About Theresa Stephens

We built this home in late 2013 as a vacation home for our large family and to accommodate our son who is in a wheelchair. We are happy to share our special accessible home with others. Our hope is that others with disabilities can have a beach vacation and will enjoy this home as much as we do.

Theresa Stephens purchased this house in 2013

Why Theresa Stephens chose Waldport

Bayshore Beach House is a little off the beaten path but worth the drive. We just love the miles of nearly uninhabited beaches right out our door. And Newport is just 16 miles away if you need to go out, get your shopping fix or find some touristy things to do.

What makes this house unique

If you are looking for a house that has everything, you have come to the right place. Whether it is enjoying a cup of coffee on the morning deck overlooking Alsea Bay or toasting a special occasion in the hot tub while listening to the ocean surf, you will enjoy everything this home has to offer.

We have added many interesting features and items to our home and are adding more all the time. You won't be disappointed with the quality and care we have put into making your stay memorable. If you love beach fires and walking on the beach, this is one of the best beaches for that. There are 7 miles of unobstructed wide sandy beaches right out the door. A nice walk we enjoy is south of the house on the beach to the Alsea River Bay. The seals will pop their heads up and watch you as you walk. To the north of the house, Seal Rock can be seen in the distance. We have heard you can walk there but we have never made it past Drift Creek (4 miles away). There are many great hikes nearby and we have a 'house manual' with ideas for things to do, places to go, good restaurants and of course, how to operate the many features of the home.

Well appointed beach home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family -- grandparents, parents and kiddos, ages 16,12 and 10 plus one 4 3/4 year old goldendoodle had a fabulous time. We walked the beach, flew kites (provided at the home), took a short drive to the light house and tide pools, enjoyed the home's hot tub and sauna and then cheered on the Zags.

Added bonus -- it was a short walk to the hotel my parents had stayed in 47 years ago on their honeymoon. It was the Pat Boone Inn in 1970. We walked the pebble beach. Super cool!

Thanks for sharing your home with us. Best regards!

Not one complaint! AMAZING!

  • 5 of 5

This house is truly amazing. I am so glad I found it! We have already booked it for next years retreat! I have no clue how they thought of every little single detail , but you won't be in need of anything while you stay at this house. It's spotless also. The hot tub and sauna were a hit... the sound system with the laptop all ready for pandora was awesome! The cubby under the stairs has a cot that was perfect for the teenage boy we brought. The kitchen has absolutely every utensil and pan and appliances you would ever want! We used the crab cooker outside on the patio and it worked great. The vacuum system in the house was so handy. The telescope was used non stop! The toilet in the master with the walk in shower is heated! The washer and dryer was like new! The dishwasher was silent ! The elevator came in handy loading and unloading. The puzzles there were a hit! The huge table seats 10 with room for more ! Exactly the size of our group. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff... but as you can see. Once you rent this house , you will be in love! Thank you Theresa for making this beautiful house available so that so many people can enjoy it also. You really did an amazing job and for this reason our trip was the best one ever and we truly thank you! Counting down the days till our next booking!

This home truly is perfect. The owners have thought of everything. We came with our extended family, and all ages 8-75 enjoyed it immensely. We have already looked to book our next trip, and there is no question where we want to go - it's here :-)

Beautiful beach home

  • 5 of 5

The Tree House is a beautiful home. It is great for a large group and perfect for all ages. We spent 4 nights at Christmas with our family, including Great Grandma who is 83. Her accessibility needs were all met with the huge walk in shower (with seating), an elevator and the dune wheel chair (Grandma's carriage). She was always able to be with the rest of the family.

The owners have thought of every need and have added many conveniences to this home. The kitchen is huge and easily accommodates lots of cooks at one time, as well as seating for those who are just hanging out. The home is extremely clean and the many beds are comfortable and fully stocked with plenty of bedding. Our young granddaughters also loved the hot tub and the many rooms to play in.

We were blessed with great weather, beautiful sunsets and even an amazing storm.

Theresa, the owner, was great to work with and very quick to answer questions. I'd highly recommend this home and hope to return again!

Awesome beach home for our disabled son!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this awesome beach home in July 2016 for 6 nights. It was a beautiful home right on the beach and was wheelchair accessible for our disabled son. It was so nice to have the elevator to use to get him up and down in, as well as all of our luggage. We also utilized the beach wheelchair to get him out and onto the beach in. It was so convenient to have everything we needed so that he could do all the things we did and not try to figure out how to bring it all with us. He had a wonderful time and told me it was the best vacation ever! There is even a roll in shower so that we could get him cleaned up easily. I would highly recommend this home to anyone but it is especially nice for those who are disabled. The kitchen was so well laid out and was huge and we enjoyed cooking our meals there and eating with extended family around the large table. The views were awesome from the deck and we enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the sound of the ocean. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. Theresa was great to work with and answered all of our questions quickly. This was one of the best family vacations we've had in a long time. Thank you!!

Amazing home for the mobility impaired!

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing stay at this home. There were ten of us in total and we had plenty of room to spare. As one of us uses a power wheelchair the elevator made all parts of the home accessible. There was even a bath chair available (thanks Theresa!) for the roll in shower. I recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay on the beachfront on the coast, especially anyone want mobility difficulty! Theresa was a dream to work with answering any questions we had very promptly. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Our home is located in Bayshore Beach Estates. It is a development of several hundred homes, many of them, like ours, right on the Oregon Coast. The town of Waldport is right across the bridge but we find ourselves mainly going to Newport for dinners and shopping along the Bayfront. There are many art galleries in Newport and it also offers an old town area with interesting shops and restaurants. A popular place with us for lunch is the South Beach Market right on Hwy 101 as you are leaving Newport. Great place for crab, fish and of course, their famous halibut fish and chips. The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a must stop if you have kids.
