About the Property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath w/ full Kitchen, Deck, and BBQ

CABIN #3 (upstairs)

Cabin #3 is our least expensive cabin, but it still quite comfortable. We may eventually get around to remodeling the unit, but so far we decided to keep in vintage and keep in reasonably priced. The cabin is not lacking anything you need at the lake. It has a comfortable queen bed, full bath with shower (shower is a bit small for a big big person) and combined living room, dining area and kitchen. It goes without saying the cabin comes with everything including, cookware, dishware, range, microwave, coffee maker, flat-screen tv with satellite, recliner chairs and a sofa sleeper for a second guest. Also has a great little deck with a BBQ overlooking our fishing pond.

The cabin is located at Coy and Wilma’s Seasonal Campground, which is located on the west side of Rend Lake just a few minutes south of Hwy 154. The cabin is ideally located for recreational boaters and fisherman as it is within ¼ mile of the boat launch facilities at the North Sandusky Campground. It is also a perfect hunting outpost as it is just minutes away from over 20,000 acres of the richest hunting preserves in the region. Also consider bringing your bike, because we are just across the street the Rend Lake Bike Trail which winds through some of the nicest woods and beaches in the area.

Our drive through parking lot will accommodate vehicles of any size including trucks hauling trailers boats, and RV’s of any length. Our parking area is safe and secure for any length of stay.

CAMPSITES can also be rented at the campground. Electric and water only and full hookup sites available. Access to shower house and fish cleaning stations are available between April 1st and November 1st.

1. No smoking in cabin allowed.
2. Unfortunately, no pets allowed.
3. No linens are provide and no daily maid service is provided.
4. There is no wifi at this time.
5. This is a second floor unit with stairs to get to and from unit.

Rend Lake is a relatively shallow lake and is quite popular and productive for both sport and commercial fisherman alike. At 18,900 acres, it is one of Illinois largest and best lakes for fishing Crappie, Channel Catfish and Hybrid Striped Bass and Bluegill. Fisherman have also started to talk about the opportunities for taking out large flathead catfish as well. Also, a commercial fishing program is conducted each winter which allows the general public to purchase fresh buffalo, carp and other commercial species.

Rend Lake has earned the reputation of being one of the best waterfowl hunting areas in the state for ducks and geese. The Rend Lake Hunting Preserve managed by the Rend Lake Conservancy district features dams located across the Big Muddy River and Casey Fork Creek. The upstream areas they impound, are planted to a variety of crops and flooded when mature for optimum waterfowl hunting. There are goose pits at Whistling Wings Access Area and staked locations throughout the Casey Fork Sub impoundment. There also are considerable acreages at high elevations that provide excellent habitat and opportunity for archery and firearm deer hunting. Another popular attraction is the annual controlled pheasant hunt held at Wayne Fitzgerald State Park.
