Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps Up To 8 People Total

Pelican Landing is a beautifully furnished townhouse with single garage near the Peninsula Golf Course -- an easy walk to the beach or a short drive to downtown. The atmosphere of this home is relaxed, with a touch of elegance, set amid the dunes and the beach pines, within walking distance to the beach or the Peninsula Golf Course.

Pelican Landing features a ground floor master suite with an elegant four-poster queen bed, gas fireplace, TV and its own private deck. The ensuite bath is large and has a jetted tub/shower. The main level also has the kitchen and living room, powder room, laundry and garage. For evenings or rainy days there’s cable TV with VCR/DVD and stereo in the living room, as well as a gas fireplace. There’s a hide-a-bed in the living room too. The kitchen is bright and well-equipped with pots, pans, dishes, glasses and silverware. There’s a full-size range and fridge and a dishwasher. Upstairs there’s a second full bath and two more bedrooms – one with a queen bed and one with twin trundle beds. For your comfort, Pelican Landing is no smoking and no pets please.

Besides 2 golf courses, there’s great shopping and a variety of restaurants close by in the downtown core, plus lots of things for the kids to do – arcades, carnival rides, miniature golf and more. The Bolstad beach approach is a hub of activity year-round, but especially during the summer months, with the International Kite Festival in August and fireworks on Independence Day and New Year’s Eve. Long Beach and Seaview feature a variety of eateries from casual family restaurants to upscale restaurants and cafes. After dinner you can walk the boardwalk to enjoy one of our colorful sunsets too.

There’s even more to explore on the Long Beach Peninsula – all 26 plus miles of it. The Port of Ilwaco and Cape Disappointment are only a short drive away, as well as Waikiki Beach and the North Head lighthouse. There are some great art galleries at the Port of Ilwaco, and during the summer months there’s Saturday Market too, with a variety of local arts and crafts, foods, flowers and plants for sale. Ilwaco also has its own fireworks in July and the Blues and Seafood Festival in August. The Port also features some fine restaurants with local seafood offerings created by our great chefs. Or take a charter trip for salmon, halibut, tuna or sturgeon.

On the north end of the Peninsula is Ocean Park, with bookstores, restaurants and gift stores. Visit Jack’s Country Store to see this historic yet current meeting place. In Nahcotta you can buy fresh oysters or pastries and enjoy the wonderful views of Willapa Bay. Or try the course at the Surfside Golf Course north of Ocean Park. On the extreme north end of the Peninsula, the place to see is Ledbetter Point State Park -- it’s a wonderful place for hiking to the beach or to the bay. Make sure you stop in historic Oysterville to see the wonderful old church there too.

Pelican Landing is a beautiful home to visit while you relax, spend time with friends and family, explore our beaches and all that the Long Beach Peninsula has to offer!

Beautiful house, comfortable stay

  • 5 of 5

The house is clean, nicely furnished and decorated. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and cookware if you want to cook. There is a small deck off of the back of the house (through the master bedroom). It is only a short drive north of downtown Long Beach, and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. It is managed by a property management company, and is very well maintained.

Great weekend at the beach

  • 4 of 5

Took the cruiser bikes on the costal trail. Grabbed take out from the Malai Thai (pad see ew, was great) and the local Chinese restaurant. Caught the sunrise from the costal trail both days. Go carting with the kids was a highlight and the summer activities in town leave lots to do on the next trip.

Nice quiet spot near the beach ...

  • 4 of 5

We mostly enjoyed our stay here. Nicely decorated and pretty spacious. It's a quiet spot where you can open the windows at night and let in the cool fresh air that makes for a restful sleep. You can't see the beach, but it's a nice walk there. As you leave the condo development, right across the street is a golf course that has a great little restaurant. The only cons ... no hair dryer, shampoo or conditioner) and an issue with some spiders (but I'm extra sensitive about those critters!) The carpet needs to be cleaned as there were several spills that were unappealing. The upstairs loft twin fold out cannot be slept on until there is a proper mattress installed. It looks and feels like an old box spring. I would suggest a good foam mattress!

Other beds were satisfactory for everyone. Bikes are available. Washer and dryer too.

Master on lower level with bath and patio. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a bath (plus the possibility of another single in the loft if the fold out would get a new mattress. Kitchen has good supply of dishes, silverware, kettles , coffee pot and toaster, but no other small appliances like a slow cooker, etc. Overall, I would recommend this spot and be happy to return.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments. We are heading out for a few days next week and will check on the trundle bed mattress. It isn't often used, and we hadn't heard from anyone about a problem, so we'll definitely look into it. The carpet was cleaned about a month ago, and the cleaners said there were some spots they couldn't get out. We are looking into new floor coverings, but not till this fall. As for the spiders, I will mention this to our property manager - the place is cleaned frequently through the summer, so maybe they need a reminder to hit the out of the way places? Again, thanks for the comments. Without feedback like this, we don't always know what problems to address.
