Overview

About the property

5 Bedrooms, 1 Bonus Room, 3.5 Bathrooms, sleeps 12. Recommend max of 4 vehicles

A private steep paved road brings you up to the front steps of Blue Sky Vista, nestled on a mountainside amid 5 acres of forest and mountain laurels. It's private, but not in the boonies. Enjoy panoramic mountain views, including Mt. Pisgah, from the living room and expansive deck. You may see a magnificent sunset or enjoy the beauty of the early-morning clouds and mountain mist. The spacious post and beam house includes a large loft area, and there are bedrooms and a bathroom on all three levels. Cedar walls, exposed beams, and rustic Mexican tile bring a cozy-cabin atmosphere to the open living space, which has lots of windows and skylights. The eat-in kitchen is big and inviting and features a central island with a Keurig coffee maker and an assortment of K-cups. The furnishings are casual and comfortable, and it's easy to find a private spot for reading and relaxing. Outside, the deck offers plenty of space for entertaining, the yard's a great place for the kids to play, and a walking trail circles up the mountain to a bench from which you can enjoy a high-perch view. Why Jenny Brunet chose Fairview

When we first saw this property, we were struck by the privacy (5 acres), the gorgeous views, and the unique house. The post and beam structure and Mexican tile is inviting and creates a lodge-like atmosphere.

What makes this house unique

Mountain views can be seen from the deck and living room. The new (summer 2014) hot tub that seats six and provides mountain views is hard to beat!

Guestbook comments from the manager

What a wonderful place for a family reunion/ gathering to celebrate our mothers 90th birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities that were provided. Lovely view, great house and convenient location. Recommend doing the Lake Lure Boat Tour!

Close in but still private and remote

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful time at this cabin outside Asheville in the small town of Fairview. Access to interstate and businesses for groceries and gas were close by but the cabin location was very private and remote. There are wonderful views from the property. The home has a larger than normal kitchen for cooking and prep with gas range. The layout was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 4 children so that we could divide up sleeping arrangements accordingly. Everyone enjoyed the whirlpool tub each evening. Children made use of the small study off the kitchen, with a tv, for their play spot. Two large laundry rooms made clean up easy. Beds were very good. The living and entertainment areas are spread out enough that we weren't in each others way. We would definitely include on a return visit to Asheville.

Our stay was wonderful! We especially loved the kitchen. The hot tub was fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Everything about the house was great! There was plenty of room and it was extremely comfortable. It was cool so the hot tub felt great! The focal point was the kitchen and we spent a lot of family time there. The living room was great for conversation and games. It was conveniently located near Asheville but mainly it was fun to spend time together at the house. We would love to come back and visit again.

This house was perfect for an annual friends mountain getaway! Close to hiking, plenty of great restaurants and breweries nearby, amazing hot tub, plenty of room for all to spread out but still have privacy. We're all excited to return next fall!!

Beautiful property with lots of space!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is a perfect retreat, but close enough to Asheville to still go into town and have fun. The view is unbelievable, and the place comes with everything you could need. We only had two small snags while there. The only corkscrew was one of those little plastic jobs, and half of it was missing, so opening wine was tough. However, we bought one while there and left it so problem solved! The second issue is the driveway. It is VERY steep, and can be tough with wet roads and falls leaves messing up traction. Luckily, all of our folks had SUVs. However, one did go off the road just a bit at the bottom of the driveway. Anyone coming to visit should simply be prepared for that, I definitely recommend a vehicle that can handle hills. Overall though, it's a wonderful place worth spending time at. It's an especially good value for housing lots of folks! Thanks

Great home and beautiful views

  • 4 of 5

The house is great! We all loved it. We only had two minor issues. The road and driveway scared everyone. It is real easy in the dark to miss the turns. The tv had 3 remotes next to it and no explanations. I suggest a little note to explain what works with what.

I would absolutely stay here again.
