Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
We really enjoyed our stay here in Newport. The home was cozy, had a beautiful view, and clean. On our last day we sat in the hot tub and watched whales playing in the ocean from the back yard. We hope to stay here for our next trip to Newport.
We loved the view from the dining and living areas through the large windows, but not being close enough to hear the surf was a disappointment. The hot tub was a nice spot to relax and watch the waves (through the trees). Beach access is ridiculous... we were fortunate to run into a kind neighbor who directed us to the "path", but also gently ranted about how vacation renters are ruining life for the locals (I think we won him over). Just to smell the sea air, and hear the crashing surf, next time we will opt for a place closer to beach level.
Nice place to stay. Beautiful views of ocean and plenty of room for everyone.
So, first off, we'd just like to say that we are not strangers to the VRBO concept. Our family has one also. We maintain the crap out of it, and still think of it as "ours" but that it just gets borrowed occasionally. This property, was in a great location and had an awesome view. Beach access was not as easy as walking out the door (it's on a 90 foot cliff), but you could get there with maybe 5 minutes of walking down the street and a narrow path. The potential was spectacular. But it really didn't feel like somebody's home. My wife mentioned that it felt like a hedge fund investment; do the basic maintenance and provide bare bones necessities, and pocket the money you make out of it as an investment return. Simple things were broken (sliding door), dining chairs and lawn chairs were clearly the absolute minimum quality possible, bed comfort was average at best. For what we paid, we had just expected a little more attention to detail, and if this really was somebody's home for some/most of the year, I expect these simple things would have just been dealt with.
That being said, real estate is location/location/location....and this place nailed that part of it. Easy 3-5 minute drive into Newport, felt remote enough that we had privacy, had a tremendous beach view, and an outdoor hot tub/yard/grill. There was a downstairs 1 BR (separate) unit that our in-laws took, and overall we had a great family vacation.
So I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but between my issues with value (do you really get what you pay for?) and the little things just not quite being right, I just couldn't. It has great potential and with a little re-investment, this property could be awesome. I can recommend this VRBO to friends and family, but with the above caveats so they walk into this "eyes wide open".
The view from the front windows of the ocean is unbeatable. The property is wonderful, I especially enjoyed the fire pit. The beach access is somewhat indirect, but the beach is huge and beautiful.
We loved it here, and would definitely return.
