✸ We have an excellent LOCATION: Located in Northeast Portland, in the heart of the Alberta Arts District, The Gingko Guesthouse is within 2 blocks of restaurants, bars, breweries, shops + much more. We’re also just a 15-minute drive/Uber ride to downtown Portland, easily accessible to the airport, greater Portland adventures, and the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.
✸ The home is WELL APPOINTED: We’ve left no detail ignored. From spices to bottle openers, from complimentary toiletries to ample seating for your whole group.
We host a lot of wedding guests and families, and groups of women/couples' friends. Lots of bathrooms, blow dryers, washer/dryer, etc, all of which make packing easier. Our house is equipped with everything you’ll need. (except your clothing and food).
✸ Plenty of SPACE FOR LARGE GROUPS : This rental features: 3 levels of well organized spaces with an open concept living area/dining area, five TVs, 5 bedrooms (9+ total beds), two full kitchens, and 4 full bathrooms to sleep a maximum 10 adults (the sweet spot of double occupancy)+ 3 children, or we can discuss your guest make-up. We do have flexibility in your group’s needs. Kindly let us know what they are prior to booking.
We do not, however, rent to large groups of men under 50, unless you're on a work or church trip.

The porch perched above the street is perfect for enjoying a quiet moment to yourself or having a drink and conversation with friends and relatives. The private backyard and deck are great for BBQ’ing, warm-weather meals, relaxation, and even seasonal fruit-picking.

PLEASE NOTE that our terms differ from VRBO’s boilerplate. Our terms take precedence.
MINIMUM NIGHTS (WEEKEND RENTALS)
In all seasons except winter, (and now JUNE available for 3 nights) we generally require a 4- or 5-night minimum, if you will be staying over a portion of a weekend. That said, there are always exceptions, based on other bookings, your arrival coming up, etc.
So, please inquire before booking. I’ll make it a priority to respond quickly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
I charge a non-refundable $69 accidental damage fee to cover damage up to $1,200. We never anticipate damage and, in 6 years, I've found my guests don’t, either. This does not include excess cleaning, which is additional. If you bring a dog on site, we will charge you an additional $400. That said, we do have a Ring Doorbell video/audio pointed toward the street.
When you book this home, you're booking a house that I own and manage. I live in and love Portland. If anything comes up during your stay, I am just a phone call away. You’re my priority!

Here’s the breakdown:
✺ Upper-level Master Ensuite: King-sized bed, TV, and a private, ensuite bathroom with a shower. Cribs are available, upon request.
✺ Upper-level Twin Room: 2 twin beds (+ 3rd pull-out cot bed) Twins can be converted to a king-sized bed, upon request. This bedroom has a TV and easy access to the upper-level hall bathroom with shower and bathtub
✺ Main-level Queen Bedroom: Queen-sized bed and access to a main-level bath next door. This is the only bedroom on this main floor (which is also the living room/kitchen level)
✺ Street-level King Bedroom: King-sized bed, TV, and access to the lower-level hallway bathroom. A crib is available, upon request.
✺ Street-level Twin Room: 2 twin beds (+ 1 trundle when needed), shares a bathroom with the lower-level king bedroom.
✺ That’s a total of two separate living spaces combined, with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and 5 TVs throughout, with Satellite and/or Internet TV, AMPLE FREE STREET PARKING ON OUR BLOCK, and WIFI.
✵ Kennedy School/McMenamins: This historic school building has been renovated into an Alberta Arts must-visit, with restaurants, bars and taverns, a brewery, cafés, gift shop, spas, movie theater, soaking pool, & more!

I’ve lived in (and loved) Portland for 22 years. My children and I love exploring greater Portland and especially our own front yard: the creativity and vibrance of Alberta Street – the restaurants and food trucks, museums and shops that our neighborhood has to offer. Of course, we love sharing Alberta Streets with other families, too. And, we hope, with you!

Northeast Portland and, specifically, the Alberta Arts District offers the best of the The City of Roses: so many incredible eateries (restaurants, food trucks, street carts, cafés, breweries, and more!), shops, museums and other creative outlets, just minutes from our front door.
What makes this House unique
This is one of the very few large permitted homes in Portland – and one of the largest in the Alberta Arts District. It’s about more than our number of bedrooms, though: The Gingko GuestHouse is a newer building in a lovely residential neighborhood. And it has everything you need. Over the years, we’ve learned from our guests and gone beyond the basics (fast WiFi, satellite TV, etc.) to slowly add all the bells and whistles – everything from hip furnishings and two washer/dryers, right down to complimentary toiletries and a fully equipped kitchen.

