Here in Manhattan Beach, many historic homes and buildings are torn down without fanfare to make room for new constructions…but we couldn't bear to give that same death sentence to this charismatic 1930's Spanish-style villa!

Manhattan Beach is the perfect location for this personality-packed home, which is a less than 5-minute walk to the ocean and one of the Beach’s best surf spots (we're located on a walk street so accessing the beach couldn't be easier). And it’s also perfect for those who wish to escape to a laid back place by the sea that’s still just 5 minutes from LAX—and centrally located near downtown LA, Hollywood, Long Beach, Santa Monica, Venice, and Anaheim/Disneyland, too.

Manhattan Beach is the kind of place where locals come to walk their dogs on The Strand’s walking / biking path and escape the more tourist-heavy beaches. From this rental, all of Manhattan Beach’s perks are in close walking distance—like the ocean, shops and restaurants on Manhattan Beach Blvd & Pier to the south, and shops & bars to the north.

This home sleeps 4, with one California King bed in the bedroom, one bath, and one plush sofa bed. Other perks include washer/dryer, free WiFi, and one private parking spot—believe me, you’ll want one in this area!

My husband and I fell in love with the home’s history, and throughout our recent remodel, we took great care to maintain its colorful personality and heritage and enhanced its existing beauty with Spanish tile work, rich turquoise paint, and vintage artwork from Mexico.

Wake up and fry an egg in the sunny eat-in kitchen, using the vintage, professionally refurbished O'Keefe & Merritt cobalt blue stove. We LOVE this delightful stove, and so do our guests—in fact, we find it provides a more even heat than today’s sleek, modern models.

A turquoise back splash, custom-made self closing cabinets and dining area with exotic monkey pod wood bar top and vintage tractor seat stools give the whole kitchen the feel of a fun Mexican restaurant—a great space to spend a night in.

The bathroom includes a brand new, cast iron claw foot tub with shower. Sink into it with a glass of wine! The toilet and pedestal sink are brand new, too. But we maintained the Spanish influence with custom made tiles, a new light fixture from Mexico, and a vibrant paint color.

One of our guests called it a “mini Mexican mansion”— The home is decorated with beautiful authentic Mexican furniture, light fixtures and artwork for our guests to enjoy.

There are ocean breeze blowing in through the many gorgeous new double hung windows.
Dimmers on most of the lights throughout the home create a special glow and ambiance in the evening.
