Perfect spot for our group of 8 golfers. Convenient to all of the courses we wanted to play, and walking distance to Live Bait. Clean and comfortable. We will be back!

It's really very close to the beach!! Has a restaurant across the street. The rooms could use thicker curtains.... the sun comes up early and the rooms get very bright.

Beautiful home directly on the white sandy beach!!

  • 5 of 5

We've just returned from a wonderful week at this gorgeous home. The views from the 2 ocean facing bedrooms and the 2-story den/kitchen are spectacular. The house is decorated beach inspired which we loved. We had 14 in our group and everyone was very comfortable. The layout is ideal for multiple aged family members. There is ceramic tile in the lower level (beach level) with three bedrooms (one queen, one standard, and one double/single bunk) and two bathrooms of which one is in the queen bedroom which has a beautiful ocean view. There is also an extra den on this level with a fold-out couch and a pub style table and where you go out to enter the beach from the lower deck. The middle level with all laminate hardwood floors is the beautifully furnished den, two story windows, panoramic ocean view and awesome kitchen/dining which came equipped with literally everything we needed--- loads of pots & pans, 20+ plates & such and lots of prep bowls, serving pieces, wine openers, utensils, etc. There was a coffee pot, 4 bread toaster, can opener, and blender. This level also contains a street facing queen bedroom with alcove bunks right outside the door and another bathroom. Was perfect for my sister and her family with small children aged 7 and 10. We were worried that the bunks close proximity to the kitchen would make them wake up early but it was no problem at all. The 2nd level is also home to a nice deck which is partially covered. There is brand new furniture on the deck made of recycled plastic "polywood" (2 Adirondack chairs w/ottomans and a pub table with 2 nice backed chairs and 2 bar stools) and 2 small grills. This deck was our favorite place to hang out when not on the beach. It does get the morning sun while drinking your coffee but so nice, shaded, and breezy in the evening to enjoy with your favorite beverage. The 3rd level is a super nice master suite area with superb ocean views, a comfortable king bed, a private balcony (uncovered) with a brand new polywood 2 seat glider, and nice master bath as described in listing.

The location is ideal in my opinion. We were about a mile from multiple grocery stores and just a few minutes to restaurants. Parking 4 cars was hard because the street is so narrow but we managed.

There are loads of beach toys in the garage. We used the local beach service and rented umbrellas/chairs for the week at decent prices. Had a few maintenance issues and prop mgmt sent someone asap. Wifi is available.

Would be a five with some upgrades!

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the house is great! It is right on the beach and the views are gorgeous! We were very comfortable here and it is close to the grocery stores. It says it sleeps 17 however, that is with people sleeping in common rooms (One sleeper sofa in the main living room, the other in the room that leads out to the beach and the bunk beds are right off the kitchen). If you have people who rise early, its impossible not to wake someone up. In saying that, it comfortably sleeps 12 or 13. The decks are great but the lack of furniture on each deck and the current furniture is less than desirable. The current furniture has loose boards under the cushions where the seat has given out. So you have to be careful sitting down or the board comes out. Law suit waiting to happen! Maybe if they had better cushions, it would be more comfortable but the dollar store ones do not give any padding when you are sitting on a board. They do have lots of toys in the garage, so don't bring a bunch of things. All the beach chairs are rusted so bring your own. The frying pan (notice I said pan), pots and grill are all ridiculous. We actually all cracked up when we saw what we had to cook with. We made it work but for a house this size, they really need to get a full size grill and larger pots and pans. The very old vacuum smelled like an old dirty dog and we decided to stick with the sand rather than turn it on again. You ask, why not sweep, well the broom was about a 100 years old, curled on the end which made it almost impossible to sweep sand up. All the indoor furniture was nice and comfortable and the decorations are nice. I feel like I have been over-critical but this house would definitely be a 5 with new outdoor furniture on each of the three decks, a decent size grill, larger pots and pans, and a new vacuum. We would definitely stay here again! It was perfect for our two families.

Location, location, location

This is a nice place and the location right on the beach is a plus. The white sandy beaches are gorgeous! You are about a mile away from grocery stores. This place would have received 5 stars, except for a few things. Both my son, who is an energy trader and my daughter in law who is a lawyer needed to daily check into work. We only had Internet the first 2 days of our week stay. With the Internet down, they had to leave the house several times and go to the Liquid Life Cafe to plug into Internet. Not convenient and it pulled them away from family fun. Also for a house that sleeps 17 people, and we only had 10 people, the barbecue is teeny tiny, so we couldn't use it. There were no oven hot pads, and the kitchen could use a couple of LARGE skillets and large stock pots for feeding the large groups that this house holds. Also loved the pantry area and large refrigerator. To the management I would suggest you check out the dining room area windows, as they leaked so much in the storm we had on Friday, we had to use 6 bath towels to soak up water on the floor. You could use some rags and a better mop in the laundry room. Adding a couple of chairs to the master bedroom on the top floor would be nice too. The view is stellar and it would have been wonderful to have some furniture to sit on and look at the view. The bunks are nice, but only the single/double set are in a bedroom. The other single/single bunk beds are in a hallway outside a bedroom directly across from the living/kitchen area. Too noisy for little kids, when adults stay up later. Love the outdoor shower and water outlets to rinse off sand. Wish we had been told about the kids' water/beach toys in the garage, instead of bringing them. The outlay is Master suite with King bed and private bathroom on the top floor, 2nd floor is kitchen, large living room, one queen bedroom, 1 bathroom, hallway bunkbed and patio, and the bottom floor is laundry room, queen bedroom w bathroom, full bed in 2nd bedroom that shares a bathroom with the bunkbed 3rd bedroom. There is also another sitting area and door to the outside and another deck. Beware of parking out front. It is very limited, and one of our cars pulled too far forward and did not realize the cement dropped off. It cost $100 for the tow truck to get the car out of the sand. We were able to park 1 car in the garage and 3 other cars tightly across the driveway. We were offered to park at Liquid Life a mile away, but did not want to.

Big place right on the beach

  • 4 of 5

Overall, the place is great for big families or friends with kids to stay. There are 3 floors; top is a queen size private bed/bath w/oversized tub. The second floor is the main floor with large w/patio furniture, kitchen, queen, 2 built in bunks and a fold-out couch. Bottom floor has the most rooms. Kid room w/twin bunk on top, full on bottom, another bedrm w/a full & a sleeper sofa. There is bedrm w/queen bed & w/a private bathrm that would benefit from blinds being placed in that room as the sun blasts into it every morning at 6:30.

The washer and dryer for great benefit since one stays there for a week. The place needs an electric sweeper as the there is a ton of sand that gets tracked in whether or not you rinse your feet off. The floors in one day feel like you are back on the beach; makes your bed pretty gritty.

The biggest issue with this place is the internet connection. The cable/internet is in the couple's name and they live out-of-the-country so the property mgt. cannot help you when it goes down. No biggie, you say, I don't need internet. If you need to check into work at all it matters. Also, 4G on your phone is hard to come by on Orange Beach so checking Google maps for places to shop for groceries or to find a Wal-mart gets interesting. Place is expensive, but overall, it is worth it.
