Great Place to Stay Near Heredia

Our experience with this casita was entirely satisfactory. We were of course concerned about the one negative review, but having lived in the house for three weeks, it is clear that those reviewers brought their problems with them. Anybody who can’t open a standard sliding window without breaking it or who can’t comply with clear posted directions to keep paper out of the toilet should not be allowed out of the house—much less out of the country—without their mother. The unit was fully-equipped (better than most of the vacation rentals that we have experienced), spacious, and comfortable. The walk into town where we were taking language classes took about 45 minutes, but we could have taken buses or taxis if we hadn’t felt like walking. A very complete, modern grocery store is nearby, with a smaller-scale convenience store on the corner. The owner of the unit was at all times very responsive and helpful. The only negative thing that we experienced is that one of the near neighbors (we are not sure which one) has a pack of small dogs who do a lot of barking, but that kind of issue is likely to come up in any attached housing community. If we return to this part of Costa Rica, we would be happy to rent this unit again.

Cozy and Beautiful House

Cozy house is fully equipped in a beautiful gated community. We enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again. Centrally located...Wal-Mart is a three minute drive and lots of restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this property for families!

Awesome place to stay!!!

It is an excellent place to stay! This is my second time I have stayed at this location. My first time was in 2015, and since I liked so much, I stayed the second time around. It is kept neat and clean. The backyard has outside furniture: four chairs, and a table; a swing for two persons. The grass is green and luscious; it has papaya tree where you can have papaya fruit once is ripe. You get enough sunshine too! A couple of supermarkets, as well as restaurants, are near. You have a second floor where you can relax and watch TV. You can bring your laptop to do whatever you need to do via the internet. The router has a good wireless range power where you can get connected internet anywhere on the first floor. Most important it is close to SJO airport. I highly recommend this location.

Good value!

We enjoyed our stay! Roomy, that extra half bath was great! As was the upstairs tv area..... Great location for local bus transportation. Will recommend to friends and family! Owner very accomodating!😀

You get what you pay for

The property was not what we expected. There were several huge coach roaches that were throughout the Condominium and we had to exterminate so I believe the place had an infestation that should have been taken care of prior to us taking occupancy of the property. There were windows that did not lock and the owner was not always reachable. The manger of the property would not return phone calls so if we had a problem which we had several such as the toliets not flushing properly or if a door was locked and we could not get in we had to wait and call security to get someone to open the door. The security was good an extremely helpful. But the furniture on the property was dated and not comfortable to sit on. We were so unhappy that for our 10 day trip we left after 7 days of disappointment in the place and checked into a hotel. The owner did not even check on us after we cleaned up and made sure the apartment was in the shape we left it in we recieved. I expect a refund for the days we did not use as well as a security deposit but we will see if the owner will do the right thing. I would not recommend this property for a family visiting Costa Rica wanting to take advantage of the sights of Costa Rica. Too far away from San Jose where the hotels cater the tours. In the end you get what you pay for. Dissatisfied constumer.The people of Heredia were wonderful and I enjoyed this part of the trip, but not this place.

Lovely, cozy house

I loved the house, we fell in love with it. You will feel so cozy inside. It´s fully furnished so you don´t have to worry about anything. I felt like being at home. A very quiet neighbourhood which is close from bars, malls, restaurants and supermarkets. It has a lovely garden and two bedrooms (a master bedroom and a two-bed bedroom). I truely recommend this place to anyone looking for renting a beautiful house in the city. You will feel like being at home. Finally, the landford is a very nice person, easy to talk to and open to help you to find places you need to go.

Relaxing home!

First, the best part of staying in this home was the communication with the owner from the time of our initial inquiry right up until departure. She was wonderful and very helpful! The home is truly her home and well outfitted with everything you need. We especially appreciated the lovely backyard retreat and being able to use the full-size washer and dryer. The location is good, just minutes from the airport and main access roads for getting around. There were three grocery stores (love Auto-Mercado!) within a couple miles. Only the two of us stayed so we were able to spread out our stuff and get organized after several weeks of travel but the home would easily accommodate another couple. The manager lives nearby and was very responsive. She is quite good using "google translate" since our Spanish is weak and she speaks little English. It was a pleasant stay.

Awesome place to stay

We can not expressed in words how just right this beautiful home was for us three. The home was just like an extension of our home. It is neat, center place where we wanted to go. It has all the cooking gears, dishes, dishwasher, washing and dryer machine, studio room with wifi, juice extracter, iron and ironing board and many other things. There were many market places to go get grocery. Another thing I would like to mention that this fine home is logistically situated; near and easy to go to the international airport, near to car rental (I rented a car from Payless Car Rental which I would highly recommend). The bottom line: Excellent place to stay and I personally will rented again in my next trip to Costa Rica.

