About the host

Hello! My name is Nick and I live in Florida. Several years ago I met my partner, Marcela, in Costa Rica while we were working together on a research project through our jobs. Marcela lives in San Jose. I recently retired and we decided to buy a property in Costa Rica that we could eventually turn into an eco-tourism and educational destination. We eventually found Casa del Río Barú and fell in love with the property.
Why they chose this property
We chose the South Pacific region of Costa Rica due to the beauty and the geographic and biological diversity of the area. Here, where the mountains meet the ocean, we found a beautiful and serene riverside location that is close to many attractions but remote enough to promote relaxation.
What makes this property unique
Casa del Río Barú is a riverside lodge with comfortable lodging accommodations and unique amenities like a guest bar/rancho, fruit trees, and a large yard/garden with access to a beautiful river. The property can accommodate up to 20 lodging guests and is the perfect location for small events such as intimate weddings, celebrations, reunions, retreats, or even a small concert.
