About the property

Large Lot Alone On A Peninsula. Beds For 10!

Thank you for inquiring about our Lake House.

The house sits alone on a peninsula on the public side with 800 feet of water front. A wooded area blocks its view from the street making this property extremely private.

The pier is a short 50 foot walk across the lot from the house. The large sandy beach area is a few steps further and extends gradually into the lake. You can ski or tube right from the beach or the pier. A few steps further is our 12 foot concrete boat launch capable of accommodating very large boats. The pier, beach and boat launch are private, have plenty of deep water (regardless of lake water levels), and well within view from the house.

The house is approximately 1800 square feet. Windows abound allowing views of the lake to extend 300 degrees. The front of the house is walled with windows two stories high providing spectacular sights of water and sunsets. There is a large kitchen fully equipped with new cabinets and granite, two full baths, three bedrooms and a loft. One bedroom has a king bed, two have a queen, and the loft has 4 bunks = beds for 10.

The deck has two picnic tables and wraps around the entire front of the house. Other essentials include central air/heat, a washer & dryer, stereo, blu-ray player, two HD televisions, and DirecTV satellite service with many HBO & ENCORE movie channels, large propane grill (propane supplied), a wood stove for spring and fall evenings, and outdoor lounge chairs.

The lake itself is a fisherman’s paradise. As always, success is primarily dependent on skill.

We are not a realty company. The property was carefully chosen and the home was designed and built as it is because we are Lake People. If you're a lake lover and appreciate privacy & views, you'll enjoy your stay.

2nd time here and Fantastic as expected!!!

First and foremost Jamie and the Ward Family is absolutely wonderful to work with making our reservations! This is our 2nd visit to this beautiful lake house!!! We loved being here every moment of each day we were here!!! You won't be disappointed!!! Perfect location, views of the lake are above superior, private dock for our boat, private beach, all the amenities you need and more!!! We will definitely be back for a 3rd time and more!!! Thank you Ward family for providing such a lovely place to getaway😊

Perfect lake house getaway!!! Will return!!!

This is a must stay lake house!!! We went for 4nights this past September to celebrate our 10year anniversary and do a mini renewal! The house has everything you will need! The views are absolutely stunning, the accommodations are very nice. We launched our boat right there and kept it secured to your private dock! Everyone enjoyed the private beach as well! Making our reservation was smooth running and the owners responded promptly and made sure everything was good to go when you arrive. Not one bad thing to say about this property! We will definitely be back soon!

Perfect Getaway!

My family and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was much needed. The views of the lake were exceptional and second to none. We're definitely planning a late summer visit soon as the kids loved the privacy the rental offers. You essiantly have what seems as endless lakefront property set on a hill which gives an incredible view. We were there in early April. We had unseasonable warm weather the first part of the weekend and enjoyed what seemed like a brand new grill. Propane tanks were full and I grilled steaks and burgers for the family. Grocery store was not far away and a convience store was very close for needed items. There was even a burger maker in the drawer in the kitchen drawer. Incredible! Internet was reliable and much needed for my kids. They were able to watch kids YouTube without a problem. It gave me and my wife a much needed break. We all slept upstairs. The carpet was very clean and very new. The property even had a dock and while we had nice and unseasonable warm weather in April, the kids enjoyed jumping in the lake. They swam like squid and enjoyed every minute. I would highly recommend this property. We'll definitely visit again as we enjoyed it and the kids had a blast without giving up the Internet.

Bear Castle gem

My favorite week of the year is spent at Lake Anna, this is my favorite property I've stayed at to date. Owner was easy to communicate with, house was clean, every amenity needed(two fridges!), and the property is the best on he lake. The dated lawn chairs mentioned in a previous review seemed to have been replaced by our visit. Panoramic views make for beautiful sunsets and great spectating for those who chose to watch the water sports rather than partake in them. Shallow, shaded beach with swing set great for younger kids. And deep water off the dock great for older kids and for skiing. Big yard for lawn games and fire pit. Close to the grocery store too, major plus. We'll be back!