Heredia is a great place to visit and this condo is very close to easy and inexpensive transportation (bus). The condo itself was so well equipped it was like a full house exchange - for example, washer/dryer (and happily the instructions for the w/d were in English!), dishwasher, iron and ironing board, pressure cooker and a juicer (great for those oranges from the farmer's market!). One evening a storm took out the power in the area, and we were happy to have the condo's flashlight and candles/matches. The condo was large, clean and well maintained. In fact, the first day we were there the maintenance man, William, came to introduce himself and ask if we needed anything. The wi-if was excellent as was the cable TV. We really enjoyed the upper level which was very comfy and provided lovely views of the hillsides and city lights. One thing to note is that this complex is on San Jose's flight path - not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Heredia has an excellent farmer's market on Saturdays - we spent HOURS wandering around the stalls. Close to the condo are three major grocery stores within walking distance and a Walmart about a mile away. We did rent a car for day trips which was helpful, but not necessary. The neighborhood was safe and the condo complex is secured and has a gate keeper. We met a neighbor and enjoyed tea with him one morning. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and recommend this property. 😃

Beautiful home!!

I rented this place in May 2015 for a week and my family and I had the best time ever!! The backyard was perfect. I traveled with my husband and baby daughter. We enjoyed breakfast in the backyard every morning. The house was spacious, comfortable and it was equipped with everything you could possibly need. This house was super close to downtown Heredia, stores and mall. It was very convenient. The owner, Ingrid, was very pleasant from the very beginning and made our stay a very memorable one. I highly recommend this house.

Our First Experience in Costa Rica

We started our exploration and new adventure by staying here. It was PERFECT! We arrived and immediately opened all the windows just to let the cross breezes of Heredia blow in. (It seems that there was a wind all the time) My boys (3 of them) and husband were thrilled. The next day when my husband was working (which to note...there was great wifi and internet) the boys and I set off on a walk of the neighborhood to see what was available. We found the great Fresh Market and then walked down the street a little further and found AutoMercado. Perfect...check on my list for a great grocery store, because I like to cook. Next, we visited the park in the gated community and by then it was nap time for the little one. Then everyday at around 4:30 pm, we piled in the car and went and explored the town of Heredia. Bustling and Busy and AWESOME. Thank you so much for a great place for us to start our adventure, it helped that we rented for a week just to get our barrings. We are off to another place and another home, but we will remember our time in Heredia. It was nice to know it was safe and secure and we could sleep with all the windows open. PS...Especially loved my morning coffee out in the enclosed garden/courtyard in my pajamas.

Secure neighborhood, centrally located

My spouse, two year old daughter and myself stayed for 17 days at this location. It is not very-toddler friendly, there are a lot of knick-knacks and glass furniture that I was terrified my child would damage because of being a normal toddler, there is also an upstairs that we figured out how to block so she wouldn't be in danger. Also important to note is that since this is centrally located it isn't quiet during the holidays (we were there for Christmas and New Year's Eve), but normally the neigborhood has a regular level of noise and is very pleasant. It is also on the flight path for many airlines so if you are highly sensitive to noise, this might not be the place for you. Overall we really enjoyed it, it has wonderful ventilation that keeps the house cool at all times (no air conditioner here), the backyard is a lovely place to enjoy your time. The neighborhood is very secure and we always felt very safe. The upstairs has wonderful views and if you like watching planes, you'll really enjoy yourself. The house itself is very well equipped with just about everything you can think of except trash bags, we had to purchase those ourselves. The neighborhood also has two exclusive and lovely playgrounds if you travel with children, our daughter really enjoyed them! The owner and the property manager were both lovely people who were prompt, thorough and helpful - we really enjoyed working with them and if the occassion arises would like to stay here again.

Heaven in Heredia

This place is awesome and it was perfect for my family. It was very secure - guards at a locked gate 24/7- we could sleep with open windows and we could leave the doors open to get the cool breeze. There is no air conditioning but we were cool all the time all over the house...sometimes we were actually cold! I had to work while I was there and the wifi was excellent-worked all over the house. My grandchildren watched movies on Netflix on their laptops and tablets all the time. The office has a beautiful view of the mountains. We had easy access to everything by walking or bus or taxi. Security made sure a taxi had been ordered before entry was allowed. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and the security guards are friendly and helpful. When inquiring about the property and making reservations, the owner responded promptly and thoroughly and the manager was great as well. She was really helpful when there was a breakdown in communication with a taxi driver about how to get to the house. The taxi driver called her cell and she happily gave him directions. Everything was just as the owner listed. I highly recommend this property and would stay again and again if the opportunities arise.

My private backyard can be enjoyed 24/7: take in the sun, have your meals, and at night entertain your family and friends in a softly lid atmosphere.

I love the convenience: Two supermarkets up the block, Papa John's Pizza, the gated community with friendly guards. Never have to worry about the safety of my house. Restaurants are within walking distance, the bus stop within an 8-min. walk. Automercado, famous for its international foods, has a low-fee ATM.
And, of course, my private sunny backyard with its newly installed soft lighting to enjoy evenings outside the house.
