With its vast network of hiking trails, cycle paths and canoeing opportunities, there is plenty to experience in both summer and winter. In winter, Narvik offers one of Norway's most spectacular ski areas, from the top of Narvikfjellet overlooking the fjord all the way down to the city. No matter what time of year you are here, you can take the cable car up the mountain and then explore the surrounding area. Would you like to try salmon fishing? Elvegårdselva flows into the fjord at Bjerkvik and climbs up to the house. If you prefer to fish in Hartvikvatnet, the owner of the house has a boat. Contact him to make an arrangement to use the boat. If you are here in winter, the lake is ideal for ice fishing.
