Overview

About the property

Beautiful Views, Georges sunsets, Twinkling Lights. Pictures don't do justice!

Welcome to the Log Chalet on the Clouds. We have had so many wonderful guest and reviews and look forward to answering any questions you may have! This beautiful 3 bedroom / 2 bath cabin is wonderful for couples, but also has plenty of room for the entire family or a group of friends. Secluded over 1500 feet above the valley, high atop Walden's Ridge in Chattanooga, the cabin overlooks the beautiful Sequatchie valley which is the longest valley in the world and is just 20 minutes from downtown and the Aquarium. You can enjoy the view from almost every room in the cabin and it literally feels like you could hang glide off the front deck. So many of my guest have called this a million dollar view and commented how the pictures on the website don't do it justice. The sunsets are absolutely gorgeous and at night when you are relaxing by the fireplace or sitting in the Hot Tub it looks like a thousand candles are lit in the valley below. There is a wonderful active 3-D TV that is not only great for the kids, but brings out the 'Kid' in all of us! There is also a 3-D TV in the kids room (bunk beds) and a TV in every bedroom. With over 500 channels and plenty of 3 D movies to choose from it can make even the occasional rainy day fun and relaxing. With a full kitchen and breakfast bar you can enjoy your meals right at home or you can venture out to the many wonderful restaurants downtown. The bedrooms downstairs are furnished, one with a queen sized memory foam bed an the other with bunk beds that are perfect for the kids or those extra friends. The upstairs loft also has a furnished bedroom with a queen sized memory foam bed that is ideal for another couple and the loft view through the large fixes glass windows is simply spectacular! My guest often comment how comfortable the beds are and they are like sleeping on a cloud. The front deck is equipped with rocking chairs and a beautiful wrought iron table and chairs to enjoy those outdoor meals and relaxation. With the seclusion of the mountain, yet only 20 to 25 minutes from downtown and the Aquarium there's is just so much to do in Chattanooga. Weather you want to visit Rock City , Ruby Falls, go hiking, spelunking or even white water rafting there is something to do for all ages and every interest. I hope you get a chance to check out the list of different adventurers and fun things to do in Chattanooga that is provided on my website. I also hope that you get a chance to not only read the wonderful reviews for my Log Chalet on the clouds but also get a chance to read all the 5 out of 5 star reviews for my other smaller 1 bedroom cabin as well. You can find it on the Homeaway and VRBO websites as well and it is called Log Cabin in the Clouds. In over the last 10 years, I am proud to say that not only do I have over 185 - Five star reviews, but many of my guest have returned year after year and referred so many family and friends which I appreciate and consider the highest compliment of all. I hope you will get a chance to visit either one of my cabins, or bring your entire family and friends and rent them both! They are far enough apart to give complete privacy, yet with a beautiful stair way and trail that ties them together you can get together and meet up for dinner, conversation and a night by the fire pit. I very much appreciate the chance to give you a fantastic vacation or get-away experience. I know you will enjoy them as much as everyone else has!

We love to take families and friends out on a truly unique experience that overs tours on Lake Chicamauga, Downtown by the Aquarium, the Bluffview Art District, the Tennessee River Gorge, Nickajack Lake and what many call the Little Grand Canyon. Swim, Fish, Tube, Eat, Drink, Relax and Explore! Please feel free to call me with any questions you may have and my goal is to make your visit a wonderful experience! Thanks, Wyn Walker /Owner

About Wyn Walker

My brother and I built my Log Cabin in the Clouds 9 years ago with our own 4 hands. I have had such wonderful guest and so many return year after year that my dream was to build a larger Log Chalet that would accommodate up to a party of 6 very comfortably. With my brother Kerry's architectural design help and the help and encouragement of many of my guest, family and friends, I am proud to present, The Log Chalet on the Clouds! So many of my guest have stayed year after year that many of them have become my friends. It is through their return visits and referral of friends that made this all possible.

Wyn Walker purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Wyn Walker chose East

I hope all the 5 Star reviews from my Log Cabin in the Clouds and my Log Chalet on the Clouds along with the pictures will speak for itself! The most amazing thing about this log cabin is that we built it on the side of the bluff with an amazing view of the beautiful Sequatchie valley. It is the longest valley in the world with sunset views that are simply amazing. At night it looks like a thousand candles are lit in the valley below. Please check out my beautiful new Boat that i now offer for wonderful River and Lake Adventures. Check us out at BlueheavenrivertoursChattanooga.com

What makes this cabin unique

Fresh air and plenty of great places to go and awesome places to see. The Log Chalet on the Clouds was built my my brother, Kerry, with my help and it was built quite amazingly on the side of the mountain! I also own BlueheavenrivertoursChattanooga.com and offer amazing ways to enjoy the water! Check out the Link at the top of the page under Links and Videos for more information!

