About Paula Peterson and Griff Butler
We're a family of three from Evanston, Illinois. I work for Northwestern University and my husband works for United Airlines. Our son is in college now at the University of Illinois but he loves spending quiet weekends with us at Sleepy Hollow Cottage. We use the house mostly in the off-season when all the crowds have left Door County. We hike and bike, eat pizza at Wild Tomato, watch movies, go bowling, play Settlers of Cataan, Scrabble, and cards, sleep late, make cookies, and read, read, read. We hope you enjoy Sleepy Hollow Cottage as much as we do.

Why Paula Peterson and Griff Butler chose Egg Harbor
In my childhood I spent many happy hours at my grandfather's simple country cottage in a small town in the Laurentian Mountains, near Montreal. My grandmother cooked dinners that she served on the screened porch and from the backyard all the children could disappear into the woods, where we would pick blueberries and play make believe. There was a nearby lake where we would go swimming and eat french fries sprinkled with vinegar and ice cream cones. To me it was a magical place, and I always looked forward to returning. When I grew up and was finally able to afford a country house of my own, I knew I wanted to buy property in Door County. I love how it is surrounded by water and how easy it is to get on my bike and just ride for hours and hours. I think when I was looking for my house, I unconsciously searched for something reminiscent of my grandfather's place---simple, charming, private, and nestled in the woods. I found all that I was looking for and more with Sleepy Hollow Cottage. I fell in love with it immediately because of the screened porch and the wood-burning fireplace (both musts for me) and when I looked out the windows and saw nothing but trees, I knew it was the house for me.
