Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 8

You'll have an unforgettable time at the Oregon Coast when you stay at this oceanfront two-bedroom Waldport vacation home. Tucked right behind a dune, it's just a few steps down to the sand. Perfect for a family getaway, you can even bring your dogs!

The comfortable interior is a relaxing space to spend the evening, with tall slanted ceilings, wood beam accents, and large picture windows. With plenty of furniture, everyone can find a cozy spot for watching TV, browsing cable channels, or popping in a DVD. Lay out some snacks on the coffee table and settle in for a movie night with the family. All this, and a wood burning fireplace will provide both heat and ambiance on those chilly coast nights.

Out on the deck, you can listen to the ocean while you sip your morning coffee and work on a crossword puzzle. There's a trail right from the deck that leads down to the beach, making an early morning run with the dogs so easy!

When you want to gather everyone around for meals, the large wooden table can be set to accommodate all. And since it shares the space with the living room, you can still appreciate the warmth from the fire or the view of the beach grasses swaying outside.

One of the benefits of renting a vacation house is definitely having your own kitchen! And here, you'll be able to plan meals with ease. You'll have a refrigerator, stovetop/oven, and even a dishwasher. Smaller appliances include a coffeemaker, coffee grinder, toaster, and microwave. It's just like being at home, except better because you're on vacation!

On the main floor, there are two bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed. Both rooms have a distinctly maritime aesthetic, with ocean-influences accessories and colors (one of the rooms even has an ocean view). There are also practical accessories like bedside tables, lamps, and dressers for added convenience.

Head downstairs, and you'll find a large room complete with twin bunk beds, another TV, and a pool table! Keep younger guests entertained down here, while the adults socialize and hang out upstairs. Or, kids of all ages can hold a pool tournament and stay up late watching movies and playing games. Other amenities in the house include a washer and dryer, WiFi, and beach chairs to bring down to the sand. This home will comfortably sleep up to eight guests, as well as up to 4 dogs (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).

This adorable beach home is part of the Bayshore Beach Club community, so you'll have access to a seasonal pool and a clubhouse game room as well. Please note that to use the Bayshore's pool and other amenities, you must purchase a day pass. The stretch of beach here is long and sandy, ideal for beachcombing, hunting for shells, watching a colorful sunset after dinner, or just planning a picnic down on the sand. A short 20 minute drive south, will take you to Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, as well as the town of small coastal town of Yachats.

To the north, there's Seal Rock for exploring tide pools, and another 20-minute drive from the house will take you to Newport and the popular Oregon Coast Aquarium - a great excursion on a rainy day.

Right in the town of Waldport, there's also plenty to do. Besides the uncrowded beach, fans of fishing will love spending time a bit inland at the Alsea River, where salmon and steelhead can be found. There's also clamming and crabbing, as well as a handful of galleries in town for those that would rather browse fish-themed art rather than interact with actual fish. And when you don't want to make a meal back at your kitchen, Waldport has a number of restaurants to choose from - Carol's Cafe is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, the Flounder Inn Tavern is the place for broasted chicken, and Azul's is the spot for a tasty Mexican food fix.

You'll definitely want to book a stay at this charming Waldport vacation rental. Offering a great location, a comfortable beach cabin interior, and bonus community amenities, The Nautical House is a wonderful home base for exploring the central Oregon Coast!

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great beach place.

 • 5 of 5

We had a great visit. The location was great, private, and easy to find. The beach was right outside the front door and was gorgeous.

Dog Friendly and Family Friendly

 • 5 of 5

The dog friendly and family friendly features of this rental really sold us. We are a family that plays and relaxes with our dogs, so we felt right at home. The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of kitchen ware to do most anything. We liked having a grill and loved the secludeness of the beach. I think the only thing we missed was a blender!

Fun decor, close to beach, but needs some maintenance

 • 4 of 5

Our family (2 parents, 2 grandparents, 2 teenagers) stayed here for 4 days/3 nights. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the kids loved staying in the downstairs "game room". The house is right behind a sand dune so there is no ocean view from the house itself, but it is very easy to walk over the dune to the beach. We loved being so close to the ocean. We also loved this beach, it was very clean and "mellow".

We enjoyed the fun nautical decor throughout the house and enjoyed the pool table and fireplace. Our only complaint is that some aspects of the house could use a little maintenance: Mostly, the dishwasher did not drain correctly (we had to run it through the drain/dry cycle 2-3 times to get the water to drain out) and since it seems to be an older model it isn't really compatible with the modern "pods" that are provided. Also the knob on the front bedroom door kept falling off.

But, overall we had a positive experience and a fun vacation!

Nice decor, great location, but needs some updating

 • 4 of 5

Our family of 6 (2 teens, 2 parents, 2 grandparents) stayed here 4 days/3 nights. There was plenty of room for all. We loved being so close to the beach... not having an ocean view from the house itself didn't matter because we were so close! The teens loved the downstairs gameroom/"bunkhouse". We had fun playing pool and enjoyed the fireplace. We really liked the fun nautical decor. Our only real complaint is that the dishwasher is very old and didn't drain right, also door knob fell off of one bedroom and the lock on the other bedroom is broken. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay!

Owner's Response: A new dishwasher will very soon be installed, and the doorknob will be replaced at the same time. Thank you!

Wonderful Time in Waldport

 • 5 of 5

This was the second time we've stayed on Oceania drive, different house last time. We love the easy access to the beach, as well as sand right up to the back door for the kids to play in. This home worked well for 4 adults and 4 kids. The kids loved their "master" suite with the bunk beds and pool table and half bathroom. They had a great time. Never knew they loved pool so much. Having access to the heated pool down the road was appreciated. We had a great time watching movies and doing puzzles when inside, and playing in the pool and on the beach when not. We only wished we could have stayed longer. With a full kitchen we had breakfast at home most days, and some dinners. Can't wait to get back there next year.

Wonderful week in Walport

 • 5 of 5

We actually were only there for 5 days, but the kids really wanted to stay longer. Our 4 kids loved the "master suite", as they called it, with the pool table and bunk beds, and their own half bathroom. The house sleeps 8 people very well. With the pool table and all the puzzles and games, and dvd player, there was lots to do when we were in. We took advantage of the kitchen and full size fridge and had breakfast and some dinners in. Loved the fact that the kids could play in the sand right off the deck. Their major complaint was that we didn't spend enough hours down at the club swimming. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go again.

ps We did notice there are these little crawling plants by the walkway going up to the house that has burrs. We only noticed because our youngest decided to walk bare foot over them, and we had to pull about 20 of them out of her feet. They came out easily but it was an interesting start to trip. We did have a wonderful time.
