Or treat yourself to a culinary experience: within walking distance, you’ll find excellent restaurants such as the “Gastmahl des Meeres” on the beach promenade, the Italian restaurant “Osteria La Torre” at the harbor, and “Die Brasserie” on the market square in Sassnitz’s Old Town (we recommend making a reservation at each).<br><br>Two separate bedrooms offer you a pleasant place to retreat. One of the rooms is furnished with a double bed (2 x 0.90 x 2 m), the other with two single beds (each 0.80 m x 2 m). There is a private parking space on the property for your car. Bicycles can be parked (to do so, go through the front door and unlock the door across from it; behind it is another door labeled “Bicycle Storage”). A washing machine and dryer (coin-operated) are located in the communal basement. Pets are not allowed; we appreciate your understanding. The maritime pilot station is located in the center of Sassnitz, directly above the harbor, in close proximity to the Old Town and the “Jasmund National Park.” <br><br>The nearest shopping area is approximately 500 m away. To sunbathe or swim in the Baltic Sea, you can reach the beautiful beach at Binz Bay by car in 10–15 minutes. Here, a child-friendly, 14-km-long sandy beach awaits you between Sassnitz/Mukran and Binz. Ample parking is available.<br><br>Hiking, boating, horseback riding, and biking are popular activities that allow you to explore the nearly untouched nature of Jasmund National Park—this picturesque vacation spot on the island of Rügen that everyone should see at least once.<br><br>The chalk cliffs on Rügen in Jasmund National Park are the island’s famous landmarks. The high-altitude hiking trail, offering unique views, is a 15-minute walk from the pilot station, as is the path below the chalk cliffs (we recommend sturdy shoes). Since 1990, this wild and fascinating Baltic Sea coast, with its white chalk cliffs (up to 161 m high) and beech forests, has been protected as Jasmund National Park. On June 25, 2011, a portion of the beech forests was designated a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.” A trip on the sightseeing steamboat to the chalk cliffs is highly recommended when the weather is good (preferably in the morning).<br><br>If the weather happens to be unfavorable, you can relax at the STEIGENBERGER resort in Neddesitz (Jasmar-Therme) or
