About Lynne Smithwood
This home was purchased by the Romac family in 1968 and run as a bed and breakfast since 1999. As the fifth family to own this historic property in over 300 years, we enjoy sharing our stewardship with guests. Each stay includes our famous 'ten cent tour' showing period features such as our indoor smoke room, beehive oven, and the dining room used as a tavern during the Revolutionary War as well as stories about the families who have lived in this home.

Why Lynne Smithwood chose Westford
Stay in a home built when the Boston Post Road was only a dirt path in front of the house and where the mail was delivered weekly by horseback. Enjoy a fire in the original keeping room where bread was baked in an oven shaped like a beehive. Choose to have breakfast prepared from organic veggies and fruit grown on the property. Stay in one of three suites with private outdoor sitting areas or use the entire property for your special event. Our recently renovated barn is the perfect additional space for larger numbers
What makes this House unique
Guests are invited for a morning walk around neighboring ponds or hike the ski area adjacent to our home. Help pick veggies for your morning omelette or berries to topFitch House Waffles. A moonlit snowshoe through the fields completes a winters day. We can customize any stay to meet each guests needs, including our special packages with a variety of activity options. One favorite is our women's weekend including such activities as yoga, massage, skiing and hiking, an adventure to area museums and antiques shops or a guided bike tour through historic Concord and Lexington. Authors and book groups enjoy tea and fresh baked goods in front of the fire watching up to 22 different birds enjoy the feeders.

Lovely location and house
Our host, Lynne, was very nice and extremely responsive. We enjoyed the tour and history of the house she gave us on arrival. Our family of 10 thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The ski area next door was a plus.
Lynne was very responsive with some small Issues due to the extreme cold. She took care of us very well and was anxious to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
Definitely recommend this house and this host.
Worked out perfectly for our large family!
Overall, we had a great time at the Fitch house. If you are expecting modern, you will be disappointed. Instead, it is a 1700's built home converted to a B & B. It has everything you need. The bedrooms are cozy and the linens are nice. The homeowner, Lynne, was fabulous. She met us at the house and gave us a tour and a complete history of the property. She truly opened up her house to us. She even helped my brother coordinate shipping his golf clubs back to FL. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and the house and outside areas are full of nooks and crannies for peaceful contemplation. If you've ever wanted to experience living in a 1700's house this is your chance!
We are located minutes from historic Concord, Mass. and the mills of Lowell, Mass. Kimball's Farm, Nashoba Valley Ski Area are adjacent to the property. Gibett Hill Farm, Nashoba Winery, numerous antique and art galleries are nearby.
