Why Lauren Miller & Brent Twyon chose Kailua
Kailua Palms is our Kailua dream. As beach lovers and outdoor enthusiasts we love being able to walk to the beach or hop on a bike for a ride around town in the bike lane or beach path. No hotels anywhere in Kailua but an authentic Hawaiian beach community with friendly people, warm blue ocean water and gentle waves. Kailua Palms is convenient to all the amenities Kailua has to offer and tastefully decorated in Hawaiian theme. We live onsite and value our guests privacy but we love meeting travelers and are happy to point you in the right direction to help you plan your day.
What makes this Cottage unique
Stroll to uncrowded, beautiful Kailua Beach for a day of sun, sand, swimming and surf. Come home, relax, then cookout on the grill or check out the array of fantastic restaurants in Kailua Town. A Kailua vacation is as quiet or active as you want it to be. Rent bicycles, paddle boards and kayaks nearby. Bike the Kailua bike path and Lanikai Loop, kayak to the twin islands or hike up to the Lanikai Pillbox for amazing views. Then take the family to Island Snow where President Obama takes his family for shave ice.

Location really is everything!
Of course you want to be close to the top rated beaches And of course being in town is convenient for restaurants, boutiques and island people watching.
I stayed here 4 mos and the best thing, my pets were welcome. Most places, not so. Want to make friends fast...have a pet!
The hosting family is very sweet and very busy. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you very much. I bought a place and live here now. Oahu leaves a huge impression.
We're staycationing for 2 weeks here. Two adults and one dog. Had our own vehicle. All in all very cute & cozy.
Liz has been very welcoming and available but not "too available". Very pleasant lady.
The unit and yard are both bigger than they look in the pictures.
No concerns at all with the dogs here and no concerns with our dog (so far as I know).
We've been trying to keep the shower open to air but it has grown mold on the floor tiles.
It got hotter than what we're used to on the other side of the island and did have to turn the AC on a few times.
Cooking requires some creativity, only a microwave and hot plate. Not really a con, just something to prepare for.
Awesome Cottage by Beautiful Beach!
We had a great stay at the cottage. Very close to the beach and the town. The place itself felt bigger than how I see on pictures on this site, spotless clean with nice shower. They don't have a full kitchen, but having an electric hot plate? to cook food with, rice cooker, coffee maker and outside bbq grill was good enough for us to cook our meal every day for 3 days. When We had questions and emailed them, it was always very quick for them to reply which made our stay even more comfortable. There's beach toys/ body board etc for use as well. We would love to come back and stay there again very very soon :)
We loved our stay at the Coconut Grove property in Kailua. The location is absolutely perfect and near everything you want when traveling to the windward side of Oahu.
The property is clean and well stocked for your stay with beach gear, towels, chairs, etc., there was even a bag of local coffee waiting for us! The property manager is onsite, which is great in case you need anything. The only draw back for us was the light that streams in through the kitchen window all night. We asked the property manager if it could be turned off and it was for a couple of nights but was on for most of our stay. A great solution would be for the owner to put up a window covering over the kitchen window so those of us who are light sensitive can block it out.
Overall I highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to stay in Kailua or on this side of the island as it offers all you could want; location, amenities, and the price is right. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Very clean, cute cottage!
This is a perfect little place in Kailua to stay. Its much better than a hotel room and 3 blocks to a nice beach access. The bed was very comfy, and the house has everything you need for a stay. I was there for over 1 month and found it to be good for long-term stays as well! Make sure you walk into Bowles Burritos for breakfast on the weekends too!
Wonderful and Relaxing
Four family members stayed in this spacious, clean cottage and we enjoyed our stay. It was pretty quiet and peaceful too. We liked the fact that it was close to the beaches, restaurants and shopping areas. We went to all the farmers markets for fresh fruits, veggies and plate lunches. It was pretty warm in July and the A/C was too small to cool the place well during the day but a minor point. After beachtime I could check my email which was very convenient.
Kailua is nature's playground. Kayaks, stand up paddle boards, canoes, and bikes can all be rented nearby.
Bring your car or walk and bike to beach and town in designated bike lanes. Stroll through Kailua Town for restaurants and shopping at chic Hawaiian boutiques. Enjoy an amazing sunrise on your early morning beach walk, have breakfast at island favorite Cinnamon's and take a drive down the east (Windward) side of the island for a perfect day and stunning coastal views.
Take a day trip to the North Shore of Oahu and check out the giant waves, Food Network famous shrimp trucks, Dole Plantation and surfer lifestyle, just a 45 minute drive from Kailua.
Buzz's Steakhouse is nearby with the best calamari around and mai tais that will knock your socks off in an open air setting across from Kailua beach.
Pinky's Pupu Bar and Grill is a short drive or bike ride away. Happy hour $4 drinks and pupus and a large bar area with tv's tuned to any sport and team you are interested in watching. Local food and canal views for dinner.
Bike or drive to Lanikai Beach and snorkel in the warm, calm water. You might even swim with a honu (turtle) if you're lucky.
