Charming Lake Front Cottage . Family Friendly

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,136 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms 1+ Baths With A Sundrench South Easterly View Of The Lake.

The feature we all look for foremost is proximity to the water and accessibility. This home has it all. It faces south-east and is drenched in sunlight from the moment the sunrises to mid/late afternoon. There are beautiful, unobstructed views of the lake, nearly level lot- no steep steps or high embankments. There is a gradual grade to your own private sandy beach. Enjoy the 56ft dock where you will find a small aluminum row boat , great for fishing or just checking the lake out. You will also find kayaks, an Old Town canoe and a stand up paddle board to cruise around and enjoy the sun and water. I do supply life vests for children and adults. They are required in the state of Maine. When you are done playing in the water, have lunch or refreshing beverage at the outdoor bar on the patio. Or just take a snooze in the hammock. We have outdoor games such as Bocce, bean toss or maybe a game of horseshoes . We abut a seasonal camp ground. The same people are there all season long. This is not an isolated location as there are neighbors in fairly close proximity as with many waterfront communities, but is an excellent waterfront location. There are safe dirt roads for the kids to ride bikes and several hundred feet away is the Hemlock camp general store. Convenient if you forgot an item or two or just go down to get an ice cream or snack. We cater to the family vacation and not large groups.

When you step inside this cottage everywhere you look will remind you that you are in Maine. From lighthouses to Loons, bears and moose there is no doubt where you are. Fishing décor is present throughout the house as it is a very popular past time on Tripp Pond all year round. For those interested in fishing the lake is very shallow and is a warm water lake. It is phenomenal for Bass fishing. The kitchen is a large open concept area with plenty of storage and work area. The kitchen is very well appointed with utensils, dishware, pots and pans, and newer small appliances. The oven is gas and there is a full size refrigerator which is 1 of 2. (the other is in the utility building just outside the house). A water dispenser is also supplied for your cooking and drinking needs. The house water is drawn from the lake and is not meant for consumption. The Kitchen extends to the dining area near the large windows overlooking the lake. The dining table is custom made pine post furniture that is present throughout the cottage. The living area is cozy, has a tongue and groove pine ceiling and a sliding glass door to the patio area. Large windows also overlook the lake. The bathroom is on the first floor (shower/ no tub). There is also a second half bath in the outdoor utility building, great for your needs when on the beach or for emergencies. There is a bedroom on the first floor. It has bunk beds with a twin upper and a full size lower bunk. There is also a roll-away bed in this room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a beautiful rustic pine post Queen size canopy bed. Large windows afford you a great view of the lake and the sunrises. The second bedroom has a rustic pine post Full size four post bed. It offers the same great views of the first bedroom.

If the weather is less than ideal we have several board and card games. You will also find a DVD player and a VCR. We do have a small library of DVD and VHS movies, but feel free to bring your own.

About Susan Wons

I recently purchased this property and am very excited about it. I live in Massachusetts but have been a property owner in Maine for a very long time. My family owned a camp in North Windham which eventually became mine. I spent all of my summers there as a child. About a dozen years ago I sold it. Something has been missing from my life since. So back to Maine I have come. I have always dreamed of owning a waterfront home here. I am recently retired and am looking forward to spending time in my vacation home. I hope you will enjoy it too.

Susan Wons purchased this cottage in 2013

Perfect location, perfect vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had such an amazing time and can't wait to be back. Everything we could think of was provided for us. Paddle boat, paddle board, kayaks, row boat, floats, lawn many extras! All of us (pets included) had such a fun and relaxing time and we can't thank you enough for allowing us into your cottage to enjoy our first family vacation. So many wonderful memories made!! Every morning was picture perfect to wake up to. My 19 month old's first request each morning was to look out of the window to see the lake. :)

We were so excited to catch a glimpse of a magnificent bald eagle one evening too.

I would highly recommend this rental! Susan is amazing and has thought of everything to make your vacation truly wonderful. Thank you, Susan! We look forward to coming back!

Outstanding comfortable and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

This is our third stay here and we are already looking forward to next years visit! Everything you need is provided just bring your groceries and if you want you never have to leave until it's time to go home.

The owner Sue has everything you need, floats, canoes, paddle board and a paddle boat.

Games for the water and games in the house.

Picnic tables a firepit and comfortable chairs at the end of the dock to enjoy the view. If you are lucky you can see a bald eagle, enjoy the family of herons and loons.

I could go on for hours about this but I'll leave it up to you to experience it yourself. Lastly should you decide to leave and explore all the area has to offer there is plenty to do and see.

Comfortable and Serene Tripp Pond Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is comfortable and well-supplied, on a shallow cove that is a fishing go to spot, and the owner is engaged with guests' needs.

Owner's Response: I am glad you all were comfortable after your long journey. There is a little something for everyone. The fishing right along the cove is some of the best on the lake and happy your daughter got her 1st catch. Lots of memories to be made here.

Loving life in Maine

  • 5 of 5

Susan, I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had at Tripp Lake. You supplied us with so many things. The outdoors was supplied with a grill, rafts, kayaks, a small boat, to a paddle board and plenty of sitting. The house was very comfortable. The views from the house were something made for a picture. I miss waking up in the morning turning over, and the first things I saw was the beautiful lake. Thank you for the blueberry coffee cake and the beautiful welcome letter that made us feel like we were home at least for the week. It was our first adventure in Maine, and I don't think it will be our last.

Thank you so much.

GREAT cottage with many amenities and excellent waterfront!

  • 5 of 5

Loved all the extras....2 wonderful kayaks, 1 stand up paddleboard, canoe, rowboat, many floats!! It was a fantastic beach and waterfront for our grandchildren. And about 15 feet from the house! There was even a toilet in the shed so they didnt have to go into the house each time while playing outside. Susan even had sand toys and yard games there. The beds were comfortable and there was a spring water cooler available in the house for our drinking water. Firewood and tinder was supplied for the great fire pit outdoors where we roasted marshmallows .

Plenty of chairs and seating outside.

She was a wonderful hostess and very receptive to our questions and to suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone who loves to visit a camp in Maine!!

There is so much to explore in this area of Maine if you should choose to get out of the hammock or put down the fishing rod. There are 2 golf courses right in Poland, the Poland Springs Resort and the Summit Golf course. The Maine Wildlife Park in Gray could also be a good take as is the Shaker Village in Poland. For family fun try the Oxford Plains Raceway on Rt.26. They have everything from auto racing to monster truck competitions to demolition derbies. For grownup fun try the Oxford Casino also on Rt.26. Go for a seaplane ride in Naples. Bridgeton has a very unique movie theater and bar. Windham and Oxford also have movie theaters. Sea coast Fun park on Rt.302 in Windham will give you a thrill. If you love to shop then Freeport (45mins.) home of LL Bean is a must. Also horseback riding at the Carousel horse farm in Casco There are plenty of Antique and thrift stores to keep you busy. As you can see there is something for everyone, all you have to do is look.
