About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, 1 Half Baths, Sleeps 8

You'll have an unforgettable time at the Oregon Coast when you stay at this oceanfront two-bedroom Waldport vacation home. Tucked right behind a dune, it's just a few steps down to the sand. Perfect for a family getaway, you can even bring your dogs!

The comfortable interior is a relaxing space to spend the evening, with tall slanted ceilings, wood beam accents, and large picture windows. With plenty of furniture, everyone can find a cozy spot for watching TV, browsing cable channels, or popping in a DVD. Lay out some snacks on the coffee table and settle in for a movie night with the family. All this, and a wood burning fireplace will provide both heat and ambiance on those chilly coast nights.

Out on the deck, you can listen to the ocean while you sip your morning coffee and work on a crossword puzzle. There's a trail right from the deck that leads down to the beach, making an early morning run with the dogs so easy!

When you want to gather everyone around for meals, the large wooden table can be set to accommodate all. And since it shares the space with the living room, you can still appreciate the warmth from the fire or the view of the beach grasses swaying outside.

One of the benefits of renting a vacation house is definitely having your own kitchen! And here, you'll be able to plan meals with ease. You'll have a refrigerator, stovetop/oven, and even a dishwasher. Smaller appliances include a coffeemaker, coffee grinder, toaster, and microwave. It's just like being at home, except better because you're on vacation!

On the main floor, there are two bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed. Both rooms have a distinctly maritime aesthetic, with ocean-influences accessories and colors (one of the rooms even has an ocean view). There are also practical accessories like bedside tables, lamps, and dressers for added convenience.

Head downstairs, and you'll find a large room complete with twin bunk beds, another TV, and a pool table! Keep younger guests entertained down here, while the adults socialize and hang out upstairs. Or, kids of all ages can hold a pool tournament and stay up late watching movies and playing games. Other amenities in the house include a washer and dryer, WiFi, and beach chairs to bring down to the sand. This home will comfortably sleep up to eight guests, as well as up to 4 dogs (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).

This adorable beach home is part of the Bayshore Beach Club community, so you'll have access to a seasonal pool and a clubhouse game room as well. Please note that to use the Bayshore's pool and other amenities, you must purchase a day pass. The stretch of beach here is long and sandy, ideal for beachcombing, hunting for shells, watching a colorful sunset after dinner, or just planning a picnic down on the sand. A short 20 minute drive south, will take you to Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, as well as the town of small coastal town of Yachats.

To the north, there's Seal Rock for exploring tide pools, and another 20-minute drive from the house will take you to Newport and the popular Oregon Coast Aquarium - a great excursion on a rainy day.

Right in the town of Waldport, there's also plenty to do. Besides the uncrowded beach, fans of fishing will love spending time a bit inland at the Alsea River, where salmon and steelhead can be found. There's also clamming and crabbing, as well as a handful of galleries in town for those that would rather browse fish-themed art rather than interact with actual fish. And when you don't want to make a meal back at your kitchen, Waldport has a number of restaurants to choose from - Carol's Cafe is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, the Flounder Inn Tavern is the place for broasted chicken, and Azul's is the spot for a tasty Mexican food fix.

You'll definitely want to book a stay at this charming Waldport vacation rental. Offering a great location, a comfortable beach cabin interior, and bonus community amenities, The Nautical House is a wonderful home base for exploring the central Oregon Coast!

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great home-base for experiencing the entire coast!

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfectly located for day-trips both north and south of Waldport, super convenient to Newport and all it has to offer, and has a fantastic beach-side location! This is our second stay here and we'll be back again!

Lovely coastal getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a great location for a long winter weekend with our family. The kids loved the game room and bunk beds downstairs, the adults loved the many views of water and sand, the house was clean, and having the beach literally out the back door was wonderful—for both us and our dog. We would definitely stay at this location again.

This will be the first beach house I look to rent for our next trip to the Oregon coast.

  • 5 of 5

Great to be right on the beach, just a short walk up a tiny dune and there is the ocean. Great house for children. We have young children and were able to put them to sleep upstairs and then go downstairs and they didn't hear us playing pool or playing music.

View sparse but comfort fine

  • 4 of 5

This is a great little house that could easily sleep 8 if four don't mind being in bunks in one room. Main rooms were nice. Really nice wood furniture. Very useful kitchen. I would like some kind of number of house by the road. Not sure I'd choose again at the price without an ocean view. The only view is sideways out a bedroom window but then the ocean is just a quick hike up a short hill and then down to the surf is close.

Great location, easy beach access, house itself needs a little TLC.

  • 4 of 5

We've stayed at this property before. We love the location. It is in a quiet neighborhood with amazing beach just over the dune. It does seem as if the house could use a little TLC however. The bathroom showerhead doesn't seem to work all that well, the lighting in bathroom and kitchen could be improved and there is a very musty smell that permeates throughout the home, especially in the downstairs. I realize that the home is located on the coast so that may be the reason so we just open the windows to help it air out. I think the real draw of this house would be the location and easy beach access. If you are looking for something fancy and modern, don't stay here.
