About the property

Cozy 3 Bdrm House In Sugarbush Vermont

***sorry, no full-season rentals***

Our house is 5 Minutes drive to Sugarbush Ski resort, with two great mountains boasting more annual snowfall than Killington. The house is located off the Sugarbush Access Road.

My father built this amazing cabin over 50 years ago; it has a real vintage feel, so for those looking for a nice quirky cabin experience, I think you will enjoy it.

Off ski season rates are $270 per night. Winter weekend and holiday/long weekend rates are $400 per night. Multiple day mid-week winter rates are negotiable.

It sleeps 8 easily, with three bedrooms and 2 full baths (a King, Queen and Two Full beds). There's a full kitchen, washer and dryer, Large TV, A DVD library, Wireless Internet, 6-8 person dinning room table, a den and a nice wood burning fire place. There is no microwave and no cable TV.

Guaranteed the most quaint and charming vacation rental!

Happy trails!!

****Activities and Food****

- The two towns - 5 minutes from the house are Warren and Waitsefield.

- The Mehuron grocery store is a nice locally owned grocery. There is also a Shaws on the other side of the main street.

- Make sure you check out American Flatbread (pizza) - very quaint unique “earthen oven” pizza experience.

For a quick bite, the tacos at Mad taco right by Mehurons are incredible - braised and smoked tacos.

- Other restaurants I like: the Hyde Away - delicious, also has nice bar and billiards.

- The Big Picture - good bar atmosphere and a movie theatre.

- The Local Folk Smokehouse. Live bands and Tex Mex

- The Powderhound Hostel - Live Bands and Pub

- The Peasant - fine dining.

- The common man - fine dining.

- The pitcher inn in warren - fine dining.

In the Valley you’ll find Skating in Waitsfield, tobogganing – Check out Mad River Rocket Sledding trails. Snowshoeing, cross country skiing – at Ole’s or Blueberry Lake, hot chocolate and waffle bar at the base of Sugarbush mountain, kids camps and 'Adventure Zone' for kids:

And the Big Picture movie theater:

Great Ski Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is a perfect rental home for a quiet ski weekend in the Sugarbush area. The home provides 3 great bedrooms, 2 sizable bathrooms, a functional kitchen, a large living room and a nice wood fire place. The driveway and road are very accessible even when snow covered. Our group consisted of 3 couples that were housed very comfortably within the home. All of us would definitely rent this home again. Andrew was very helpful.

Great location but average experience

  • 3 of 5

We were minutes from Sugarbush and a short drive to Waitsfield. The house was roomy for the four of us. We comfortably watched movies every night on the big screen. The beds were also comfortable (I'm very sensitive to beds). The owner was quick to respond and easy to deal with. However, we were disappointed with the furnace so close to the bedrooms rumbling and spewing a smell that hit you at the entrance and that permeated your clothes. We had to wash all our clothes when we unpacked. We would not have minded "rustic" but we felt the house was not kept up and old. Even the corkscrew was old and rusty. It would have been easy and inexpensive to replace.

Owner's Response: Aline, I'm glad you had a good sleep and some nice movie watching. There are 3 corkscrews in the house. One is an Italian design my dad bought in Italy; one is brand new and the third one is the old one you're referring to. The smell you're referring to is fresh wood. Not the furnace. It is a smell that I and others tend to enjoy very much. I have NEVER heard or felt or smelt anything resembling your complaint about the furnace. Regarding the house in general: with new carpeting, new couches, new kitchen appliances, new tv, a new and well maintained furnace, i must say this is the oddest review, perhaps corresponding to other expectations all together. All the best, Andrew

Awesome Ski Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with a group of 8 for an extended weekend to go skiing at Sugarbush. The rustic cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Located 5 minutes from the mountain, the cabin consisted of an open common space with a fireplace and tv (note, house has wifi but not cable tv), where our group could comfortably hang out, eat dinner and drink beer after a hard days work on the slopes. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathroom- ample space for our needs. The house had and a mudroom which was great for storing ski equipment. Firewood was provided for our stay. The host, Andrew, was very responsive and helpful which made our weekend convenient. We had great time. I'd definitely stay again and would recommend this property.

Rustic home in convenient location

  • 2 of 5

The house is located in very convenient location near Warren and Waitsfield. Great hiking and swimming holes located within a few minutes of the house. Home appears to be best suited as a winter rental. If you are going to rent this home in the summer months, make sure to request that screens are etc windows etc. Caretaker was very helpful in taking a care of finding the screens that were in storage for us, fixing toilet in master bath etc. Appliances need some attention as refrigerator is on last legs and washing machine only had hot water. Again, probably best for a ski vacation vs summer rental.

Owner's Response: Hi Ray, The screens are in for the summer and fall season. Summer and Winter we are ready for business. There was a toilet glitch while you were there and the caretaker dealt with it immediately. Sorry for the inconvenience. The cold water switch for the washing machine is indicated clearly on the side of the machine. Just let me or the caretaker know if you have these kinds of questions. That's what we're here for. The new fridge is in, and in tip top shape. You are always welcome again any time. Andrew

Great rustic cabin right on the Sugarbush access road. Comfortably slept 8 and a dog. Andrew was easy to get in touch with and clearly expressed his expectations and answered any questions we had. I'd stay here again fo shizzle.

Super comfortable Vermont getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Andrew's home is exactly as he described - a cozy, unique cabin - great for a Vermont getaway! We stayed for a ski weekend (ultimately didn't ski because of the weather) with two couples and a dog and had an amazing time! Because we didn't end up skiing, our group actually spent a fair amount of time in the house, playing cards, cooking meals, making a fire and the highlight of our trip - sifting through Andrew's album collection and listening to excellent music on his record player. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a homey, comfortable ski vacation!
