Dogs are warmly welcome here. The historic Villa Joksch is located in Lohme, 10 km north of Sassnitz on Rügen. From both the charming wooden balcony and all the windows of the apartment, you can gaze out over the rooftops of the former fishing village of Lohme to the endless expanse of the Baltic Sea. From the covered balcony, you can enjoy the sunset in every season.<br>Even Theodor Fontane raved about the atmosphere of the town with its unique cliffs and panoramic views.<br>On the adjacent romantic pebble beach, next to a small marina, stands Lohme’s landmark, the “Schwanenstein,” an imposing 162-metric-ton rock.<br>Lohme attracts visitors to the northeastern coast of Rügen not only with breathtaking views, peace, and relaxation—the charming Jasmund National Park, with its popular Königsstuhl, is also right on its doorstep.<br>On a hiking trail just under 4 km long, which begins right in Lohme, you’ll traverse the fairy-tale beech forests of Stubnitz, an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011, along the waves of the Baltic Sea all the way to the white chalk cliffs—the proud natural monuments and landmarks of Rügen.<br>Lohme is not only a great starting point for many hikes but, of course, also an excellent starting point for bike tours.<br>You can take interesting excursions, for example to beautiful Sassnitz, where ferries depart for Scandinavia, to the legendary Lake Hertha, to Cape Arkona—or to the gorgeous white sandy beach of the Schaabe Spit. This sandy beach is about 12 kilometers long and is just a ten-minute drive away.
