About David Carr
Jan and I have lived outside of SF in San Mateo Park for almost 30 years. Before that we lived in various neighborhoods in SF and always loved the Marina. We also have a property in Sonoma which can be seen at vrbo.com/1461919.
David Carr purchased this Condo in 2014
Why David Carr chose Marina District
We bought the property with one of our best friends (she has the upper unit, we have the lower unit). We love the beauty of the unit and location. Besides being incredibly convenient to Chestnut Street (one block, bus downtown one-half block), the Presidio, Union Street, Crissy Field, Fort Mason are close by.
What makes this Condo unique
Loved the backyard which has been completely fixed up with gas fireplace, propane heater, furniture etc.

Chic Marina Condo
Wow. What a beautiful home that is beautifully and modernly decorated.
Enjoyed kitchen opened to living room so you can cook and still be with group. Close to everything. Safeway is a few blocks away, the wharf is a few blocks away and close to chestnut street so you can dine and shop . Also a crunch fitness is very close.
Beautiful home - furnished perfectly. Everything you could possibly need is here. So much to do in the area and if you love to walk to great areas this is the place for your stay. We will definitely consider returning for our next fall visit.
Great Stay in San Francisco
David's house was the perfect spot for our family during our mini vacation to the bay area. The house was exactly as described and pictured - maybe even better! The place was exceptionally clean and very well stocked upon our arrival....probably the best vacation rental we've ever had. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was exceptional (loved the Jura espresso maker), and the backyard patio was an incredibly relaxing place to unwind at the end of the evening with a glass of wine. And I haven't even mentioned location. Walkable to nearly everything you'd need or want - and if walking isn't your thing, there is almost no where in the city that can't be reached via a $10 Uber/Lyft ride. What a great place for our family - wish we could have stayed longer - and we can't wait to return!
Amazing apartment! Couldn't fault it.
We stayed in David’s apartment in early July and can honestly say we’ve never stayed anywhere nicer. It is beautifully finished and the attention to detail is second to none. The master suite is particularly beautiful with an enormous, comfortable bed and French doors opening onto the garden. It is well positioned close to the bay and within walking distance of Fisherman’s Wharf and buses and trams into the heart of the city can be caught from the next block. There are also some excellent restaurants on Chestnut Street – a 10 minute walk away. David was a superb host, extremely responsive throughout all our communications before our stay (I didn’t have any cause to contact him while we were staying at the apartment). I am famous within my family for being hard to please when it comes to holiday accommodation, but even if I try really hard, I can’t think of anything negative to say about this apartment. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it!
Great Condo with attention to detail in every aspect. Felt special just to stay there.
Lovely appointed Condo. Convenient bus stop a block away. Grocery store 2 blocks away. 3 push bikes to use. Large comfortable beds. Cable TV. Garage also available. BBQ and outdoor setting with fire pit. 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Was a pleasure doing the rental. Would rent there again and will tell my friends.
This was an amazing apartment in a fantastic position, close to public transport and shops. Plenty of room, a high end apartment which was great value. Am recommending to friends to book this apartment. Thanks for a great stay.
One block from many restaurants, bars and shops on Chestnut Street and 6 blocks to more of the same on beautiful Union Street. Walk a few blocks to Fort Mason, have lunch/dinner at Green's Restaurant or Friday Night's 'Off the Grid'. Enjoy lectures or a signature cocktail at The Interval at Long Now: Bar, Cafe & Museum and on Sundays get your veggies at the Ft. Mason's Farmer's Market. Walk a few more blocks along the Bay front, Marina Green, Crissy Field/beachfront (part of the 1400 acre Presidio National Park area with jaw dropping views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge). From Ft. Mason walk to Aquatic Park and Fisherman's wharf and catch a ferry to Sausalito/Tiburon. A half block from the 35 Stockton line (corner of Chestnut and Octavia) which runs downtown and a few blocks from the 41 and 45 bus lines (Union Street) which provide access to Union Square, North Beach, Financial District and connections to other great parts of the city.
