Little Cabin in the Woods is the result of two couples dreaming of the ideal get-away. Rod and Anita, both educators, and Bob and Pam, a lawyer and an educator, are long-time friends who dreamed of owning a cabin as a home-away-from-home. Now retired, we enjoy traveling, grandchildren, the St. Louis Cardinals, corgis, and spending extended periods of time at the cabin.
Bob and Pam Hankins purchased this cabin in 2007
Little Cabin in the Woods was not purchased---it was designed and built by the owners! With the assistance of a Mennonite father-son team, the cabin took form over two years of persistence and hard work. Our 'fingerprints' are all over the cabin. We painted and hung the cabinets, laid the hickory hardwood floor, made and hung the curtains, and decorated.
Little Cabin in the Woods is a labor of love for us. It provides a get-away and a place of solitude that is unmatched in one of the most beautiful best-kept secrets in the US----Newton County, Arkansas.
We created the ambiances you will enjoy! The cathedral-like windows that stream the outdoors in, the wrap-around deck, the jacuzzi tub, the handcrafted cedar bedstead, the photos, the stain-glass window in the front door are among the unique features of the cabin.
Little Cabin in the Woods is remote enough to give you the feeling of solitude yet close enough to Jasper to allow you to run into the grocery story to pick up that forgotten item.
The cabin was excellent! Very clean, very well stocked, great location. I have posted photos of our stay to ALL my family & friends recommending they book a stay!! We canoed the Buffalo River, & survived I might add lol, & hiked, it was GREAT! Ate @ two local cafes in Jasper & they were very friendly & the food was great! Didn't want to leave 😩 . I recommend this cabin to everyone!!!!!! You won't be disappointed.
Clean, spacious, and affordable. Great owners!
The cabin was in a wonderful location, secluded but close to town if needed. It had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook if we wanted. The porch had beautiful views and we enjoyed having meals out there or just hanging out. The cabin met all of needs--comfort, space, clean and well equipped. We loved our stay at the cabin.
Woodwork is exceptional. We had a great time. The deck is super.
We cannot say enough great things about this cabin. It is perfect in every way. The location is great; and the cabin was clean, well stocked, and meticulously maintained. The owners were wonderful to work with, and very accommodating in every way. We are looking forward to our next visit at the "Little Cabin in the Woods".
Love the Cabin and location. First place I have stayed that when they say it is fully furnished kitchen it actually had one. The Kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you so much for such a wonderful time.
My wife and I plan on coming back as soon as we can.
