About the property

Located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in San Francisco. This large studio has every feature both SF natives and visitors yearn for. The views, accessibility to public transportation, historical sites, and adventure make this rental one of a kind. The unit is a 3rd floor walk-up or stair-lift (view photos), outfitted with a 55” TV, DVD, BOSE speakers, queen size bed, a double sofa bed, and walk-in closet. The large eat-in kitchen has plenty of room to whip up a meal using fresh, local ingredients from the local farmer’s market or grocer.

Located across from Moscone Park and just a few steps from the bus stops. It is a 6-unit Marina-style building. Quiet neighbors and equipped with a surveillance camera for added protection.

Both kitchen and bedroom windows have large bay windows overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and Moscone Park. Take this in with coffee from an adorable kitchen table or from the roof deck, easily accessible from the unit. You will enjoy a 360 degree view of the best of San Francisco – the spectacular Golden Gate Bridge, the magnificent Palace of Fine Arts dome, and Moscone Park.

Across the street from the studio you will have access to public sports facilities: baseball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball courts, 2 children’s playgrounds, and a golf driving range. It is also a few blocks away from the beach, running trails, and picnic spots.

Guests often enjoy biking across the Golden Gate bridge, having lunch in Sausalito (a picturesque town on the other side of the bridge), and taking the bike-friendly ferry from Fisherman’s wharf or the Ferry Building. This bike ride is fun, safe, and unforgettable.

Within the neighborhood, you will find a variety of restaurants and shops on Chestnut Street and Union Street. You'll be amidst boutiques, bars, cafes, and a movie theater. A wonderful feature of the marina district is that foodies and families will have no trouble finding a quick bite, a leisurely brunch, fun and inventive dinners, or a nightcap.

Just steps away from Bus line 30 and 28 takes you to many SF hot spots, including, North Beach, Chinatown, Little Italy, Union Square, Golden Gate Bridge & Golden Gate Park. Walking distance from this rental, is Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, and Pier 39, and less than a mile away is the Palace of Fine Arts, Crissy Fields and the Presidio, home to Lucas Films, the new Disney Museum, and Off The Grid picnics.

If you have an early arrival or late departure, there is a storage closet for your luggage.

Equipped with universal electric plugs and USB outlets. Convenient for international guests.

About Brenda Herrera

This property is owned by a SF bay area family. The primary manager is Brenda who has worked in real estate for over 30 years. She is originally from the Philippines and fell in love with San Francisco after she moved to California in the 70's. She has managed many properties but this SF home is her pride and joy. She has kept this unit for only friends and family to enjoy until 2014.

Brenda Herrera purchased this studio in 2001

Why Brenda Herrera chose San Francisco

My family and friends love to visit and relax here whenever we can. When we're not there, we like to share it with visitors to the SF Bay Area. We keep the place clean and well-equipped. My family loves to travel and we strive to incorporate all the things we enjoy in the vacation rentals we visit around the world. SF is famous for it's misty fog and mild weather. Our home is in an area that usually gets sunshine and a gentle ocean breeze.

What makes this studio unique

Besides the beautiful view, rooftop deck, parking space, and awesome location - We like that it faces a safe, family friendly park. Not having buildings across the street makes the studio feel bigger and the city more inviting. On the third floor, you enjoy privacy but you never feel alone because there's always people walking or playing in the park.

Great Girls Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Location within walking distance of Pier 39 was very convenient. The owner, Brenda, was quick to respond to emails and provided excellent information on how to access everything we needed. My only caution would be the loud street noise and traffic with windows open. No AC so closing the windows at night makes it a bit stuffy in the apartment. Safeway just a few blocks away and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for preparing your own meals.

Owner's Response: All of the homes I've been in SF don't have an AC because the weather is always cool in the evenings even during the summer months. In my welcome email sent to guests before arrival, I specify the need to keep the windows closed and leave the wood kitchen door open but lock the metal door in the kitchen for fresh air to come in. I have posted that also inside the unit and left another reminder in the binder that is kept there. I also have a portable fan with a remote control if you forget to keep the wood kitchen door open. However, some guests just stay the way they live at their homes and ignore my advice. When I stay there, I leave the metal kitchen door locked and open the wood door without opening the windows. When I come home after a day of outing, I come to a nice, cool home. It is so cold in the evenings that I close the kitchen door before I sleep.

Fantastic Property!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights, and the apartment was everything we could have hoped for. The kitchen was spacious, up to date, and had all of the appliances we needed. The bathroom was clean and had enough space as well. The view from the top balcony was great as well, and the apartment was within walking distance of all the Marina District restaurants/bars, the Bay waterfront, and the Wharf/Ghirardelli Square. Would definitely look to stay here the next time in San Francisco!

Fabulous apartment in SF

  • 5 of 5

We came in for the San Francisco race weekend. This apartment is a little over half a mile from the expo. It was so convenient for us. The apartment was so nice and clean. We loved having a super well equipped kitchen with brand new appliances. Brenda even has a salad spinner which I love to use. We were able to cook most of our meals. She has very nice and thick bath towels and soap and shampoo. The roof deck was so nice to see the beautiful views, read and relax. Brenda is a wonderful hostess. She is very responsive and wonderful to work with. She even sent our deposit the same day we left.

nice accomodations, great location

  • 4 of 5

the unit is nice, it's small but efficient, overlooking the park. location is great, within walking distance of the Marina's restaurants and shops, also a (healthy) walk to Fisherman's Wharf. road work was going on while we were there which made for noisy mornings, but it was scheduled to be done by month's end.

Location Location Location

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is ideally located for seeing everything in San Francisco. Bus lines directly outside the door, access to a garage which was a huge bonus, especially in San Francisco, parking downtown can be as much as $50 per day. Walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and the Piers via a scenic waterfront path system located close to the unit, we went down this way to watch the 4th Fireworks. Grocery store within walking distance for all you need to take advantage of the GREAT KITCHEN, equipped with everything you need to make advanced meals. The roof top deck is great for relaxing and taking in the fantastic scenery. Brenda is easily available to explain any questions and there are very handy and meticulous notes posted through out the unit, very helpful. I love that SF recycles /composts like Canadians :). San Francisco is an outstanding city and this is the perfect location to call home base during your adventures

The Marina District is a young, upscale neighborhood packed with stores, restaurants, and outdoor attractions.

Of course, this neighborhood, bearing the name Marina District, is most known for its beautiful waterfront. It boasts views of the Golden Gate, large grassy fields, boat docks, and a breezy pedestrian/bike route which is one of the prime jogging paths of the entire Bay Area. This area is often featured in films and reality TV shows. Tourists flock here to cross the Golden Gate or go to the small beach area (most people find it too cold to actually sunbathe, but it is great for flying kites).

The neighborhood is most famous for the Palace of Fine Arts. The Palace is the only building left standing in its original location within the 1915 Exposition fairgrounds. The grounds around the Palace are a popular year-round attraction for tourists and locals, and are a favorite location for weddings and wedding party photographs for couples.

The singles scene is hopping on Friday and Saturday nights. Union St. is arguably the best street in the city to window-shop the hours away on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and, Chestnut St. has an incredible variety of high-quality restaurants catering to every palate including: Atelier Crenn, Roam Artisan Burgers, Isa, Zushi Puzzle, Bistro Aix, and A16.
