2 Bedrooms, 3 Full Baths. On 7 Secluded Wooded Acres
We have family in OH and fell in love with the area on our first visit. We love hiking and the seclusion of the cabin. It is a true escape for us.
Elizabeth purchased this Cabin in 2013
Why Elizabeth chose South Bloomingville
We love the open floor plan and wall of windows. Being on top of the highest hill in South Bloomingvile provides us with unobstructed views of the surrounding area.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love the feeling of an outdoor spa and tried to create this with the built into the side of the hill, hot tub that is surrounded by rock water falls. A unique feature for any cabin in the area.

Beautiful log cabin
We loved our stay at the cabin. My only complaint was the twin beds. I felt like I was going to roll off either side while I was sleeping. The cabin has a beautiful feel to it. The kids loved the ping pong, table and the hot tub.
What a beautiful cabin! My fiancé and I got away and stayed at here and it was extremely home-like and lovely. The hot tub was very amazing as well! I only wish there were more pans because.. as I cook much... I brought nearly everything, but pans and there was only a couple small ones that weren’t very helpful to me. Also the driveway, as the property info. says is extremely steep and difficult to get up, so make sure you have a vehicle that can do the job! However, besides the pans, it was extremely beautiful and home- like.. I highly recommend this beautiful cabin :)!
Hello! Thank you for your comments. We have not been back but are planning to bring more pans with us when we do.
Home away from Home
Elizabeth was amazing and so was the property. We have made Hocking hills a family’s tradition, and this was our favorite cabin yet! Had everything we needed and more. Thanks for everything, we look forward to our next visit!
Natural beauty abounds
This was a beautiful (and clean) cabin in a beautiful setting. My kids enjoyed the hot tub and downstairs games a lot! I was sad the dart board was not there (only the cabinet was) since my husband and I have one at home and love playing. I’m a light sleeper and had trouble sleeping through the natural creaks and groans of the logs/wood. Overall, the weekend was quite lovely. If you book, just make sure you stop for groceries while you’re still in less remote areas, or you will lose vacation time running all the way into Logan. 😊
Had several issues...
This was a couples weekend away with our Brother & Sister-in-law. The drive was BEAUTIFUL but be aware that the driveway up to cabin was REALLY DIFFICULT to get up with my NEW Kia Sedona. Almost didn't make it! So be SURE you have a vehicle that does STEEP INCLINES, WELL before you choose this cabin. Upon arrival to cabin all seemed ok UNTIL... I tried using oven for our dinner. Oven wouldn't stay at 350° so we eventually gave up & had to use the grill to finish cooking our meal and then dessert. It took me til after midnight to get dessert cooked so we ended up using it for bfast. When it came time to lay down the 2 twin beds on main floor were SUPER HIGH off floor. I had to crawl into mine like a little child. After using hot tub we found that the area around the hot tub could have used some cleaning. DEFINITELY looked better in pics. Our in laws stayed in loft and there was VERY LITTLE privacy for them. You could see easily from kitchen area and could hear them talking even in main floor bedroom. They went to get a shower and water started falling through the floor. I ran up to tell her to check around shower to ensure shower curtain was in tub but floor around tub in bathroom was dry. Called owner & she couldn't understand why the oven wasn't heating (said appliances were new. No warranties though.)then remarked " we had guests last year at this time who also complained about water coming through the floor. It must be coming from inside the wall." This let me know that this had happened before & wasn't fixed. I told her not to make a special service call for oven but was told someone would try to get back to us about water coming from upstairs shower, however, we never heard another word so in-laws had to share our bathroom. They lock thermostats so you can't adjust the temp. Phone kept reading between 77/80 INSIDE the whole weekend. In evening we opened windows for cooler air. We like it at least around 72. It was UNCOMFORTABLY warm most of the stay. The fridge just barely kept food cool, NOT cold. The freezer kept going from 10° down to -2° then back up & took all night for 16oz bottle of water to freeze. With 4 of us using 4 wine goblets we ran out of ice. By morning still only 4 ice cubes. We also had quite a To-Do list left for us to have to do before leaving. I've never had so many things to do before leaving a residence. We rent often in all different states. I'm not sure we will return. Wish it could've been better!
I am speechless. I honestly do not even know how to respond this is the polar opposite to all of our other reviews. We had just stayed in the cabin ourselves doing maintenance the week before and experienced NONE of these issues. We clearly state on our web site and VRBO that you need a 4-wheel drive. Further, all the bedroom pictures are provided and shown on the site. Honestly does not sound like they have stayed in other cabins in the area. Ours is one of the nicest. Really an outlier of a review and I am just stunned by it,
This is a rural area - one of the few left on the East Coast where there is limited light pollution. Star gazing is amazing with views of the Milky Way right from the cabin's front driveway. We are located on 6.5 secluded wooded acres.
