About Angelle Onsrud
I grew up near this location and wanted to get closer to family and friends when my husband and I retire. Managing the guest house has become somewhat of a 2nd career for me. I love meeting new people from other areas and sharing our beautiful property with them.
Angelle Onsrud purchased this House in 2013
Why Angelle Onsrud chose Cleveland
This property provided the privacy and lake frontage we wanted. This area has so much to offer for recreational and cultural activities. The property is shared with our home, however, the houses are divided by pine trees offering privacy for guests.

Perfectly appointed guesthouse & awesome vacation spot
This vacation getaway was better than advertised. The home is very well appointed and stocked. It is set up ideally whether you have a large family or using it as a couples getaway. It is a very reasonable walk down (distance-wise, however not handicap accessible) to the shoreline of Lake Michigan and once you get there you will not be disappointed. The shoreline on this property was mostly sandy and was more generous than the neighboring properties. There is also a large sandbar just past the shore which makes it great for recreation. The hosts, Angelle and David, were very kind and accommodating.
On the Shores of Lake Michigan
We spent a girls weekend at this lovely home and had an excellent time. Close to Sheboygan and Manitowoc it sits on the shores of Lake Michigan. There were places to walk, shop and just plain relax! It was fabulous!
Words are inadequate, but I'll try...
For months we planned and pinched pennies to enable getting away for a few days for our 25th anniversary. Toward the end it seemed that the universe was conspiring against our going, but we remained determined. As you can imagine, our expectations grew and grew. It'd be easy to enable the unachievable in our minds but for the reality we experienced which eclipsed all fantasy, wild and otherwise. The guest house is everything the VRBO described. Missing, however, in the description was the differentiating and critical contributor to the experience - the host family. Angelle and David, and their commical overgrown puppy made us feel like we were visiting distant but loved family. We will miss them most of all - at least until we can return.
Now, if you're holding out for summer, and you may, you'd be depriving yourself of the fall and winter wonder that this property offers. Leaves changing, falling, exposing the hidden places deer and other animals hide, and eventually being covered in beautiful white snow - all with the beauty and mystery that Lake Michigan offers when the winds howl and stir. Of course you may elect to watch it all play out from one of the many balconies, or through the plethora of panoramic windows, but why when you can take a short walk right to the beach and commune with Nature as God presents it.
The location is ideally centered between Manitowoc and Sheboygan, each a short but idealic country drive away. Lots of wonderful state parks, sand dunes, trails too plentiful to count. ...or just hide away in or near the home and catch up on all that reading you've been putting off (or write that novel churning in your head). The home seems way off the beaten path (like witness protection program remote), yet nowhere near inconvenient should you want to run to a store or restaurant.
We havent seen that many stars at night in a long, long time. Thanks for setting that up.
The home is fully equipped with everything one could want or need to cook in or out, ...well, only you can determine your food preferences, as it should be.
Decor was perfect. Tasteful. Not overdone. Simple. Very modern appliances. Furnishings were all more comfortable than our own. Gas fireplace in the walk-out master bedroom next to king bed. Adjacent bathroom with really, really great water pressure in the shower. Gas grill outside. Firewood-stocked ring out on the sandy beach next to plentiful furnishings to rest and contemplate on.
Beautiful setting and lovely guest house!
This is a wonderful guest house with great hosts! The guest house sits back from the Lake, but is designed to take in both Lake and meadow views. The large deck off the kitchen offers a great view of the Lake, and the meadow path down to the beach is magical with natural grasses and wildflowers. The landscaping and house are meticulously maintained. Angelle greeted me on our arrival and checked in with us during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. (We lacked for nothing--the house has it all!) The hosts are gracious and welcoming without being intrusive. The house is well equipped, and its design is perfect for a family. There is a big, open kitchen/dining/living area upstairs with bathroom for when the group wants to gather, and two large bedrooms downstairs with a bathroom for privacy. The upstairs room with the trundle bed allows for two more guests. There are things to do within driving distance, but this is a quiet get-away off the main road--a place to relax and unwind. While it rained during our stay, the waves from the Lake were mesmerizing, and we enjoyed walks in the adjacent nature preserve.
Absolutely beautiful from the house to the property
Perfect balance of being away from everything and close to everything. When you are at the house overlooking Lake Michigan or at the beach on Lake Michigan or walking the nearby trails you feel very remote and isolated....but when you wish you are only 15 minutes from many neat attractions covering all the categories from food to recreation to shopping to antiquing....We loved Pine River Dairy, great cheese and .25 cent ice cream cones. ....and if you need anything you are only minutes away from all the conveniences you need.
The owners Dave and Angelle are also awesome.
Everything was perfect
My husband and I stayed at this gorgeous guest house for a week. The house is super clean and well cared for; it is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities anyone can want/need, with a lovely view of Lake Michigan. Angelle and Dave are very helpful hosts and gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to sightsee; they thought of everything to make us feel right at home and spoiled us to boot!. This guest house is a perfect place to enjoy a Wisconsin vacation. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us.