Lovely place, fun city
We visited Portland for Spring Break from the East Coast. Two families (plus a grandma) with a total of 5 adults and 3 kids. The house was perfect for us - with each couple getting a floor to ourselves and grandma using the bedroom on the main level. We didn't do much cooking - but the kitchen was well stocked with the basics (and in some cases the no-so-basics) Location was great too - with a delicious Italian restaurant around the corner as well as a pizza place, awesome coffee shop, neighborhood bar and more.
The owner was lovely. Greeted us on arrival, responsive to quick questions, etc.
Highly recommend this place!!

Nice home in a great location.
We rented the entire house (top unit and lower unit) providing us 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. The house had all the amenities you might need. On a clear day you can see Mt St Helens from the kitchen window! The location is walking distance to so many great restaurants, shops and bars in the Alberta neighborhood. Within a half block there's a couple of restaurants, yoga studio and vintage store and within three blocks a great grocery store, BBQ stand, pizza, liquor store and pub.
Great girls weekend
This was the perfect place for 5 girlfriends spending the weekend in Portland. Loved the Alberta Arts neighborhood and Bella was an outstanding host! The house was well very clean and supplied with everything we needed. Would recommend this home for a group stay such as ours.
Great place for a large group!
Recently stayed with a group of friends in both levels, and we had a great experience. The house is comfortable and well appointed. Easy walk to all the restaurants and bars on Alberta Street. Bella is next door and was very attentive to anything we needed. Great location and all around good experience.
Nice place to stay and not to far from airport.
I think the property was very nice and had everything you would expect. The owner was also very nice. The only thing is there are a lot of stairs so if you have any problems with stairs I would suggest you steer clear. Their is plenty of dinning within walking distance and is not to far from the freeway. Overall thought it was worth the money for a large family.
12 min to PDX, 12 min to Downtown, 12 min to Hollywood, 10 min to the Convention Center, lots of transportation options. (Tri-Met, MAX, walking, biking, car) Welcome to this Hip walkable neighborhood with ample cool shopping, coffee, relaxing, eating at restaurants (and carts) galore with foods from around the world, sipping wine, soaking in the McMenamins soaking pool, Common Grounds Wellness Center (hot tubs), drinking micro brews at the local pubs, biking, easily accessible public transportation, etc. All the fun to be had in Sustainable Portland- you can get a microcosm of it in the Alberta Arts neighborhood! Seriously, convenient and entertaining location. Come see for yourself. And Come Hungry! It has countless amenities with-in and also in the neighborhood. Drink Oregon's incredible micro brews, and even homemade fruit soda, the grocery store, pharmacy and many businesses are a few short walking blocks away. WALKING distance to many great eateries, locally roasted coffee, cafes, amazing restaurants, trendy shops, Kennedy School (Soaking tub, 2nd run movies, bars and restaurants), Alberta Arts Last Thursday, Common Grounds Wellness Center, New Seasons Natural grocery store, hot tubs, and so much more. Travel: Three close highways to take you downtown, out to coastal beaches, to the Columbia river Gorge, Hood River, skiing or Multnomah Falls for the day. Super convenient neighborhood to access public transportation close by. (3 bus lines) Welcome to the hip Portland neighborhood of Alberta Arts.

MINIMUM WEEKEND RENTALS AND YOUR SATISFACTION Our goal is to make your Portland stay exactly what you want (and need) it to be. In all seasons except winter, we generally require a 4- or 5-night minimum, if your stay is over a portion of a weekend. That said, there are always many exceptions: calendar dynamics, existing bookings, etc. Please contact me. I’m attentive. (June weekends are open for 3 night stays!) We’ve rented our home for years, and we’ve learned from experience that your booking goes smoother, your trip is better, and you and everyone in your group are happier, if we communicate prior to booking. Please, get in touch. Our response time is FAST (usually, under an hour) and, once we’ve discussed your basics (price, group size, availability), we’ll happily finalize your reservation.