Everything as good as advertised

  • 5 of 5

For frequent travelers of VRBO this is a top 5, in our stays which include Hawaii, Minnesota's north shore, Michigan's Porcupine Mts, and downtown Nashville. Everything you need to have a relaxing stay in the Tennessee mountains was available including menus to all the restaurants and travel guides to all the must see's. Southern hospitality at Wynn's Cabin is the real deal, we even had some organic carrot cake. Hope to visit again so much to see so little time. we stayed 3 days should have made it a week.

Great Place To Stay

  • 5 of 5

Wynn and his family built a beautiful place.

If you're looking for a place that's quiet, rustic and very cool...you'll want to stay here.

It's clean and you'll certainly enjoy your time there.

Our trip was too fast to truly enjoy it!

Thanks for the great place to stay.

Should be 5 stars

  • 3 of 5

The cabin itself is great and deserves a 5 star rating, but the "property manager" destroyed that chance. He lives 30 feet from the cabin and watches you come in and leave. He cares about his French drain more than anything in this world and will get extremely frustrated over the parking situation. His windows face the cabin which is also unsettling. If you are going to rent out your place, you need to put your trust in the renters. Being supervised and hassled from the moment you arrive takes away from the experience of renting such a beautiful property. The views are spectacular, you can see for thousands upon thousands of miles. Just be prepared for some uncomfortable interactions with the property manager.

Owner's Response: (Btw, the RV is on the 2 1/2 acre lot next door and about 300 feet away with a privacy fence and the shaded windows are blocked by trees.) Wow! Some reviews are just difficult! It is interesting that the only time we get a negative review is when we either have a bad guest who tries to sneak in extra guest or does something wrong. The property manager simply did his job and these were problem guests who had an attitude and drank too much beer and Jack Daniels to care. We rented to Whit B. and he was bringing 5 friends and they were all young and ready to party. We had problems from the beginning with being told there would be 6 guests and then that a 7th was coming for hamburgers and then he would be leaving. The 7th guest, Kody F. (who wrote this review), shows up and parks off the driveway. My property manager, Kerron, walked over to talked to him and explained the parking situation, which was simple, and had him park his truck in the turn around because the driver said he would be the first vehicle to leave. When asked if he was just there for dinner, he said, "Yeah, I'm starving." Then he was asked again if he would be leaving after dinner and he then said, "No, I will be staying." So they finally settled up on the fee. The simple parking arrangement was explained and they said they understood. Next day my brother came over and saw where they had done exactly what he had asked them not to do and this pick-up truck that arrived last was still parked in the turn around area where there is even a sign that reads, "BACK IN TO TURN AROUND". One SUV had gone way over past the pick-up truck and backed over the beautiful big rocks and the end of the long french drain and another vehicle had tried to back all the way down the driveway and did a poor job of it, spinning his tires and making a mess of the driveway that had just been redone for $678.00. On the day of this incident we bought a large traffic cone to place at this location by the big rocks to hopefully insure this does not happen again. When I saw this review it was disheartening because there was nothing my property manager had done wrong. I called Whit and left him a couple of VMs and then I heard from Kerron and he had gotten through to Whit. Whit, the guy who booked the cabin, said he did not post the review and that he was not aware of it. At any rate I have to laugh to keep from crying on this one because this is all nonsense. I hope you check out my other reviews on my beautiful Log Chalet.

Beautiful views, upscale cabin, 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga

  • 5 of 5

This is our third spring spending a long weekend at Wyn's log cabin and we continue to be impressed with his attention to detail, the location and the quality of this three bedroom cabin. Enough room for everyone, including the dogs and beautiful views all year long.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here. Wyn and his brother where very helpful with everything. The cabin was spotless and was very comfortable. They got new couches in the living room and they are very comfy. The cabin is a little far from downtown Chattanooga but the ride down the mountain and into the city was beautiful. The driveway is pretty steep going towards the cabin but it's not as bad as it looks. The views are priceless and the pictures will not do it justice. We enjoyed our nights sitting in the porch watching the sunset over the valley below. We actually got a cab to come pick us up one night and it only cost us $35 to get into downtown Chattanooga to go to the bars. The cabin has everything you could need for cooking and everything was in great condition. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here and we are looking forward to coming back in the future.

Comfortable with an amazing view

  • 5 of 5

My group of four really enjoyed our stay. For my wife and I, it was our second time at the chalet in the clouds and for my friends, it was their first. For my wife and I, it was just as good as we remembered. We all four loved the view from the balcony. There is no better way to start your morning than a cup of coffee with that view. The fire pit and hot tub add to the relaxation and a 3D movie tops it off. I can't picture a more relaxing mountain getaway.
