Villa in the sun
The villa was brilliant. Beautiful and clean, we were very comfortable it felt like home from home.
The view was also perfect overlooking the village and the sea.
We had a lovely holiday there.
A Short Review of Villa Miranda
Quite simply, done exactly as described on website. Very well appointed and spacious for a 2 bedroom villa. No problems throughout stay and easy to recommend.
Great villa in a wonderful location
We had a great stay in this villa, clean, tidy and well equipped. It is in good proximity to local restaurants and walking distance to the beach, shops, bars etc as well. The view from the balcony is stunning and the pool is perfect for a cool down and for the kids to play in. For the money, this villa is exactly as described and offers a very good location and base for any couples or family holidays!
Very Lovely Property
A travel friend and myself stayed at this two bedroom villa for 12 days and enjoyed its surroundings and amenities immensely! The sea and cliffs views are without a doubt outstanding!
The villa itself was well appointed and very clean. The pool was a wonderful addition and we certainly enjoyed our use of it, despite the time of year and the cooler water temperatures.
The property manager Clara was always available and very pleasant to work with. The gardens and the pool were maintained regularly.
The only disappointment for me was that the bbq was quite small and that it wasn't a traditional Portuguese brick built bbq which is such a wonderful feature in other villas I have rented while vacationing in Portugal. It is the reason I give this property a four star rating vs a five star rating. It is a personal preference of mine and that may not be a concern for others. It is certainly not a reason for not renting this villa.
This property is ideally located; well within walking distance to restaurants, delightful pubs and cafes, food markets, pharmacy, post office etc as well as beautiful Praia da Luz beach!
Morning walks are a joy and the villagers are a pleasure to come to know!
I would highly recommend this property and commend the owners and property manager for the attention they give to it to ensure their guests have a very memorable stay!
Thank you for everything!
Delightful location, perfect property
We are a family of four including 2 teenagers and have rented through VRBO often. This property listing sounded great and it was even better when we arrived. We visited in the off-season. Approx. 30% of the town was open including English pubs, Irish pubs, Chinese and Portugese restaurants, good grocery store with metropolitan grocery store in Lagos, 15 min. away. A good clinic is available in Luz, open during regular business hours. Hospital and police are located in Lagos. The temps were in the low 60s daily, we enjoyed breakfast on the covered balcony which faces East, overlooking our private pool, lovely garden below and ocean in the distance. We were comfortable wearing t-shirts with a sweater. The walk down to the village square and beach is 5 minutes. The walk back is uphill which we did not find strenuous. Neighbors and townspeople were pleasant and welcoming. The owners or staff were available for questions. Every need is anticipated in this well-furnished villa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again and stay longer.
It is lovely to hear you enjoyed your holiday in Villa Miranda. Our decision to buy the villa was entirely influenced by that beautiful panoramic sea view from the lounge and veranda and everything else fell into place behind that: quiet neighbourhood, walk to restaurants and beach, friendly Portugeuse people, great local food and scenery. So our initial instincts proved 100% correct!
Fantastic place to stay
I have just returned from a fantastic holiday with my husband and daughters aged 19 and 15. The villa was everything we needed, it was furnished to a high standard and kept very clean during our stay as was the garden and pool. The photos of the view of the veranda does not do it justice, we could have spent the day watching the Atlantic with its fishing boats and wind surfers. The weather was very warm for the 2 week stay but there was always some shade you could relax in. The hill is steep but unless you have a disability this would not be a problem. Having Luz so easy to hand and our own pool was a luxury. A car is useful to travel to some lovely nearby beaches and 2 good water parks. I recommend the Amici restaurant and the Fort on the beach, both served very good and reasonably priced food.
Delighted that you and your family had a great time in our villa!
The fantastic sea views from the veranda was the prime reason we bought the villa. We appreciate what you say about our photos of the sea views from the veranda not doing it justice but we keep trying! I guess nothing beats seeing it in reality!
Apart from the terrific sea views the fact that the village and beach are within easy walking distance were also very important factors when we chose to buy the villa.
We try hard with the invaluable help of the villa manager to maintain the high standards and quality of our villa and many of our friends and guests fall in love with the place aswell!
Though a car is not necessary when staying here, it does give you the freedom to visit so many other fabulous beaches, villages and stunning scenery along the Western Algarve.
The Western Algarve is an area of great natural beauty with dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches and copious small, colourful fishing villages.
Drive along the coast to Cape St. Vincent and up the west coast to find miles and miles of dramatic, towering cliffs, little coves and fishing villages clinging to cliff sides. With so many beautiful beaches to choose from, you may even have one all to yourself. From the Monchique mountains inland there are views of the whole coastline from the wooded hills clothed with pines, almond and cork trees. The spa town of Monchique has small cobbled streets and alleyways and speciality foods from the area, including the signature dish of piri-piri chicken, and has many craft outlets selling local pottery, handcrafts, rugs and artwork.
The wonderful, historic regional capital, Lagos, 3 miles from Luz has an attractive paved shopping area, many restaurants, nightlife as well as a large yacht Marina.
This beautiful area has sunshine, beaches and an easy, friendly atmosphere. The profile of Luz village is low-rise, with several small supermarkets, a couple of banks, a post office and some gift shops. The overgrown village has a great many restaurants with delicious fare to suit all tastes, ranging from Portuguese to Italian and Indian. The gorgeous sandy beach in Luz has a Blue Flag for water quality and services and the delightful paved promenade to the beach from the village is lined with palm trees with occasional seats facing seaward for relaxing with a fabulous view. Various water sports are available at the beach, and there are sunbeds for hire near the beach bar.
Visitors love the wonderful scenery and climate in this area, and the genuine friendliness of the local people, the delicious food prepared from local fresh fish, meats, vegetables, fruits, and of course the excellent local wines. Small wonder that so many visitors return here year after year!
Other Activities: Cliff walks, cycling, bird watching, whale & dolphin watching and cave/grotto boat trips.
