Directly overlooking gull lake, this exclusive private residence offers spectacular views of carson peak and the june lake ski area. One of the largest log home structures ever built, the unique trophy property offers abundant space and privacy. Masterful craftsmanship and attention to detail are the hallmarks of victory lodge, an epically proportioned mountain estate built as a multigenerational legacy home.
Built with class and distinction
The massive log-and stone structure, which encompasses 16,500 square feet, blends rustic western frontier flavor with luxurious contemporary finishes and amenities. Victorian era antiques, fine furnishings and exquisitely wrought bronze and millwork throughout complement and enhance the rugged airy interiors.
A circular drive leads to the front portico, which is flanked by huge stone columns. Upon entering the residence, one is awed by the majestic dual staircase made of perfectly matched split logs. Just beyond the foyer is the expansive great room, where a towering wall of windows showcases breathtaking lake and mountain views. The world’s largest elk antler chandelier graces the great room from the thirty foot ceiling, and a hand-laid stone fireplace with copper finishes commands a central position. Another highlight is a thirty-eight foot beam with elaborate hand-carved detailing. A variety of seating areas invite both large scale entertaining and intimate conversation.
State-of-the art luxury living
The large gourmet kitchen features granite countertops, elaborate custom cabinetry, and state-of-the-art appliances. Unique fixtures and hardware are lovely accents to the gracious styling. There is also a commercial grade butler’s kitchen for entertaining convenience. Ideal for memorable repasts, the adjacent formal dining room boasts etched glass lighting and a beautiful oval oak table that seats eighteen.
The eight expansive bedrooms, which are distributed on the upper and lower levels, are appointed with fireplaces and luxurious en suite baths. Beautiful furnishings provide comfort and luxury.
On one of the upper floors, a gentlemen’s game room awaits with a minibar and various custom crafted table games. The lower level features a 80 person conference room / reception room with a full service cherry wood bar, walnut flooring, a copper stamped ceiling, enormous stone fireplace and an antique piano. Further enticements on this floor are the professionally equipped gym that includes dry and steam saunas, and the media and arcade rooms. An elevator serves three of the levels.

Tom Goodwin purchased this lodge in 2001
It has been a featured numerous times as the featured property on several different television shows and recognized as one of the most beautiful log cabins in the world.
Largest Elk Horn Chandelier in the world.
If its at all possible to be bored in the Eastern Sierra, this is an amazing sanctuary to return to after a day out on one of the lakes. Our hosts, Tom (owner) and John (caretaker) were gracious and fantastic to work with, both pleasant and approachable. Being frequent visitors to June Lake, we have seen the Victory Lodge and walked past it many times. After staying ther, it will be hard to stay anywhere else. I was worried it was a bit far from the village, but a path down connected to the path around Gull made for a quick escape to the Marina, June Lake Brewing, Cathy's Candy or the Tiger Bar. Did I mention this place it HUGE!!!! We played foosball, shuffleboard and pool at night; had a move night, a talent show and a pinball tournament. We watched deer come visit every day, and stargazing on the back deck every night. In the morning, fishing, swimming, hiking or just relaxing. Our large group never had any issues with space; quite the contrary, I got in my daily 10,000 steps just looking for people throughout this cavernous estate!
My ONLY "negative" feedback; the kitchen is so large, finding things became its own game! It needs someone to organize it.
We loved staying at the Victory Lodge and look forward to finding another reason to stay there.
We had a wonderful week! Plenty of room for 14 of us- great location- incredible views!!
Caretaker was a pleasure to work with.
We had our smallish wedding (55 Guests) at Victory Lodge this 4th of July weekend and I cannot even describe how magical the whole experience was. So here is a synopsis from start to finish:
The owner was very prompt at getting back to me with questions about the lodge and very nice in assuring that our wedding would be beautiful there. He quickly introduced me to Jenny, the day of coordinator, who was able to help answer all the wedding questions, point me to vendors, and send little check-ins. I had never been to June Lake or seen the lodge so I was planning in the dark but it all worked out perfectly. Once we got there we were absolutely blown away. We are outdoorsy people so the nature setting was what we were going for and we were blown away with the view! That deck is simply perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning or drinks in the afternoon. John Adams the lodge keeper is the sweetest man and helpful in every way. If there was a minor issue he was there to fix it and he knows the area so was helpful when it came to hikes etc. The lodge was clean and spacious and had more amenities than one could think to describe. Of course there were little quirks but we loved it all.
The master suite was amazing for us as the wedding couple. The view from the bath is glorious and the large bathroom was perfect for myself and my bridesmaid to get ready and take getting ready photos in. All the master suites were wonderful for my family and friends. The group room is smallish with bunkbeds and more for kids but my 6 adult friends were troopers and had a blast in what they called the "Adult summer camp room." The game room was an unbelievable hit with the boys having foosball, pool, and shuffleboard tournaments on the reg. Same with the lawn...they were obsessed with lawn games and the view from the lawn. They even played basketball. The double kitchen scenario was just right for all of us to have our own fridge, freezer, and cupboard space. We had two friends that played the piano so we had live music throughout the weekend which permeated the living room and bar area.
The day of the wedding was magical. Jenny was so so so helpful and she felt like part of our friend group from the start. We had done a run through and chatted the day before so I literally didn't deal with a thing on the day of. She took care of it all. We got our deposit back right away so no hassle there either. We loved it so much we are already planning our next visit! Thank you!
Big and beautiful... this property is meticulously maintained by the very personable caretaker "Little John". Awesome weight room with steam room and sauna. Unbelievable views of the surrounding mountains and lakes. One of the best propane grills I've had the pleasure of cooking on. Full game room, multiple dining rooms, More kitchen space than most restaurants. We pre ground our coffee (worried that there wouldn't be a grinder) but there were about 4 of them there. Pots, pans, spices, even alumnium foil type stuff was stocked in the kitchen. A ten minute walk into the town of June Lake you'll find Little John's art gallery, tackle shops and a great brewery (June Lake Brewing). I'm not kidding the beer was really good! I can't say enough great things. Would love to come back next year!
My project team was looking for a large venue to conduct team building and strategy making. It was important to find a location that provided plenty of space for breakout sessions for multiple teams and inspiration in a natural setting. When I originally discovered the Victory Lodge, it clear stood out in terms of size and setting. I had high expectations before arriving onsite given the description and photos. Upon arrival, the care-taker, John showed my team around the lodge, we were all completely blown away by the shear beauty and highly crafted lodge. The view of Gull lake and the snow capped mountains in the background really set the tone for our stay. The lodge had everything we needed for our activities including a fully equipped kitchen for our team dinners. As I spent time studying the build quality of the lodge (there are no short-cuts in the craftsmanship!), I would discover subtle "Easter eggs" throughout the lodge, such as the Owl poking through a logbeam. This really showed the level of detail the owner and builder took to provide a whimsical experience for the quests. Also, the photos of the place are beautiful but simply do not do it justice. When you see the Victor lodge in person, it truly is awe inspiring. A couple of words about the owner and caretaker. Tom was very responsive to my emails and phone calls and very flexible. John, the caretaker, was always available to answer questions when my team need assistance. Very accommodating. Overall, this was a range-topping experience from VRBO. Quite amazing. Thank you Tom and John.
The house is SUPER comfortable and beautiful. It has everything you might need for a vacation and MORE.
I can't wait to be back with my family.
Thank you Tom and John for your hospitality.
