Loon Lookout at Riverside Basecamp is a cozy, pet-friendly 2-bedroom, 1-bath stay in Duluth, Minnesota. This side-by-side townhome is set in a residential neighborhood, giving guests a comfortable home base with easy access to outdoor recreation, local attractions, and everything Duluth has to offer.



The home is a great fit for small families, couples, pet owners, and travelers looking for a relaxed place to stay near Spirit Mountain, the Munger Trail, biking, skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, and the St. Louis River area. While the property is not directly on the river or tucked away in the woods, it is well located for guests who want to enjoy Duluth’s outdoor activities and then come back to a warm, practical, and welcoming place to unwind.



We especially cater to guests coming to Duluth for outdoor adventure. The mudroom is set up for gear storage, with space for bikes, skis, snowboards, jackets, boots, and other outdoor equipment. Guests are welcome to bring bikes, skis, snowboards, snowmobiles, and trailers. The property has designated off-street parking for up to two vehicles parked back-to-back, and street parking may also be available nearby. Guests with trailers should plan parking carefully and must follow posted street signs and City of Duluth alternate-side parking rules. The Munger Trail is about one block away for summer and winter activities.

We’ve lived in the Riverside neighborhood of Duluth since 2014 and live right next to our vacation rentals. We love this area and enjoy sharing it with guests who are visiting Duluth for outdoor adventures, local events, family trips, and relaxing getaways. We enjoy creating warm, welcoming spaces where guests can feel comfortable, settle in, and have a great home base while exploring Duluth and the North Shore. Our 4-year-old is a big helper too and likes being part of making the spaces feel welcoming for guests. Since we live nearby, we’re close enough to help if something comes up, while still giving guests the privacy and space to enjoy their stay. — Darin & Elina

We chose this property because it is right in the Riverside neighborhood we’ve called home since 2015. We love being near Spirit Mountain, the Munger Trail, the St. Louis River area, and so many outdoor activities while still being a short drive to Canal Park, the Lakewalk, restaurants, events, and other Duluth attractions. This property felt like a great fit for the kind of stay we wanted to create: cozy, practical, pet-friendly, and welcoming. It is not a secluded cabin or a riverfront home, but it gives guests a comfortable place to settle in after a day of exploring Duluth, skiing, biking, hiking, visiting family, or enjoying the North Shore. Because we live right next to our rentals, we’re able to care for the property closely and keep improving the guest experience over time.
