner. He is very nice.
Another nice stay
We have stayed here before and a year later I am giving the same excellent rating
Great neighborhood and very clean!
House was very clean and everything was just as described.
Clean Cozy Renovatd Randh
excellent location--beautifully renovated ranch. floors were a bit dirty- everything else was fine. Did have trouble using washer-- but not a big deal as this was the end of our trip. Details on use of house were emailed too late for me to see them before we left for Michigan
Most people choose to stay in or near Oak Park because it is centrally located within the Metro Detroit. It's also 1 mile from the Detroit Zoo that has the largest penguinarium in the world.
Easy 20-minute Lyft/Uber or car ride to midtown museums, including the world famous Detroit Institute of Art, and to downtown entertainment, including the newest sports area in US, Little Caesars Arena, where Detroit Red Wings and Pistons. Comerica Park, Ford Field and Fox Theater are all in that same area.
The city of Detroit is undergoing a transformation after decades of decline. People who come back in a year say they can't believe the pace of development and restoration in the city. New restaurants and entertainment options are opening every week.
Want to visit the Ford F150 assembly plant? That's 20 minutes away and is located next near the Henry Ford Museum and the Greenfield Village.
Closer to us is the trendy downtown Ferndale, with a great variety of restaurants and bars. Just up the street is downtown Royal Oak, with many walkable blocks of restaurants, breweries, shops and unique bars, most unique and locally owned..
Want high-end shopping? Go to downtown Birmingham, which is about 15 minutes north.
