About the host
Hosted by Joseph lundgren
Hi, I'm Joe — your host. I'm a McKinney local with a soft spot for old houses, vintage objects, and the particular kind of comfort that comes from a place that's been thoughtfully lived in. When I'm not hosting, I run Vintage McKinney, an antique shop in town that supplies many of the curated details you'll find at the property.
My goal is to give guests a calm, characterful base — whether you're here for work, an extended stay, or a long weekend exploring downtown McKinney's restaurants and antique stores. I keep communication friendly and brief: you'll have everything you need before you arrive, and I'm a quick message away if anything comes up during your stay.
If you spot something at the house you love, there's a good chance you can pick up something similar at the shop on the historic square.
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is the sweet spot between quiet and convenient. Tree-lined streets, mature landscaping, and neighbors who wave when you pull in — but you're a 3-minute drive to Highway 380 and 8 minutes to Historic Downtown McKinney's town square. That square is a treasure: brick streets, restaurants, antique shops, a performing arts center, and the kind of weekend pace that feels like a different decade.
For travel pros and remote workers, the location puts you minutes from the McKinney medical corridor, US-75, and a quick straight shot down to Allen, Plano, and the DFW airports. It's a low-stress base for working in the area without sacrificing a peaceful place to come home to.
What makes this property unique
Two things set this house apart.
First, the vintage character — every room has been thoughtfully curated with restored antiques, period light fixtures, and small details that make the home feel collected rather than decorated. It's the kind of place you notice something new every day of your stay.
Second, and the reason a lot of guests book: a 40-plus-foot concrete pad runs the length of the fenced backyard, accessible through a double gate off the driveway. You can pull a truck, trailer, RV, or work equipment straight in and lock it up overnight. Contractors and traveling professionals consistently tell us it's the deciding factor — secure parking is rare in this kind of residential setting.
Add 2-gig fiber WiFi with battery backup, a sunroom-converted fourth bedroom with its own back-door entrance, and three TVs with streaming, and the house works equally well for solo workers, multi-room families, and traveling teams.
