About this property

Taffy Buoy private canal front pool home overlooking mangrove preserve

Taffy Buoy is a newly built 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home on a quiet street opposite a scenic mangrove preserve, 1/4 mile from the Gulf beaches and 1 mile from Time
Square and Margaritaville.

From the dock see dolphins, ospreys and wading birds. Relax in or by the swimming pool, or overlook the canal from the elevated back deck. Inside, the home is well appointed with a modern coastal decor.

The living room features a dining area that comfortably seats six, a central island with seating for 3 and lots of natural light from the sliding door leading to the back deck.

The house has three bedrooms with 3 queen size beds: a master with en suite bathroom and walk-in closet, and two bedrooms sharing a second full bathroom with a tub. All bedrooms include plenty of storage for clothes.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and eating in, with a central island. Off the kitchen is a laundry room with washer and drier.

We advise that there is no elevator, only stairs. There is no screened deck, but it is our experience that screens can impede the view without keeping "no see 'ums" out.

The pool is heated from mid-October to mid-April and we provide kayaks (double and single) with 3 adult and 1 child's life jackets. A sturdy outside high top table and chairs under the deck with fans overhead, provide a shady outdoor seating area to eat and socialize, especially if cooking at the gas grill.

Whether you’re unwinding after a day of adventure or enjoying a quiet morning, this terrific spot feels like a true home away from home. Make your holiday one for the books with a stay at our place.

February and March are the high season months and are 7 day minimum Saturday to Saturday rentals only. Please message us with any questions.

No overnight mooring of boats on the dock or blocking of canal channel

We had a wonderful stay at Taffy Buoy! It was a perfect place for our family to relax and enjoy the sunshine and pool! The house was very clean and host/property manager were both very responsive if we had questions. The outdoor space was great at all times of day - enjoying a cup of coffee, swimming, or evening cards at the table. While we didn’t use the kayaks we loved that the option was available.We love this quiet street that is a quick walk to the beach, coffee, or food but away from the busy downtown area. Our kids loved all the wildlife watching - so many different birds enjoying the mangroves and canal. We are so glad we found another great place to enjoy a week away from the cold Midwest weather to make memories with our family! It was also great to see how Ft. Myers Beach continues to build back up year to year - there were definitely more things opening back up compared to last spring break

Anton (from Wales - hence the Taffy Buoy) and Kim live in South Florida, with their family and came to Fort Myers Beach first time in 2009 and loved the place. We bought Taffy Buoy 1 in 2012 and hosted guests for 10 years until Hurricane Ian destroyed the house. We have just rebuilt and welcome you to Taffy Buoy 2.

Why they chose this property

We like the fact it is a quiet residential street but close to all the amenities (beach and town centre) as well as the canal with Bay access and no houses opposite us on the canal.

What makes this property unique

Private pool and fenced back yard, backing up to the canal with dock for kayak launch and dolphin watching. It has a second floor back deck with great views as you drink morning coffee or evening drinks. The property has plenty of sunny and shady spots, as well as an outdoor shower for washing off seawater and chlorine, or cooling down.
