Why Lisbeth Cease chose Deer Run

We built our vacation home in the Cashier's area to be able to enjoy the gorgeous Smoky Mountains and the gorgeous Highlands/Cashiers area.

Because of the location, we can enjoy the beauty and quietness of the mountain, be we can enjoy activities for the whole family within minutes!

What makes this lodge unique

Quiet, but close to fun amenities for the whole family! Our home (one of our two together) is built in a cul-de-sac at the top of a gated road. Private, serene mountain view overlooking valley and lake.

The property fit our family needs with space, however it is not very homey with pictures etc. Their should be a manual at the house with operational instructions etc, with details on the amenities even though they were sent in short letter. Also I would add some inexpensive chairs to the bottom covered deck!!!! The beds were very comfortable and this area of North Carolina is the best with so much to do. A memorable birthday for my husband!!!

Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

We recently evacuated due to Hurricane Matthew so we booked on very short notice. Lisbeth is very responsive, and very attentive to making sure you have what you need. The pictures really don't do this place justice, it's much better in person. We had to give this place 5 stars which I don't do often. If you get the chance, book it!

Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

This property was a great choice for our first multi-generation family vacation. The house is beautifully appointed and the setting, at the very top of the mountain, is spectacular. The use of the Sapphire Valley Resort facilities for a very nominal fee gives this property the best of resort amenities, but in a very private setting.

Car: necessary

At the very top of the mountain overlooking pristine Sapphire Lake, this tranquil setting is so serene and peaceful, you'll never want to leave. But not far away in Cashiers and Highlands is shopping galore, antique galleries, a multitude of five star dining choices as well as quaint local fare. Hiking and walking trails are plentiful as well as some of the finest golfing around.
