The small North Frisian town of Humptrup is only three kilometers south of the border with Denmark in the middle of the lush green marsh and not far from the North Frisian Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. The nearest larger town is the small town of Niebüll (12 kilometers), from where the ferries to the islands of Sylt, Föhr, Amrum and the Halligen start. The Niebüll weekly market takes place every Saturday and offers you a good opportunity to buy fresh fish, vegetables, meat and regional products. The historic house was once the painter's home, still has its original furnishings and now houses great exhibitions.
