I stayed at this bungalow for a month this year. The house is adequately furnished with sufficient kitchen utensils/dishes. Although the air conditioners in the bedrooms do not work, the fans were adequate. We had some issues with ants on the patio but with the use of ant bait, they left.
The garden is lovely and one day we even got to eat a coconut from one of the trees. The pool is refreshing and great for relaxing in. The rocky beach is great for morning and evening walks and has absolutely gorgeous sunsets.
If you are there for longer than a week, you will probably have to request to have the pool drained and re-filled. Alfredo, the gardener, was a delight and so conscientious about cleaning the pool every day.
The property does not have a means for washing clothes and so after 2 weeks we had to go to Christina, the property manager, and request that the one towel that we were given on arrival, be laundered. Our perception was that items for one week were provided (towels, linens, drinking water, toilet paper) but if you were staying longer, you were left to manage those things yourself. We felt that Christina was not at all proactive about her guests needs. The property is a fair distance from the town and there is not a bus that runs out as far as the property so a car is essential to do your shopping.
The owner was very prompt with answering emails but Christina does not email or text. She does answer the phone promptly.
That being said, if you have a car, you will be able to drive to some beautiful and fun beaches. Two of our favorites were Palenque and Los Platos. The most beautiful was Bahia de Las Aguilies. It is absolutely picture perfect.
One warning- Stay away from driving in Santo Domingo if at all possible. It will only make you crazy!
