About this property

Spacious 3-Level, 2 BR Plus Loft Mountain Home

Located in the high Sierra community of Peter Pam, near Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge ski area, at an elevation of 5,550 feet and adjacent to national forest, this spacious two-bedroom-plus-loft/two-bath mountain home is the ideal family getaway. Twenty-four foot cathedral ceilings and picture windows frame mountain and forest views.

The fully-equipped kitchen includes a commercial Wolf cooktop, microwave, blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishwasher, and generous collection of pots, pans, and utensils. The large downstairs playroom features a tournament-size, heavy-duty slate pool table.

The inviting upper deck, situated to provide privacy and luxurious outdoor comfort, offers a table, chairs, sun umbrella, and three-burner Vermont Castings gas barbecue.

Our own road down around to the back of our property makes an excellent private sledding run in the winter time. The large double garage and level car-length driveway provide easy access and ample parking.

Escape the summer heat, or enjoy the snow and winter sports. Travel to nearby Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, or the Eastern Sierra. Hike scenic trails. Go on walks led by a trained naturalist from the Summit ranger station.

Take advantage of excellent stream and lake fishing. Rent a canoe, paddle-boat, rowboat or small outboard at the Pinecrest marina, and end your day with a movie at the outdoor amphitheater.

There is a camera at the back of the garage pointing into the forest. In addition to monitoring weather and wildlife, it has a view of the front door and southwest corner of the deck, areas which are easily visible from the street.

Loved the neighborhood, so peaceful especially sitting on the deck and viewing the forest. It’s very roomy although the living room gets a little warm in the late afternoon but there are plenty of fans to help with that. Once the sun is down it’s perfect! The mornings are glorious!!!

The cabin is very nice with enough room for all. The outdoor deck and pool room are the favorite spots. Close to snow places and hiking. Especially appreciate the pet friendly place so entire family is included.

Especially if skiing/going to Dodge Ridge. The cabin easy to get on/off hwy 108. Loved the cabin, it's roominess, functional kitchen, and fireplace. We forgot to bring our own sheets (a necessity), so that was inconvenient. Mailing the keys back and forth seems unnecessary when lock boxes work so well. Not a big deal and other than that a great place and stay! well

Big, comfortable house in a beautiful location

We had a wonderful stay at this house for a weekend of skiing at Dodge Ridge. The house was big with plenty of beds and couches and places to relax, plus a pool table in the basement where we hung out a lot. The location is beautiful, with a view of the mountains and the woods, close to skiing, pizza, a few markets, and lots of outdoors. And the owner was quite helpful throughout the process -- providing helpful directions for everything, and preparing the house to be clean and ready upon arrival. Having stayed at a number of similar A-frame houses, we felt this was one of the best.

Mountain getaway

Wonderful location and amenities with two exceptions; Very inconsistent dish connection with total outage frequently throughout the day and living room furniture and carpet in need of replacement due to rips, tears and stains. Bed pillows also need replacement. In total, this is a Wonderful cabin was very accommodating space and we totally enjoyed our stay.

We loved the stay! Instructions were very clear and sent via both message and email so I had clear expecations of what to expect. It's a bit overwhelming at first glance, but low stress in reality. Communication is fantastic and the house is perfect for a two family stay. A great loft area with 4 beds, a fantastic Wolf Stovetop and kitchen and really a lovely pool room. It was a perfect base and we really appreciated the spacious 2 car garage when it snowed. A gem!

Family get away

Excellent host communication! Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of blankets,pillows, &hot water for multiple showers in a row, great washer/dryer, huge game room, large BBQ grill, very warm afternoons from gorgeous Mountain View windows, we used cabin fans in all bedroom windows which pushed cool air through cabin. This was our 1st vacation since Sept 2023 when our 2.5yr old grandson Finnegan experienced a life changing medical event. Our time with him may be limited, we want to help him experience life as he would have before Sept. My husband, 3 of our adult daughters,13 yr old granddaughter, 3.5 yr old grandson & our medically complex 2.5 grandson Finny & I planned to meet up with extended family at Pinecrest Lake. Finn had a very bad night so his momma & I stay at the cabin, the rest of the family went to the lake. We enjoyed the beautiful view & were comfortable in the cabin caring for Finn. The bedroom our daughter & Finn slept in was large enough to hold all the equipment we need to use during the night, the living room & deck offered extra space during the day to spread out &move him around. Kitchen bar gave us room to set up his meds & keep them safely out of the reach of our other grandson. The family had a fun time at the lake the short drive allowed them time to get a perfect spot on the shore. We are blessed to have stayed in a quiet & beautiful neighborhood Having braved our 1st trip, we are more confident & pray Finn can see the lake on our next stay.

Spring break

Great place for a family with teens- pool table was a hit, a pool tournament was going on through most of our stay! Neighborhood was so quiet, but I heard a ton of birds which I love- loved soaking up the sun on the back deck and watching the birds. My husband and I--a native Californian and transplanted Floridian--enjoyed and cared for our cabin for over twenty years. We liked traveling ourselves and also enjoyed providing a happy experience for the travelers who visit our mountain home. Our mountain kitchen reflects our interest in cooking. In the photo, we're hiking in the woods behind our cabin, along a creek that runs to the north fork of the Tuolumne River. I now manage the cabin with the help of my son and continue to visit regularly.

Why they chose this property

We have been visiting the Pinecrest area for many years and love its peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere and scenic beauty and interest. Away from the heavy traffic and crowds of Tahoe and Yosemite, but close enough for a visit, this lovely part of the Sierra provides all of the activities that people come to the mountains for. Sonora Pass was the earliest route over the Sierra and is one of the highest and most scenic.

What makes this property unique

Our mountain home was custom built to modern standards in 1988. Among other things, the outside walls were built with 2" x 6"s, instead of the standard 2" x 4"s, allowing for 50 per cent more insulation and strength, which makes the house easy to keep warm and cozy in winter and cooler in summer.

We live on the coast and love to visit the mountains, so we feel we have the best of both worlds. Our house has been well taken care of. It's hard to believe that 20 years have passed.
