Overview

About the property

Luxury Split-Level Cottage For 2+, Cal King, HDTV, WiFi, whirlpool tub for two

The Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is a Craftsman style private Guest House with the best privacy and views in the area. Our excellent reviews relate our high standards for quality and service.

The Mountain Hideaway is full of designer grade appointments with CAL King bed, whirlpool bathtub, full kitchen, dining room, and private deck with barbecue. The Hideaway has central air conditioning for a perfect summer retreat.

The comfortable living room includes remote control fireplace, HD satellite TV with networks, cable news, HBO, ESPN's, and Sirrius radio.

There is WiFi from satellite internet. It is limited to standard email and browsing the web. To provide internet access for each guest we suggest no internet video and the daily data on WiFi is limited to 300MB per day for guests.

A full kitchen and breakfast bar is provided with all the cookware, plates and utensils you'll need for a quick breakfast or gourmet meal. It's complete with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The dining area is surrounded by 180 degree mountain views.

The luxurious bath suite includes a 6' whirlpool bathtub for 2, Italian marble shower, radiant floor heat and morning light through private windows. The Hideaway is located in a forested mountain community within the gates of Yosemite Park.

The Hideaway is a luxury house for 2 but can accommodate up to 3 with the extra guests sleeping on a portable mattress on the floor in the living room area. Our property is a unique home and may not be suitable for children under 4 yrs old due to open stairs, fireplace and steep mountain terrain surrounding the Hideaway. There is a $25 or $35 (depending on the season) per night, per extra guest for the 3rd person or child staying at our cottage. The floor plan is an open design with bedroom above the living room.

Weeklong stays include use of the laundry room in the cottage. A touch-up cleaning is also included with week stays.

Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is 11am. We will accommodate other check-in requests if possible. Plan on additional time to drive thru the Park to arrive at the Hideaway.

Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is located at 6000' elevation in Yosemite West. This unique community is located within the gates of the Park with the best central location for day tripping to Yosemite Valley, Badger Pass Ski, Glacier Point, Wawona and the Big Trees.

The high county of Toulumne Meadows is a 90 minute drive thru mountain vistas, high alpine lakes and forests of giant sequoia trees.

There is access to walking or mountain biking forest roads from the Hideaway. Skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing are a short drive to Glacier Point where you can rent all the gear you need for an epic winter adventure.

Cell service is very good for Verizon and Golden State with 3G service from the Hideaway. There is no Cell service for other carriers. Sorry it's a remote mountain location. A land-line telephone with local service is included and you may use your calling card.

CAUTION: Winter travel thru the park requires all cars/trucks to carry snow chains. Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is located on a steep access road where winter snows may require special parking conditions. Please email or call with snow condition access questions.

We look forward to hearing from you, Melissa and Jeff

Why Jeff & Melissa Hornacek chose Yosemite Area

We stumbled across this unique property 17 years ago and fell for it right away. We built our home 10 years ago and just finished the guest cottage this year. We enjoy sharing this special place with like-minded people who treasure the wonders of nature, enjoy quality accommodations in a quiet and private neighborhood.

We have designed and built beautiful homes in the community from large log estates to cozy private cottages. Yosemite Mountain Hideaway is the latest creation of craftsmanship and quality finishes with one of the best locations in the area.

What makes this cottage unique

The Hideaway is a new spacious and luxurious guest house for two with great big views of the park and the Sierra Nevada mountains. It sits high above thousands of acres of forests, granite domes and waterfalls in the distance. Its first rate with central air conditioning, whirlpool tub for two, HD TV and full kitchen.

Fantastic stay, unbelievable location

  • 5 of 5

The Hideaway couldn't be a nicer place to stay in Yosemite. Melissa and Jeff couldn't be nicer people.

The Hideway is beautiful down to the smallest of details. The finishes are top quality, the view is amazing, and it will make your stay in Yosemite truly special. It is a short drive into Yosemite valley and the views on the drive make it something to look forward too. The Hideway gives you a lovely place to stay and your own escape after enjoying the many things to do in Yosemite valley. Decided to stay here over the Ahwahnee and I'm so glad that I did.

Beautiful cottage in Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

Lovely, well-built and appointed cottage on a mountainside within Yosemite National Park. We enjoyed the access to the trails, without experiencing the congestion of the Village. Particularly enjoyed the outdoor deck, where we had dinner every night. A perfect vacation!

The One

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for the most beautiful, romantic, private, quiet cabin in Yosemite, look no further. This is the one you want. We use VRBO several times a year and this is by far the nicest one we have ever had. The cabin is exquisitely decorated with huge windows to take in the killer views. The jacuzzi bathtub is the largest one I have ever seen. The kitchen is stocked with all of the equipment you will need. If you pick up groceries first, skip the coffee and protein bars. There will be some waiting for you when you get there, as well as a bottle of wine. Nice touch. If you don't like stairs, look elsewhere. There are a lot of them. The bed is extremely comfortable. There are loads of books to help you decide where to spend your time in the park. There are lots of games, etc. too, in case you experience a rainy day. Much thought has gone into this rental. Rent it before someone else does.

Fantastic cabin located close to Yosemite Valley

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I recently spent 3 days at the Yosemite hideaway and loved the cabin! It is located abut 15-20 minutes from Yosemite Valley and right across from Glacier Point Rd. The cabin was very clean and had all amenities that we needed. We could tell that great care goes into its maintenance and we appreciated that. The owners left us a thoughtful welcome package and letter. The cabin was a great place to come home to after strenuous hiking all day. Yosemite itself is obviously amazing and we are already planning to come back in the future. I hope the Hideaway is available because we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

Peaceful, remote getaway

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful, well-constructed bungalow in the woods. You are truly away from it all. Absolutely recommend. Very nice amenities. Hosts are next door and a pleasure to work with. One caution...lots of stairs from parking to front door (wide, safe, well lit..we arrived at night). Would happily return!
