Extremely quiet and the horses are a nice touch to the scenery. The cabin is very well supplied with everything. Beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows. Overall great stay for me and the family.
Great cabin for a mountain getaway! The hosts were welcoming and the cabin was well stocked and had everything we needed. After a long day of hiking, it was exactly was we needed to relax. Only wish we were there longer so we could enjoy everything this cabin had to offer…. Thanks for a great stay!

About the host
Hosted by Deborah Ferlicca
We have always loved destination family vacations but often lacked the time spent together laughing, playing games and just being together because there was always things to do scheduled often feeling rushed and exhausted on return. Charlies Chalet was purchased for that reason. My father was Charlie, he dedicated his life to others making sure we all had what we needed. He was a school teacher in a small town in NY for over 35 years, in the military and ran a bowling association. He was loved by everyone and especially loved by his family. Take the time while staying to slow down a bit, sit on the porch with a beverage and watch the world pass by. If traveling with friends and family enjoy a game or sitting by the fire just getting to know one another. We migrated to Key West from Livonia, NY during Covid and our 4 children's families have also been spread out between NY, Florida and TN. Our daughter Taylor and son in law Tighe will be your hosts and see to it that you have everything you may need to have a memorable stay. They own Salty Pines campground just a couple miles away. Hope you love our home as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
The location is not about the stuff it is about the beautiful location on a private drive in the middle of the Cherakee National Forest, just off the famous Rt 68. Farner (Turtle town) is centrally located on the southeast tip of Tennessee and would be an easy drive to the Knoxville, Chattanooga or Atlanta airports if needed, For the outdoor lovers you will find Olympic style white water rafting just a couple miles away on the Ocoee, as well as spectacular waterfalls and hiking trails,
What makes this property unique
Looking for a little civilization? we are just walking distance to Tammy's Ice Cream and a Gas/Convenient store or a short drive to the Thirsty Turtle for some great close by food and beverage offerings. If traveling west you will be in Chattanooga in an hour or east, we are just less than 20 min to Murphy NC. If you go south, you will find McCaysville has some wonderful restaurants or the Georgia/TN property line. There are railroads that will take you on day trips in Hiawasee or between the towns of Mc Caysville to Blueridge Georgia, Copperhill Georgia is a ten min drive to see a copper mining town or scenic drive to Helen a German town, Blueridge or Elijay Apple farm. Lots to do if you want then back home to enjoy the privacy of a cozy fire.
