Every season is the perfect season to enjoy the lovely, world famous Sanibel Island beaches and Nature Preserves:

FALL – migrating birds are arriving daily and island life is at a delightfully slow pace. It is the perfect time for families with preschoolers as well as avid birders, photographers and shellers to enjoy a getaway here on the beach that boasts more varieties of shells than any other beach in Florida. The annual Ding Darling Days, celebrating National Wildlife Refuge week, is held each year near the end of October.

WINTER – Snowbird season is in full swing, as are the cultural offerings of the theater, Big Arts, and the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, both offering full calendars of cultural events, activities and workshops. And, of course, the weather, as always, is wonderful.

The spacious living and dining areas have the feel of being outdoors, with the wrap-around floor to ceiling windows and double sliding glass doors leading to the large screened lanai. The living areas are furnished in island tropical décor with seating for six around the dining table and a sofa, which converts to a queen-size bed. The screened lanai is the perfect place to start your day, enjoying breakfast as you watch the sunrise over the gulf or curling up on the lounge chair with a book in the afternoon. Paddle ceiling fans in each room and on the lanai add to your comfort. WiFi, flat screen HDTV’s in the living room and master bedroom, a Bose system to hook up to your iPod and a DVD player are all provided to keep you as connected as you choose to be.

In addition to its prime beachfront location, the Island Beach Club features a large, immaculately maintained, heated pool surrounded by tropical gardens, a new outdoor cooking area with built in propane cooking grills, shuffleboard and outdoor showers. 220B is accessible by both stairs and elevator.

About Bob and Kerry Freeman, Owners and Managers

Bob and Kerry Freeman live in lovely Stratham, NH most of the year, but enjoy frequent escapes to their other favorite place: Sanibel Island! Bob is a professor at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California, who teaches Leadership courses for Fuller’s on-line degree programs. Kerry, who is a former elementary school teacher, just retired from writing grants for Neighborhood Homework House, a nonprofit organization that provides tutoring and mentoring to at-risk youth, which she co-founded when they lived in Southern California. Kerry immensely enjoys photography and is continually inspired by the stunning variety and beauty of the birds and other wildlife found in the many nature preserves on the island.

We chose Sanibel because of Sanibel’s impressive success in preserving the native wildlife areas with over 60 percent of the island protected as refuge areas, its fabulous network of bike paths that make getting around the island fun and easy, and for their lovely, shell-laden beaches.

The Island Beach Club was an easy choice for us for several reasons. First, Island Beach Club’s prime location attracted us – it doesn’t get better than right on the white sandy beach, yet located centrally on the island with easy bike rides to Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge in one direction and great restaurants and shopping in the other.

In addition, the spacious layout of the condo with large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the gulf and lush tropical vegetation had great appeal to us. The complex itself is well maintained and quiet, with the majority of the condos occupied by their owners who have enjoyed the Island Beach Club life for years.

What makes this condo unique

One of the unique features about this condo, that we love, is how the bright, airy interior, with its wrap-around floor-to-ceiling windows and the sliding glass wall which incorporates the screened lanai with the living area, gives you the wonderful feeling of living outdoors, yet with all the comfort and convenience of a well equipped home.

The condo is beautiful right on the beach. Owners are awesome, caring and compassionate.

My family had such a great time renting this condo last year. We came back again this year and stayed longer!!! The condo is beautifully decorated, and makes you feel at home. Since my daughter is in a wheelchair the condo is extremely spacious, as well. The condo and complex is completely well maintained and right on the beach. The owners Bob and Kerry are awesome! We rented the weekend before Hurricane Irma and unfortunately had to leave early due to Irma. Bob and Kerry are kind and compassionate. Bob and Kerry reached out to us during the week just to check in and make sure we were find. My husband had a heart attack the week before we were scheduled to go on vacation. I asked Kerry if she could assist me, and coordinate an easier way for me to handle all the heavy lifting and luggage. When we arrived Kerry made sure it was easy for me, so I did not have to worry. You don’t find people like Kerry and Bob. They truly care about you and your family when you are at the condo. Last year Kerry gave us suggestions and great advise concerning Sanibel Island, where to go what to do. My family had a very special, relaxing vacation at Sanibel Island.

Condo is very nicely decorated and well equipped. It had everything we needed for our one week vacation on Sanibel. Only a few steps to the beach and a nice pool area. Would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Our family loved having easy access to the beach and ability to hop on our bike and reach all the great shops and restaurants on Periwinkle. The condo was nicely decorated and offered all the amenities of home.

The Island Beach Club is ideally centrally located right on the beach on West Gulf Drive, with the Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, excellent restaurants, grocery stores, shopping and other attractions within easy biking distance. The Sanibel bike paths are paved, wide, flat and a great way to get around the island. Bicycles are easily rented locally at Finnimore's Cycle Shop and Billy's and their multiple-day rental packages are quite reasonable.

Sanibel Island has 14 miles of white sand beaches and World Class Shelling, second only to the Seychelles Islands off the coast of Africa.