Great View

As I stated in the title of my review, this house has one of if not the best view of the lake. I have rented this home in the past under different ownership and had no issues in the past. However things change and I need to point out a few things that were slightly annoying. The grill needed major cleaning, no propane gas for the grill, had to manually light each burner separately, shower water temperature was inconsistent (turned cold and back to hot/warm and then back to cold), downstairs bedroom window leaked when it rained, grass needed to be cut, beach area infested with ants, lounge chairs have seen better days, needed larger cleats on right side of pier to tie up and secure your boat, very slow Wi-Fi, remote for TV needed batteries (None were provided), Blu-ray player did not work, steak knives barely sliced thru butter, bedroom fan upstairs had loud hum when running, and some lights needed light bulbs. Apparently the new owner has no local maintenance representation to address immediate concerns. On a positive note AC worked great, having 2 refrigerators is a plus, sleeping quarters were adequate, updated kitchen was great, kitchen appliances worked well, and the view of the lake is priceless.

Owner's Response: We greatly appreciate your constructive criticisms. It is obvious we have quite a challenge to gain the respect and admiration you have for the previous owner. The issues you raised will be addressed ASAP. Until then: We ask that renters clean the grill after use and when one propane tank empties, please set it aside and designate for it to be refilled (put a note on it). Believe it or not, tanks somehow disappear. Not sure why each burner had to be lit separately but I believe you. Thank you for pointing this out. It’s helpful to know what needs to be fixed. Curious about shower water temperature; except for routine maintenance of the shower cartridge which hadn’t been done for many years, no plumbing has since we took ownership from the original (and only other) owner. Thank you for pointing out a leak in downstairs window. This is the first time we’ve been made aware of it. It wasn't leaking when we were there 3 weeks ago but we'll check it out for sure as it would serve no purpose to allow this to go unaddressed. Tall grass: again, thanks for pointing this out. We had been maintaining the same mowing schedule as the previous owner. We now have arranged for the grass to be cut every week. We are aware of the ants in the beach area. Two weeks ago (right before your stay) we engaged a professional exterminator to address this issue. He did, but he told us it is impossible to permanently eliminate them. We accepted his professional opinion and plan to have him do routine prevention, but we welcome your advice. Perhaps the previous owner had a permanent fix? Lounge chairs have seen better days. Thanks for pointing it out. We had added 6 new outside lounge chairs since the previous ownership. We'll work on getting more. Cleats on the dock are the same ones as previous ownership. They are another planned improvement. Wi-Fi is far faster than during previous ownership. We welcome advice on how to improve it. Remote control batteries for TV. This issue may require some more contemplation because along with trash bags, light bulbs, etc., replacement batteries continue to disappear. Blu-ray didn’t work: Thanks, you are the first to let us know. We used it 3 weeks ago but will check into it. Steak knives are now on our list of things to buy. A humming fan is annoying and we’ll replace it. Light bulbs do indeed burn out. When they do, kindly notification by renters is our way of knowing. Again, thank you. Gorgeous getaway

I visited with several mom friends for our annual girls weekend. The house was a little tricky to find because it's tucked down a long driveway and not visible from the road. We figured it out and were glad we did!

The location is absolutely beautiful. The view of the lake is stunning, especially around sunrise and sunset.

The house itself was cute- sort of like a cabin. There were plenty of supplies for cooking, including a blender and coffee maker. It would be great for a family with kids as there were bunk beds. There was also a kids swing set.

The location was also convenient. The Food Lion was close for our last minute things we forgot. We also went to Tim's at Lake Anna for dinner one night. Some lake spots are very secluded and you have to drive a long time to get to a store/restaurant.

We spent most of our time on the dock which was bigger then we thought it would be, based on the pictures. We all relaxed on the dock, floated in our inner tubes, and even fished. We caught 2 catfish and several other small fish.

Also, Jamie was wonderful to work with. Some owners/managers aren't the most pleasant to work with, but this wasn't the case.

We have been visiting Lake Anna for years for this annual trip. We all agreed that this has been the best place and want to come back every year!
