Comfortable light house sleeps 7 with 3 spacious bathrooms
Experience something new and different. Cape Footprints offers you the opportunity to stay in a spacious modern round house made with sandbags. Located conveniently between George and Knysna on South Africa's unique Garden Route, the house offers uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean where dolphins and whales are regularly sighted. Kleinkranz beach is a mere 2minute walk from the house.
The house comfortably sleeps 7 people (two double, one twin and one single room). There are 3 bathrooms with walk-in showers, a very spacious and well equipped kitchen with a cooking island, an indoor braai (BBQ) and a living room that overlooks the sea. There is a handmade ceramic firepot for chilly evenings. In the back is a traditional Zanzibar bench offering a perfect place for sundowners. Downstairs is a garage with ample space. We have a water-wise indigenous garden in the front and back.
The area offers opportunities for a multitude of activities and a mosaic of ecosystems for both adults and children alike – hiking, golfing, canoeing, cycling, paragliding, bungee jumping, elephant park, monkey land to name but a few. The area has a number of excellent local markets selling local produce and many different restaurants offering a fine dining experience. The local shop is only a few minutes away.
Enjoy a montage of land and seascapes from the comfort of the living room and fall asleep with the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore.
I look forward to sharing our precious space with you.

About Dolar Vasani
The house is designed by Shakeel Kadri, my brother-in-law in the shape of two feet, hence the name. It started as a self build project in 2007 and later was completed by Bertie Basson, a wonderful man and local builder. The house is owned by four people - Kalpana and Shakeel live in London; Dolar and Marjan live in Johannesburg.
Dolar Vasani purchased this House in 2010
Why Dolar Vasani chose Wilderness
Its DIFFERENT in many ways - the shape, the building materials and the fact that there is little distinction between the in and the outside. Its built to maximise the sun so there is always a spot in the back or front where you can enjoy this free energy. Our water wise garden attracts many different species of birds so it's a great place to just hang out with a pair of binos. The views are of course not comparable to other places. You can enjoy the crashing waves of the Indian Ocean from the comforts of the living room.
What makes this House unique
All guests comment about the unique energy of the house. People with very busy and hectic lives have found Cape Footprints to be their haven and a perfect place to re-charge their batteries. All are sad to leave....
