Our week with family on Mt. Desert Island was magical, thanks in no small part to Anne’s beautiful, spacious and luxurious home. In a secluded but accessible spot on the quiet side of the island, we were minutes away from the Bass Harbor lighthouse, the shopping & restaurants of Southwest Harbor, and the Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails. A short drive to Echo Lake and Long Pond and many spectacular hiking trails, the quiet side is our favorite place to stay when visiting Acadia, and “Lighthouse Lodge” is our new favorite place to stay. We cooked many meals in the well stocked kitchen, spent hours on the deck fighting over who got to lounge in the Yellow Leaf hammock chairs, having family game tournaments in the game room, unwinding in the hot tub after long days of scrambling and hiking, and gazing at the Milky Way while we made s’mores around the huge fire pit with a seemingly endless supply of firewood. The house is newly renovated with top-line furnishings, and we wanted for nothing. Anne was a great communicator and super responsive. Highly recommend; can’t imagine a better spot for a large gathering of family and friends.
