About the property

Luxury Split-Level Cottage For 2+, Cal King, HDTV, WiFi, whirlpool tub for two

The Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is a Craftsman style private Guest House with the best privacy and views in the area. Our excellent reviews relate our high standards for quality and service.

The Mountain Hideaway is full of designer grade appointments with CAL King bed, whirlpool bathtub, full kitchen, dining room, and private deck with barbecue. The Hideaway has central air conditioning for a perfect summer retreat.

The comfortable living room includes remote control fireplace, HD satellite TV with networks, cable news, HBO, ESPN's, and Sirrius radio.

There is WiFi from satellite internet. It is limited to standard email and browsing the web. To provide internet access for each guest we suggest no internet video and the daily data on WiFi is limited to 300MB per day for guests.

A full kitchen and breakfast bar is provided with all the cookware, plates and utensils you'll need for a quick breakfast or gourmet meal. It's complete with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area is surrounded by 180 degree mountain views.

The luxurious bath suite includes a 6' whirlpool bathtub for 2, Italian marble shower, radiant floor heat and morning light through private windows. The Hideaway is located in a forested mountain community within the gates of Yosemite Park.

The Hideaway is a luxury house for 2 but can accommodate up to 3 with the extra guests sleeping on a portable mattress on the floor in the living room area. Our property is a unique home and may not be suitable for children under 4 yrs old due to open stairs, fireplace and steep mountain terrain surrounding the Hideaway. There is a $25 or $35 (depending on the season) per night, per extra guest for the 3rd person or child staying at our cottage. The floor plan is an open design with bedroom above the living room.

Weeklong stays include use of the laundry room in the cottage. A touch-up cleaning is also included with week stays.

Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is 11am. We will accommodate other check-in requests if possible. Plan on additional time to drive thru the Park to arrive at the Hideaway.

Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is located at 6000' elevation in Yosemite West. This unique community is located within the gates of the Park with the best central location for day tripping to Yosemite Valley, Badger Pass Ski, Glacier Point, Wawona and the Big Trees.

The high county of Toulumne Meadows is a 90 minute drive thru mountain vistas, high alpine lakes and forests of giant sequoia trees.

There is access to walking or mountain biking forest roads from the Hideaway. Skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing are a short drive to Glacier Point where you can rent all the gear you need for an epic winter adventure.

Cell service is very good for Verizon and Golden State with 3G service from the Hideaway. There is no Cell service for other carriers. Sorry it's a remote mountain location. A land-line telephone with local service is included and you may use your calling card.

CAUTION: Winter travel thru the park requires all cars/trucks to carry snow chains. Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is located on a steep access road where winter snows may require special parking conditions. Please email or call with snow condition access questions.

We look forward to hearing from you, Melissa and Jeff

Fantastic stay, unbelievable location

  • 5 of 5

The Hideaway couldn't be a nicer place to stay in Yosemite. Melissa and Jeff couldn't be nicer people.

The Hideway is beautiful down to the smallest of details. The finishes are top quality, the view is amazing, and it will make your stay in Yosemite truly special. It is a short drive into Yosemite valley and the views on the drive make it something to look forward too. The Hideway gives you a lovely place to stay and your own escape after enjoying the many things to do in Yosemite valley. Decided to stay here over the Ahwahnee and I'm so glad that I did.

Gorgeous home in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Jeff and Melissa's guest house was a great place to stay while we explored Yosemite. It is within the park boundaries, and the drive to the valley is easy with beautiful views on the way. Since it's not in the valley itself, the home is a much more peaceful location than the bustle of the valley floor. Even though we were there just after (and during) some snow, Jeff and Melissa had the stairs and drive cleared and accessible, and they were in contact about how the weather may affect access.

The guest house itself greatly exceeded our expectations; it is beautifully appointed, comfortable, very spacious for two people, and has great views to boot. We cooked dinner on two of our three nights, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The supply of board games, puzzles, and DVDs was a nice bonus that were great to enjoy by the fire after a long day of hiking. We would highly recommend Jeff & Melissa's home!

Delightful and private

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Yosemite Hideaway. The cabin is lovely with beautiful views and a great location. Jeff and Melissa have really paid attention to the details and it shows. The bed, pillows and linens were excellent, which is important to me, and everything I went looking for in the kitchen, I found. Jeff and Melissa are personable and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this property. One thing to note, on our way in, we followed our phone navigation instead of using Jeff's very specific and excellent directions. Don't do that! We got confused, backtracked, and used his directions and found it easily. I would happily stay here again.

Well Worth a Visit

  • 5 of 5

It was an extremely beautiful cabin, inside and out. The views were spectacular! Being there while snowing made it extra spectacular. Melissa & Jeff made sure all the steps were cleaned for us. They go above and beyond to take care of their clients. The place was very well stocked and equipped. Thanks so much for the detail, (lots of little goodies, bottle of nice wine, DVD movies, snacks, etc.). We absolutely LOVED the heated bathroom tiled floor! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The beautiful gas fireplace and heating systems kept us nice and cozy warm. Being inside the park was particularly great because you did not have to go through the park check in station every time; it took us only minutes to drive to Yosemite Valley.

If there has to be something negative to say, it would have to be the number of steps from our parking place to the cabin; 52 steps in all.

Overall, we’d HIGHLY recommend staying at this cabin, you’ll be pleasantly pleased.
