About Theresa Stephens

We built this home in late 2013 as a vacation home for our large family and to accommodate our son who is in a wheelchair. We are happy to share our special accessible home with others. Our hope is that others with disabilities can have a beach vacation and will enjoy this home as much as we do.

Theresa Stephens purchased this house in 2013

Why Theresa Stephens chose Bayshore

Bayshore Beach House is a little off the beaten path but worth the drive. We just love the miles of nearly uninhabited beaches right out our door. And Newport is just 16 miles away if you need to go out, get your shopping fix or find some touristy things to do.

What makes this house unique

If you are looking for a house that has everything, you have come to the right place. Whether it is enjoying a cup of coffee on the morning deck overlooking Alsea Bay or toasting a special occasion in the hot tub while listening to the ocean surf, you will enjoy everything this home has to offer.

We have added many interesting features and items to our home and are adding more all the time. You won't be disappointed with the quality and care we have put into making your stay memorable. If you love beach fires and walking on the beach, this is one of the best beaches for that. There are 7 miles of unobstructed wide sandy beaches right out the door. A nice walk we enjoy is south of the house on the beach to the Alsea River Bay. The seals will pop their heads up and watch you as you walk. To the north of the house, Seal Rock can be seen in the distance. We have heard you can walk there but we have never made it past Drift Creek (4 miles away). There are many great hikes nearby and we have a 'house manual' with ideas for things to do, places to go, good restaurants and of course, how to operate the many features of the home.

Perfect for a family celebration

  • 5 of 5

This home is perfect for multiple families - lots of beds and the living areas on multi-levels make it easy to spread out if needed. I appreciate all of the amenities in this home and the quality of cookware and tools available in the kitchen. It is an easy walk over the dune to the beach and the view is beautiful from the house for those days that the weather might be a bit uncooperative. Theresa is easy to communicate with and responds quickly to inquiries and questions.

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

Our large group had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home over a long weekend. We enjoyed every moment of our stay there and felt so thankful for the opportunity to experience the coast with this wonderful home as home base. Theresa has paid every attention to detail, making this home really feel like a home away from home.

The rooms are lovely, with cozy beds, and plenty of natural light. The bathrooms are fantastic, with great lighting, plenty of towels, and perfect water pressure in the showers. There are kleenex boxes throughout the house (which I personally appreciate!) and the kitchen is fully out-fitted to accommodate any kind of meal-prep and gathering.

Our group spent hours out on the beach. The kids couldn't have been more completely in beach heaven. And there is so much to do close-by. Seal beach is just a few minutes drive away, as well as Cape Perpetua for tide pools and lots of hiking. The whole experience was just all very lovely!

Lovely place

  • 5 of 5

This was the most lovely place I've ever stayed. There were so many added touches to make us feel at home, from great shampoo & conditioner to beach towels and beach chairs. The kitchen is a dream. The living areas were enjoyable and the beds and pillows were so comfortable. Theresa is very helpful and wonderful to work with even when we forgot an ipad, she sent it to us. The ONLY problem we had was with the neighbors to the South. They did not try to disguise their disdain for our family. Even going so far to yell out the window at my elderly Father and one of the kids. They had some work being done and the workers had loud music blaring for the better part of 2 days. Even that though, did not subtract from the most perfect vacation we ever had.

Owner's Response: Julie, I am happy you guys had a great time at the house - but super disappointed in my new neighbors to the south. They just recently started staying there as the house has been in remodel-mode for some time. I plan to speak to them about this. I am so sorry. I appreciate the good words. We do work hard to make everybody's vacation at the beach one they won't forget!! We hope to have you back someday. Theresa

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. The accommodations for a person in a wheel chair were excellent, the kitchen was large and well equipped; the beds were comfortable. We love the house and will definitely stay again.

Car: recommended

Our home is located in Bayshore Beach Estates. It is a development of several hundred homes, many of them, like ours, right on the Oregon Coast. The town of Waldport is right across the bridge but we find ourselves mainly going to Newport for dinners and shopping along the Bayfront. There are many art galleries in Newport and it also offers an old town area with interesting shops and restaurants. A popular place with us for lunch is the South Beach Market right on Hwy 101 as you are leaving Newport. Great place for crab, fish and of course, their famous halibut fish and chips. The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a must stop if you have kids.
